Indeed. Think between 800 - 950 A.D.

Civilization name ( in native language): L'Empire du Soleil Levant
Language name: Occitan
Nation on map:
Image

Capital ( if any): Bois-de-Rose
Leader/s and title: Empereur Charles II Augustine du Soleil Levant

Religion ( if any) name: The Occitan Orthodoxy (The Occitan form of the Davidian Faith)
General rundown of mythology ( must be at least 1 paragraph): In the beginning there was nothing. Out of nothing came god creating itself from the nothingness and then creating the Cosmos, Time and the laws which bind it together in an every expanding realm of his. For a long time he rested, having created all that there was, but one day he decided that the Cosmos was worth more than just existing, it deserved activity that would arise from a small start, and so he gave life to the Cosmos, in the Realm of Polaris (Earth), he took his time, creating all that was to live over many numberless years, engineering and guiding it along until it was crafted in his image, and so humans were born, being intelligent enough to earn themselves the greatest souls of all living beings, ones able to transcend into the afterlife. And so god created Heaven a land of perfection where humans would pass to when they died to live in bliss with one another and in eternal paradise.

However, god, wanting the humans to experience reality on a truly honest level, gave them the power of self-control, and therefore, they would have to choose to be good. Those that would behave would be given passage to Heaven, and those who acted horribly would not. However, many humans did not know the lines between these behaviors, so god sent down from Heaven an angel named Ethneal who spoke to the first prophet, David, and told him that god had a list of ten commandments to the people. With these commandments David traveled throughout the Levant, spreading god's word, and then made way for faraway lands to spread the word of god. Many accepted it, but some were opposed to it and attacked David. However, David survived to be one hundred and ten before dying in the land of Cartha.

God's next messenger, Abraham, was given a message to spread informing the people about their rewards and punishments for actions and on top of that, word of the eventual end of time and space, which would occur far longer than men could count from the current date, that the cosmos would slowly pull apart and become a hot, dark and massive realm, and that by that point, most humans would be in heaven. This word split the church's believers as another false prophet named Dorian began spreading lies about the religion fifty years after Abraham's death, saying that he was god's son and thus a demi-god, that Abraham was a false prophet, that a hell commanded by a Devil existed for the wicked, and the cosmos would end in a far closer time. Many believed his lies, and it made God furious, so Dorian died at the age of forty nine, dying of a disease in his throat, punishing him for the lies he once spoke.

God realized that many had fallen for Dorian's lies as he had made man free to believe any word spoken or deny it as well, so, after 56 years, he contacted a third messenger Adam in the deserts of the East during a time of drought, and told him that Dorian was a false prophet. To prove that he was the true god, as many in the region worshiped idols, he created a stream of water which granted Adam's village water to drink from. Over time, Adam made his way west, spreading the true word which soon overshadowed the Dorian faith and saved the people of the world from deceit and lies, though many still believe in false gods and idols. With that Adam notified all that god made a commandment making him the final prophet

Afterlife ( if any) description: The good go to heaven, the wicked are punished for their crimes and then allowed into heaven after their punishment which often involves being lashed by the Angel of Redemption a certain number of times, or being presented a trial in the realm of Mercy where they can earn their way to Heaven. The Gate to Heaven is guarded by the Angel Ryan who grants you forgiveness for sins past and access to the land of paradise where all you desire is accessible and all those you knew can be met.
god/s?: There is one god and he is either called God or other synonymous terms from their holy book, such as 'The Creator of the Cosmos', 'the God of Time and Reality', 'the Father of Life', 'the Restorer of Faith', the 'Great Judge of the Afterlife'.
Demons/Devils?: None.
Religious Human leaders?: Priests, Missionaries, 'Unconfirmed Saints'
Commandments ( things that this religion demands of it's followers?):

I. One must not kill other people but in self defense.
II. One must not steal from people.
III. One must not worship false gods, idols or false prophets.
IV. One must not commit adultery. The Bond of marriage must be broken before a new bond can be created.
V. One must give to those in need so that they too may be given the fruit of life you enjoy.
VI. One must avoid any substance that perverts the mind. If one can become addicted to it, it is not permitted as it ruins the view one has on the grand cosmos.
VII. One must be kind to strangers
VIII. One must harbor those in need of safety from persecution, even if their beliefs are not in unity with god's message.
IX. All of mankind is equal, men and women, and people from all parts of the world, and it is their right to have the same opportunities as one another
X. One must be brave for one's family, they are the greatest gift from heaven and should be loyal and kind to one another.
Final Commandment. No further messengers shall be sent until the end times, which shall not come for a long time.

Holidays:
Gratiarum- A ten day holiday starting the year where people will give donations to the poor and sick.
Nunitus Finalis- A month long period of prayer after the fourth lunar cycle of a year commemorating the last message from god.

