It's worse when you consider they both have a lot of problems. One's abusive and has anger management issues, the other can't hold down a job, and I'm just trying to get away from it all.

She's prone to being aggressive, but has been trying to work on this since the events recently that led to her coming here.

That element was the moment her magic awakened--one of intense anger at another student in her old high school, who, as it turned out, blamed her for the lateness of a project that she had pulled both her own and the other student's weight on. The...very messy result came as a total shock to Amanda, and after she was found by the Academy, she resolved to work on that anger, quite a bit.

It will be a long process.
