I think the idea is that we dont go around posting stuff like 'My character is the third cousin of Beckendorf and had an intense bromance with one of the Stoll brothers, before going on to discover that they are the younger sibling of Clarisse' and otherwise simply inserting your character into the canon of the backstory taken from the books, which this RP takes place several years after.

We shall assume that no canon characters are at Camp, except functionally necessary ones like Chiron. Sahara and I have something of a plan, and we'll let you know if that involves canon characters or not. For now though, pretend they're not at Camp. You can talk about them, but not meet them.

Powers: The ability to control and bend wind and air, can also fly and become invisible for short periods of time.
Appearance:
Personality: Street smart and great with numbers, Mary's excellent at making money, in illegal ways as well. She enjoys playing games but knows how to cheat really well, although she rarely does this when she's havig fun. Somewhat spoiled and easily bored, she's gotten into trouble at camp for running several betting rings but she came out richer for it so, who cares? She's a kind, humorous but cocky girl who is a bit paranoid and tends to look over her shoulder a lot, understandable when at home you have to watch for who wants to put a bullet in you or your family's head.
Biography: Mary's maternal uncle was Danny "Bugsy" Dellacroce, a high ranking boss in the Gambino crime family of the New York division of the Mafia and his father and three of his brothers were in the mob, they came from a long line of gangsters and that's the way it always was. Danny's only sister, Mary was in charge of running the numbers of their rigged gambling business and was at the casino one night when she met a handsome young man at a bar who challenged her to a game. If he won, she'd give him a kiss. Young, beautiful and sharp, Mary agreed. She won, but gave him that kiss anyway which became something more when they met up again a short time later.

Mary's family was of course pissed off when she turned up pregnant mysteriously about a month and a half after that because it totally violated the old code. They calmed down a little after she explained the father wasn't from a rival family. When little Mary Isabella "Mia" was born, the family loved her however and especially her mother and uncle Danny. Her mother was concerned with bringing a baby into her family's lifestyle but as Mary grew, she was trained in the "family business" as it were. She was a mob principessa, spoiled and given mostly anything she wanted and was taught to shoot a gun when she was young to protect herself.

Given how she grew up, Mia's childhood was a rough one, seeing a few family members and many family friends die and she went to school with men around her to protect her from harm. She couldn't have normal friends or a normal life truly, always looking over her shoulder although her family was rather close knit. Things were a bit complicated by her powers, which showed up when she was young. The girl could do things with the air and it confused everybody until she turned nine, Big Mary's beau ran into the little girl at the ice cream shop. Wary of strangers, Mary's first instinct was to run away but the man assured her he meant no harm, he explained to her that he was Aeolus, god of the wind and her father. Coming home and telling her family this, her mother's jaw dropped. When it came time for her to go to CHB, her mother and family strongly protested, Uncle Tommy even threatening to shoot the god but he merely knocked the man over with a wind blast and assured them that Mary would be kept safe. Seeing a chance for the girl to have somewhat normal friends her own age, her mother agreed. Mary was nervous and scared when first arriving especially without her pistol, but she started to feel a little safer as time went on.