Jour de Ascendance- The first day of the seventh lunar cycle when Emperor Augustine finished his conquest of the five Occitan Kingdoms to create the Empire of the Rising Sun.
Jour Empire- A Celebration on the last day of the seventh lunar cycle commemorating the establishment of the capital city as the center of all of the Kingdoms, the establishment of all local governments, and formal creation of the Empire.
Customs: Women are highly respected and allowed to divorce their husbands. According to their religion all people are created equally. Homosexuality is virtually non-existent in the society because people in the society have just never came up with the concept, and due to the extreme rarity of it, it is often seen as taboo. Cultural foods include many hand eaten foods such as wraps made from a wheat bread filled with lamb, beef, chicken, pork or other meat. Hearty soups with meat are popular and couscous is often used in many dishes. A favorite is Bastilla spread from a far away land, it exploded in popularity in the Kingdom and chicken bastilla is very famous throughout the region. Also popular is shrimp and crabs along the coastal regions of the country.
Gender roles: Males are generally the hard laborers and hold higher positions in the government. This isn't always true, but the monarchy is passed down to the last of the preceding Emperor before the first daughter, so the head of state is almost always male. There are more men in the military and local militias, though women make up a significant portion of it and though women are more inclined to be weavers, tailors, and other more perceived as feminine jobs, men are not typically looked down on for holding them.
Family structure: The man is typically the head of the household with elders living with their children when they get too old and children being raised by a mother and father.
Fashion: The Northern regions of the country are more formal and conservatively dressed with very imperial looking clothing with pants, tunics, coats, dresses for women and a flare of red or dark blue over their more conservatively colored clothes. In the south there are the traditional areas and more progressive areas with people wearing silk and cloth robes in traditional areas with light blue, purple and green being the most coveted colors, the progressive areas by contrast wear more romanesque clothes with light colors such as light blue, light orange, white and tan being common. Throughout the country the Phyrigian cap is currently popular as a nod towards the era of integration. The Capital has a distinct culture with burgundy formal clothing being very popular. Many wear light orange sashes in support of the Kingdom with some wearing blue sashes representing the Bourgeoisie.
How and or when does one reach adulthood?: People reach adulthood at the age of 15 and will often celebrate it with a small family celebration.
Marriage ( is it voluntary or arranged?): Voluntary, arranged marriages are permitted for minority religions, but are socially looked down on.
Music ( give some favored instruments, a song if you want!): Guitars are popular among the young. More symphonic music with trumpets, Occitan Horns (French Horns), Violins, Cellos, Violas, and other such instruments are also common.
Most important virtue in life ( Ex: Pious, honorable, knowledgeable, devout, ect.): Honor and Intellect

Terrain/s present in nation ( where?): Similar to the IRL Southern France's terrain with woods to the north and rocky beaches with olive trees, and humid warm weather to the south. Olive Trees, Argan Trees, Cypress Trees and Palm Trees are common along beaches and the southern farmlands with grassier more temperate trees to the north. Farmland covers the areas further from the shores all the way to the borders where they meet two mountain ranges, the Atlas Mountains to the Northeast and the Crimson Mountains along their western border. A river coming from the Atlas mountains separates the country from its neighbors along the Eastern border as well.
Agriculture, fishing, hunting; which is the most prominent source of food in your civ?: Agriculture.
(Only agriculture) tell how bountiful your harvests are and what crops you mostly grow: Quite Bountiful consisting of wheat, olives, dates, couscous, barley, oats. Hemp is also grown for medicinal purposes.
(Exchange system) how are items bought and sold in your civ ( Ex: money, bargains, credit etc.): Barter is permitted in markets and informal circumstances, but the primary form of payment in cities, and the only form of payment to banks and the government is in silver coins which are minted at the capital.

Number of people living in your civ: 700,000
Nomadic or stationary: Stationary
Does slavery exist ( if so, how many slaves are there? How many freeman are there?): Slavery isn't commonplace. Most servants are payed for there service. Real slavery is looked down on as unholy since all people are considered equal. ~2,000 slaves, 680,000 freedmen.
Describe ( or provide a picture) the appearance of your average male and female citizen: Both have olive colored skin in the south with lighter skin in the north. Northerners are more often born with wavy hair where as southerners are born with slightly more curly hair. Females wear dresses more often while men wear pants in most areas except in those where robes are worn by both.
How many soldiers do you have: 29,400
Political System ( how is your civ ruled): Absolute Monarchy
Main mode of travel: Horseback and on Foot, though there are some carriages for hire.
What powers do your civs' leader/s posses; how do they gain power?: Absolute Authority over their country. They gain power by birthright with the first male heir selected. The last male heir will be selected before a female is selected to be Monarch.
Distinct Caste ( classes) in your society?: The Imperial Family, the Nobles, the Burghers, the Bourgeoisie, the Merchant Class, the Common Bourgeoisie and the Commoners
( Optional) flaws inherent in your society ( For example, infighting or class tensions): There are those that believe in Dorianism who are often very un-loyal to the government. There are also very few, though some who want to see their region of the Empire independent as there were once five nations where there are one now.

History: In the 1400s PFM (Prior to the Final Message from their god), the first proto-Occitan peoples settled the bay area that they now rule over. These peoples began to share common languages with many city states and minor nations arising from the lands of which these people ruled. Over time, five-subcultures began to arise with each becoming a kingdom by the 300s, the Royaume des Îles Aube consisting of the Islands to the center of the country where the capital is located, the Royaume de Cramoisi in the South-West, the Kingdom of Loire to the North-West with more pagan traditions at the time than the other regions, the Verrian Kingdom to the North East where the word of David first reached the people of Occitan only ten years after the formation of the Kingdom, and to the South East, the Royaume du Concordat Rouge a land once further divided that united as the "Kingdom of Kings" under the Red Concordat, the High King there would oversee the lesser Kings and keep them from rebelling while unifying them to fight against the other Occitan Kingdoms. Though it was officially called the Kingdom of Kings, most nations called it the Kingdom of the Red Concordat because the prior term was seen as quite repetitive.

For centuries the Kingdoms warred, the Dawn Isles becoming the greatest Naval Power and often controlling not only access to the main sea, but the coastlines of other powers. It trained highly effective light cavalry which it became famous for in all of its wars. The Davidian faith spreading first the the Verrian Kingdom, next to the Kingdom of the Dawn Isles, the Crimson Kingdom accepted it third, the Kingdom of the Red Concordat, after a civil war over the matter, accepted it Fourth in the year 68PFM. When the Dorian Faith arrived a massive civil war begun in the Verrian Kingdon as the King accepted it but the people saw it as heresy. The Kingdom of the Sunset Isles, which was in a royal marriage with the Princess of the Verrian Kingdom, supported the locals and invaded the region conquering it and killing the King. The Verrian Kingdom was from then on controlled by the Kingdom of the Dawn Isles through a political marriages and military allegiances by Verrian Generals. When the final word of Adam arrived, the Dawn Isles used it to justify their interference further and immediately accepted it, however, the High King of the Kingdom of the Red Concordat did not, he claimed it was a false message in the same way that Dorianism was, and though many of his subordinate Kings rose up, he crushed their revolts. The Kingdom of the Dawn Isles and the Verrian Kingdom declared war on the Kingdom of Kings, however after a twenty nine year war, they failed to defeat the Kings in combat and only slightly gained land in the north of the Kingdom of the Red Concordat.

Meanwhile, in the east, the Crimson Kingdom and the Kingdom of Loire had been warring over a territory called Lorrane, a rich dairy farming province with traces of silver which were becoming a common form of currency between the five Kingdoms. Over time, the war expanded to being a war on Paganism where the Crimson Kingdom would massacre Loirean villages along their borders. However, in time, the Kingdom of Loire began to convert as the paganist faith fell out of favor with the public who increasingly saw it as brutal, hateful and destructive. The two continued to go to war with one another until a horde from the west, the Hallicans invaded pillaging several villages in both Kingdoms. The two with the help of the Kingdom of the Dawn Isles united to repel the hoards killing the nomadic encampments en masse.

In the year 519AFM (After the Final Message), General Marc Augustine overthrew the Kingdom of the Dawn Isles after decades of weak leadership. He had been a General during a war with the Loirean peoples who had trade disputes and still harbored a large pagan population, and had experienced a very negative relationship with the King and the King's Consul. His first action as self-declared Emperor was arresting the King's Council for insubordination and weakening the country, annexing the Verrian Kingdom, sending his loyalist forces to their capital to execute their King. He replaced the King with one of his Verrian Generals who had been a long time friend of his and waited a year and a half before declaring war on the Loirean Kingdom. He marched a force of 19,000 loyalists into the Kingdom himself and marched directly to their capital defeating all ambushes and attacks along the way with relative ease before arriving there and executing the Royal Family. He then annexed their kingdom before returning to the capital to stop a conspiracy to overthrow his Empire. He confronted his former subordinate commanders and fought each in a duel defeating each in hand-to-hand combat.

Out of his victories an Imperial Cult arose in support of him, and, after two years, he used his followers support to propel the Kingdom into a war with the Kingdom of the Red Concordat citing the failures during the war long ago as a damage to his Empire's honor. From the start two of the eleven Kings defected seeing Emperor Augustine as a true leader and having been chosen by god. For this invasion he tactically blockaded all of their ports and created a massive scale ball and socket scenario where his cavalry forces wrapped around the borders of the country while Verrian heavy infantry and newly recruited loyal Loirean Archers and Spearmen marched towards the capital more directly defeating garrisons in large towns along the way to re-supply. When they arrived at the capital the two cavalry forces of 8,000 horsemen attacked the outskirts of the town from the rear while the main infantry force of 14,000 attacked the main gates of the city, breaching the gates and allowing the cavalry in with them. They stormed the High King's palace, but spared him making him swear loyalty to the Empire and replacing him with a lower King who was already siding with the Empire from the beginning. This allowed him to have the High King use the formerly hostile Armed Forces to pacify the locals while he returned to the Capital to oversee his new Realm.

For twelve years he saw his Empire strengthen and consolidated his political power quelling a small revolt in the Loirean region which he then abolished removing it's local government from existence. However, he felt his job was not complete as the Kingdom of Crimson still stood, mocking his claim to being the Emperor of the Occitan people. So, in the year 535, after requesting they join the Empire as a semi-autonomous nation, Emperor Augustine formally declared war on the Crimson Kingdom citing it as a war of unity. He mobilized an unheard of 48,000 men to invade the region conquering in nineteen days by the start of the seventh lunar cycle.

He returned home twenty two days later, and on the last day of the seventh lunar cycle, he abolished all local governments officially founding his empire. During his later reign statues of him were erected without him needing to ask in all of his major cities. The Arc of Triumph was constructed in the capital, with replica's being built in the cities around it, and statues of his generals and fallen war heroes were built. The tradition of honor burning at death was began as the ashes would be buried. He lived to be 72 years old in the year 567 before he perished and his son Adam Augustine became the next Emperor naming the Empire (Which until then was referred to as 'the Empire' or 'Augustine's Empire') the Empire of the Rising Sun as a nod towards the origin of his fathers power as a General in the Kingdom of the Dawn Isles' Army. The new Emperor oversaw the stabilization and integration of the Kingdoms, crushing twenty revolts during his time as Emperor, however, at the age of 58, his cousin Darius overthrew him sending him to prison until he died at the age of 61 in 598.

Emperor Darius Solomon was a powerful leader, during his time he repressed the peoples of the four lesser kingdoms and no further revolts occurred. He fought in several wars with the Hallican tribes to the east sending armies to massacre their people before returning them home with loot from the towns they sacked. These raids on the formerly powerful nomad group helped to fuel the economy which shifted over to having a merchant class which expanded trade from the region across the southern sea. His reign also saw the establishment of the Occitan Orthodox Church which promoted several written books from the Davidian faith while rejecting other darker ones as false prophecies. He constructed a massive monastery in the capital for the Church and assigned Knights to escort the missionaries calling them Imperial Templars. Emperor Solomon then ordered the construction of a massive road system with massive bridges to and from the capital island to the mainland and for aqueducts to be built around the country to provide water to all. He also had public fountains built in the capital and abroad in larger cities in the kingdom. Emperor Solomon died aged 76 in the year 632 AFM, and though he was replaced by his nephew Jean Augustine, he was remembered in a positive light.

Jean Augustine had a very calm reign overseeing some minor cultural changes with the import of faraway foods completely changing the types of things people ate and the first couscous farms propping up in the south. He crushed a small revolt in Loire and moved the capital four miles over to the eastern coastline of the island naming it Bois-de-Rose after the large Rosewood trees that grow on the island that were used as luxury wood and even farmed to an extent in the east of the island. He died at the age of 62 in the year 673. His son, Charles I Augustine was more significant promoting a new style of clothing and architecture, he wore pants, once considered the clothes of barbarians, brought into style the Phyrigian cap and started the trend of capital citizens wearing an orange sash to symbolize their loyalty to the government. He was a diplomatic leader making alliances and trade agreements while negotiating with would-be revolutionaries, and he established a centralized bank which began minting Imperial coins. He invested in modernizing the navy and brought it to being a high standard navy and expanded the nation's control along the frontiers building outposts and walls with gates for passage at several mountain passes. Towards the end of his life, he disbanded the Templars seeing them as bothersome and a threat to the monarchy. He died at the old age of 84 after 61 years of rule in the year 734.

His son Francois Augustine was a more timid ruler, he avoided raising taxes and became fiscally conservative saving up coin in the kingdom's bank. Though he did not accomplish terribly much during his reign, he did make a push for public cleanliness which is suggested in the holy book. He made public statements about the importance of cleaning oneself to others and themselves and the church responded by supporting these claims. During his reign the guitar became the instrument of the Commoners, Common Bourgeoisie, and Merchant classes of society and folk songs spread throughout the Kingdom. His leadership saw the completion of many of the roads and aqueducts that Emperor Solomon began the construction of, and an Imperial Militia was established towards the end of his reign acting as a police force. Francois died at the age of 63 after 18 years of rule in the year 752 AFM.

Francois's son Jean Augustine was an effective, though dismissed ruler, he formally accepted the Lunar Calendar as the Kingdom's calendar. During his reign the military saw advancements in their siege equipment with the trebuchet being adopted in the year 757 and pikemen and crossbows being introduced in the 760s. He was notorious for not being able to bear a male child, and twice a nephew of his tried to overthrow his leading to him passing a law which modified the royal line so that if the King had no male children, that the eldest daughter would become the head of state as Empress, a title non-existent to this point with the title Queen used for the Emperor's wife. Francois died in the year 799 at the age of 65 after 47 years of rule.

His daughter, Elise Augustine was a prominent figure and Empress of the nation, when she ascended to the throne a civil war was initiated with the House of Parmagna, one of her Uncle's families headed by the pretender Augustine II of Pargmagna rebelling against him. They clashed for ten years with her Uncle controlling the cities in the land of the Red Concordat effectively before she sent a force of 6,000 Imperial Militiamen to subdue the revolt. They clashed against the 8,000 man pretender army and with Elise's leadership, managed to defeat them in the Battle of the Forge, a small, very pro-Parmagnan part of the land of the Red Concordat. With her victory, the nation's mixed views on her legitimacy shifted and she became highly respected, winning in a naval war against the Dalmaticans a former power to the south. Her reign saw the Atlas Lion become the national symbol as the nation had, since it's inception, not lost a war against a foreign power. Elise also oversaw a shift in the culture with religious revivalism occurring and many saying her coronation is proof of the holy book's truth in regards to equality. When she accepted this it only further cemented her power. Empress Elise died in the year 841 at the age of 68 after 42 years of rule.

Her son, Francois II Augustine became a religious leader, he strengthened the church, giving it funds to study god's cosmos leading to the first observatories being constructed. He also re-established the Templar, this time naming them the Imperial Occitan Orthodox Templar, and gave the head of the Church, or the High Priest, advisory status in the government. During this time agricultural farming was good, and the faith spread beyond the borders due to missionaries being transported with armed templar guards. Several religious monuments such as the Pillars of Guidance, the Temple of David, and the Museum of Adam were created. Francois' reign was otherwise calm, he combated piracy in the Southern Sea, but otherwise, the nation remained stable and had a growing economy. He died at the age of 69 in the year 878 after 37 years of rule.

His son Jean II Augustine was a poor ruler who at times threatened the financial collapse of the Empire. The economy slowed under his rule, because, out of fear, he dared not combat the pirates in the Southern Sea leading to a spike in piracy. His advisers walked over him, and he knew it and accepted it. During his rule the Burghers and Bourgeoisie gained in power and the nobles suffered. After nineteen years of rule in 897 his brother gained the favor of the advisers who demanded he abdicate the throne to his brother. And so he did.

His Brother, Francois III Augustine was far more effective, he saw the diminishing power of the nobles outside of his family, and he liked it. He helped the upper class Bourgeoisie gain more power making them economically as powerful as the nobles, and when his advisers got upset that he hadn't fallen into their hands as his brother had. He had them dismissed and arrested. He then invested in a stronger Navy and four years later began the strongest anti-piracy campaign in history, he had the imperial militia raid pirate havens and the navy begin bombarding city states that knowingly harbored pirates that were active in the Sunrise Empire's sea territory. But most importantly he created new trade agreements that helped restore the economy to it's former height. He died aged 61 in the year 918 after 21 years of rule considered to have been the savoir of the Empire.

His son, Charles II is the current Emperor, at the age of 34, he is still fairly young, but has served as an Admiral and General at times during the Anti-Piracy campaigns. Being named after the great Charles I, his ascendance to the throne has been marked by the return of the Phyrigian cape and of sashes with robes and other old clothing from the early Empire coming back into appeal. He has restructured the Army to be more modern with heavier armored cavalry, light horse archers, crossbowmen, moderately armored pikemen and other strong forces that have helped re-establish the Empire as a great power. However, for the first time in hundreds of years the people have wanted expansion, demanding the Empire spread it's domain over lesser neighbors, and for the first time in hundreds of years. It has a leader who shares that desire.

( only if you want magic users) Magic Users ( What are they called, how many of them are there? What are their powers? Give a general description of them): None, most magics are looked on as cheap lies.

When you make your app, your app will decide for the entirety of IC what that region of the map looks like. I made my nation borderline Taiga, so now much of the north in my area of the map is also borderline taiga. So far, down south with the orange and yellow countries is pretty close to what you want.

Oh well could you pick an area with plentiful farmland easy for growing crops. That's really what I meant my region to be. I really could care less where you put it.

There seems to be two different maps going around, some missing previous nations, I can work on a correct map of those accepted so far unless someone else would like to instead?

Capital: Carlon
Leader/s and title: Lexe Marosis Naphine ("Voted" Marosis Naphine)

Religion: Pephis Pantheon
General rundown of mythology: The Pantheon is an amalgamation of differing religious beliefs and doctrines. They are tiered depending on the age of the faith, relative power of the god and how closely linked it is to the primary trinity. However the primary understanding of the Pantheon's belief structure is that the gods govern existence from a land found high above the clouds. The Pentagon are so powerful that they cannot interact with the human kingdoms, instead creating lesser gods who can.
Afterlife description: For the Pantheon of the Fangs afterlife is the land of the gods. After death, the soul is weighed. If it is light enough due to the person having committed more good deeds than bad then the soul can live with the gods. If not, then it must stay on the mortal plane.
Primary Gods:
- Pephis: Pephis is a gender neutral god who was the first thing to be in existence. They did not simply create the universe, they were the universe. Everything that could be seen, and everything that could not be seen, was Pephis. In depiction, Pephis is illustrated as being the circle on the edge of a painting. They have no interaction with mortals.
- Oromo: Goddess of the Above. She is depicted as long-limbed, her black hair coming down to her knees. Her domain is Azure and realm of the gods. She has no interaction with mortals.
- - Hala: God of Aether. He is depicted as a slender man wrapped in a blanket of clouds. His domain is the air. He is linked with the weather.
- - Sut: Goddess of Empyrean. She is depicted as a broad woman with red hair or as the sun. Her domain is the high skies. She is linked with light.
- Nyki: God of the Seen. He is depicted as a bulky man, short and with a short heard. His domain is Earth and the realm of mortals. He has no interaction with mortals.
- Pala: Goddess of the Below. She is depicted as the youngest of the high gods, blonde hair always kept in a tight braid. Her domain is the land beneath and realm of the beasts. She has no interaction with mortals.
- Asi: God of the Between. He is depicted as wearing a crown, with red hair. His domain is that which is between the sky, earth and the underworld, as well as the realm of the unseen. He has no interaction with mortals.
Demons: The spirits of those who were unable to enter Azure. They become vengeful after the death of their families and being unable to leave the mortal plane.
Religious leaders: The Baan are flock leaders, looking after a specific religious site and all of the civilians who worship there. The Lexe is considered the highest religious leader but that is more a ceremonial position.
Commandments:
- Honour the gods
- Live a good life
- Protect your family
- Serve your home

Holidays: There are no recognised annual holidays, local customs holding true in this respect. The only universally recognised holiday is the day after a octium's disbandment. To honour the gods no commercial trade is permitted, the Senators instead forced to pay for food and drink for the day's celebrations. Sometimes an individual hoping to gain public support will pay for it their self.
Customs: A coloured braid is a common courtship gift. Farmhands who are unable to work due to age or infirmity are encouraged to become assistants to religious figures. Those who falsify their military exploits (by wearing their hair in the military fashion or outright lying about serving) are ostracized by their community. This goes as far as direct relatives disowning them.
Gender roles: Women run the household, form friendships, marry freely, bear children. Men work, support their family, die for their home.
Family structure: direct relatives who you are obliged to support and protect (spouse, siblings, parents, children) -> related relatives who you are expected to support and protect (grand-parents, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins) -> distant relatives who you are generally accepted as supporting and protecting (great-grandparents, great-uncles, great-aunt, great-niece, great-nephew, second-cousins) -> kinsman are those who bear the family name but who you may not have even seen before (related in some respect)
Fashion: Light cloaks and loose-fitting tunics are the norm. Short boots for outdoors and slippers for within a building. Long hair among men and women, with beards kept quite long, although mustaches are generally shaved off. Hair dye is widespread among those with money. For military men, short, oiled hair and clean-shaven faces are enforced. This style is maintained even after returning to civilian life.
How and or when does one reach adulthood?: Sixteen is generally accepted as the age when one can begin to make their own decisions, though eighteen is when they truly become independent adults. For nobles however, even twenty year-olds are expected to remain submissive to their parents.
Marriage: Nominally arranged, however both participants must agree to it without coercion
Music: They like their violins, flutes, drums. Also enjoyed are harps.
Most important virtue in life: Diligence

Terrain/s present in nation: Rolling fields (majority), with forested valleys (south-eastern) and a minor range of mountains (south-west)
Agriculture, fishing, hunting: Agriculture
- How bountiful your harvests are and what crops you mostly grow: Generally favourable - wheat and barely, goats and pigs
What is the exchange system: coins

Number of people: Recent consensus puts it around one million
Nomadic or stationary: stationary
Does slavery exist: Yes, with a 2:1:9 split between slaves, indentured servants and freedmen
Describe the appearance of your average male and female citizen:
Military: ~60,000 professionals
- Ocyria: Military unit 4,200 strong. There are a total of twelve permanent Ocyria within the military. It is comprised of eight Octium. Commanded by a Hathan
- - Octium: Subdivision 521 strong. This is a semi-independent fighting unit, comprised of eight Occin. Commanded by a Hoplatus
- - - Occin: Unit 65 strong. This is the smallest permanent fighting unit. Commanded by a Daero
- - - - Yarocissin: Squad 8 strong. This is the base formation of the military unit. Commanded by a Phoxon.
Those soldiers within the Ocyria are collectively called Capanii, leading to the distinction of Capanii Ocyria. They are expected to provide a deposit for the equipment they receive from the senate, with the size of deposit dictating what armament they receive. Generally speaking, there is a 1/2/1/2 division between skirmishers, heavy spearmen, skirmisher cavalry, lancer cavalry.
There are also professional soldiers who do not join the Ocyria for various reasons. Instead, they join the Pelites Ocyria. The Pelites Ocyria function as the maritime and patrol element of the military, garrisoning settlements and forts deep within friendly territory and manning the war galleys which ward off pirates from the shipping lanes. They are termed Milites collectively and tend to have a higher proportion of skirmishers and the inclusion of lighter infantry as it is deemed a less glorifying service than the Capanii Ocyria. Generally speaking, there is a 2/1/1/1/1 division between skirmishers, light infantry, heavy spearmen, skirmisher cavalry, lancer cavalry.
Political System: Cair Lyn Direct Democracy (Large landowning families send one representative to the Council Senate. They hold the authority over how much money is taken from the treasury. Possible laws are voted for in the Senate and then given to the magistrates, who either take it to the people or veto it)
Main mode of travel: Foot
What powers do your civs' leader/s posses; how do they gain power?: The Lexe. This title is held by the man who received the majority of votes. They keep it for five years before passing it on to their successor. They have authority over administration, legislature and the military, although are still answerable to the Senate.
Distinct Caste in your society?: menial slave, skilled slave, menial servant, skilled servant, house slave, house servant, free foreigner, free slave, free worker, free craftsman, free woman, merchant, small landowner, large landowner, appointed noble, hereditary noble, Grya
Flaws inherent in your society: While class promotion is surprisingly attainable for most men, foreigners can never remove the stigma of not being born in the country.

History: For many centuries the land now known as Patagon was part of the larger grazing grounds for the nomadic Ya'an people, a multinational culture of tribes and clans who herded great packs of horses and bison. Warfare was generally sporadic, skirmishes between tribes amounting to nothing more fatal than a dozen deaths. This changed with the appearance of the Grya. This people settled around Lynn Folo within a matter of weeks, throwing up a web of interlocking settlements. Between them, they had divided the land. For the Ya'an this was a new phenomenon. They did not understand why someone would want to remain in the same place for more than a few weeks, tilling the land for a few seeds instead of following the beasts of flesh and leather.
Peace and commerce was the relationship between settled and nomadic for a few years. Yet ever year that the first tribes of the great migratory Ya'an made their way by Lynn Folo they discovered that another portion of the land had been cultivated, stone dykes and stakes marking the boundary. As each year passed, fewer and fewer made the movement by Lynn Folo as a result. Soon enough there was not enough free land to keep the Ya'an during their autumn journey in to Patagon, a situation which led to a confederation of the nomads to remove the Grya before they encroached anymore on the ancient grazing fields.
The Grya had thrived in their mountain holdfasts, excavating great settlements out of sight of the wandering onlooker. They had taken to the valley floor across Patagon, villages nestling against fast-flowing rivers and rainwater sustaining lakes. Civil war had come quickly to them, creating a martial tradition they kept alive more out of pride than any real love for war. This factor was key for their eventual victory over the nomads.
The Grya not only defeated the Ya'an confederacies which declared war, they also forced them to settle on Grya land. It was this forced vassalage which saw the beginning of the Senate. The Grya tribes and clans united together as a single people, naming Carlon as the foremost settlement of the new nation. It is here that the senate first met, wisemen who had harnessed the arcane to develop such advancements in architecture and metallurgy to raise the tribes from division to civilised unity within half a century.
At first Carlon had a ruling family, a pure bloodline of the Grya hero who accepted the first Ya'an chieftain as vassal. However they were killed during a great rebellion comprised almost entirely of foreign-born citizens. This rebellion, the Thousand Sunderings, was the catalyst for xenophobia within the nation. The royal family had been beloved and with their deaths the surviving leaders played to the public's anger by legalising chattel slavery and ensuring that those born outside of the Senate's authority were considered as little better than slaves.

Magic Users: The Grya, the founding tribe of Carlon. They possess arcane knowledge of metallurgy, as well as the ability to see in to the future. Now the term Grya relates to a specific community of metalsmiths and seers who reside within the highest mountain strongholds and among certain religious centers. Individually they are the most revered people within the nation although their actual authority is very limited.

He dies honorably in battle and that earned him his deity powers as the God of Honor, his wife later died of a barbarian attack. A large group of barbarians attacked, raped, and killed his wife and her farm which caused the wrath of Devion to be unleashed because, of this Devions name and his family's story is known across the land of Devijak and possibly in other unknown lands. His wife when killed lives on to receive deity powers and become the God of Plentiful Harvests after having held the family farm togehter for so many years on her own with such nice harvests.

Flaws inherent in your society: The populace is mostly uneducated farmers which means most people will be working on farms instead of being in the military making the military inherently very low on numbers.

History of your civilization: Prador started out as a small little tribe known as the Pra'doric. They were founded and lead by one of the first intelligent men of the world, Gavienus. He led his tribe into a peaceful and stationary life expanding outwards gaining more and more lands until he died. His whole life was spent expanding his tribes land until they had enough to become a kingdom. Several king's after him all spent their lives expanding the kingdom's prosperity and harvest. Until the 17 king came along. He was a man of honesty and honorability until he lost his family and became a bitter old man. He waged war and forgot his faith and caused turmoil across the land. A drought hit and the Kingdom of Prador severely suffered. People got little harvests and many wars were lost until Prador became a much reduced kingdom. The 21st king, King Huidemar has spent his lifetime as the other two kings after the 18th rebuilding the kingdom's prosperity. Now the kingdom is stable enough and prosper enough King Hudeimar considers going to war for more land.

Civilization name ( in native language): Sverige
Language name: Svarjol
Nation on map: (Dark Purple)
Image

Capital: Stockhorum
Leader/s and title: King Gustav Svalbard

Religion ( if any) name: Church of the Eternal Flame
General rundown of mythology: When the world was in its primordial state there were four powerful beings who each had a vast army. One ruled the heavens(Autocrat of Sunlight), another ruled over hell(Lord of Flame), one over the material plane(Material One), and the last one (Ygnogthol) over the Void. They all worked together to serve and help the mortals but this equilibrium did not last long. The Autocrat of Sunlight grew jealous of the Material One and conspired with the Lord of Flame to slay him. Material One was slain and his blood showered over the mortals giving them the comprehension of morality. Then Autocrat of Sunlight and Lord of Flame banished Ygnogthol to the darkest recess of the cosmos. Finally Autocrat of Sunlight betrayed Lord of Flame and absorbed him into himself then becoming the Lord of Cinder. With the vast celestial war over the Lord of Cinder now watches over humanity after giving them the gift of fire.
Afterlife ( if any) description: Acheron-realm of punishment for the evil; Elysium Fields-realm of splendor for the righteous; Asphodel-realm for average people; Pandemonium-realm of the insane

History of your civ:
Around six hundred years ago the Sverige lived in the most hot and arid southern part of the Continent and were frequently persecuted by a long-dead empire. One fateful day the leader of this ancient empire begun to realize that his empire was crumbling and about to shatter, desperate for a cause to unify his people and divert their anger somewhere else he used the Sverige as a scapegoat. A mass genocide was conducted with only half of the Sverige people escaping. The remaining bands started migrating northwards often being harassed by the local people; the combined forces of unfavorable climates, hostile people, and virulent geography made them extremely bitter. For 20 years they migrated until they arrived at one of the northernmost coastlines, the king at the time, King Cedric, declared that they would settle here since it was far away from most civilized people and the nearly uninhabited area was home to only a few small tribal groups.

After Cedric's death the Sverige people quickly divided themselves into several minor squabbling fiefdoms. A continuous cycle of war left the Sverige people battered and battle fatigued always yearning for even the most short-live peace. This cycle continued for around 440 years until the son of a minor noble manged to unite the Sverige under one ruler. The new king, Gustav, made several revolutionary reforms including the outlawing of slavery and stripping away the nobility of their power. He centralized the state and made several social reforms to give the Sverige people a sense of unity. After only ruling for 10 years he has made multiple reforms including the creation of a standing army, environmental conservation efforts, and universal suffrage.

Magic Users ( What are they called, how many of them are there? What are their powers? Give a general description of them):
In Sverige magic users form .01% of the population and there are four classes of magic users: sorcerers, pyromancers, clerics, and hexers.
Sorcerers are offensive focused, while others can be used to manipulate sound, the mind, and light. Pyromancers have control over fire and can also manipulate certain biological processes. Clerics are a school of magic that deal with healing, force, and lightning. Hexers are the rarest class and deal with more taboo areas such as necromancy, mind altering, and psychosis.

Finished, I think.

Civilization name : Marhusreik (The people are the Marhusfrauja)
Language name: Razda
Nation on map:
Capital: Thiudabaurg (Also the only permant settlement)
Leader/s and title: Euric, sunaus Jaramir, sunaus Ellac; Haugh Thiudans. (Euric, son of Jaramir, son of Ellac; High King)

Religion name: Himinsguth
General rundown of mythology: Himinsguth is a very simple religion. There is one god, Himnis, the God of the Endless Sky. The Marhusfrauja are his chosen people, and Himnis has given the earth to them, to conquer. The Marhusfrauja believe they have been given a divine mandate to conquer the entire earth and subdue the haithns (non-believers). Birds of Prey are the sacred creatures of Himnis, and seeing a bird of prey before battle is a good omen.
Afterlife description: Feasting and Hunting on the "Great Steppe" for the righteous, where they shall be served by the haithn. The unrighteous shall be annihilated with fire.
God: Himnis - God of the Sky.
Demons/Devils: None.
Religious Human leaders: The Haugh Gudja (High Priest) offers sacrifice of animals (hunslblot) and conducts religious ceremonies. He is assisted by the Alhsuni (singular: Alhsunus), who are the priests and oracles of the faith.
Commandments: Honor your oaths and pacts, slay no kinsman, steal nothing from your fellow believers, and subdue the haithns.
Holidays: Thiudansdag - The First Day of the Year, in which all chiefs and lords come to the Thiudabaurg and swear their loyalty to the High King. This is followed by a week of feasting, and ends with a great hunt.
Customs: The High King is given a immense deal of reverence. In formal situations, all present lay themselves prostrate before the king until he gives them permission to rise. (This is ignored in battle and in casual situations, for obvious reasons.)
Gender roles: Men fight, hunt, and lead, women cook, clean, and do work around the home.
Family structure: Patriarchal family structure, with the father as leader of the household. Men may have only one wife, but can have as many concubines as they wish. Wives must be Marhusfrauja, but Concubines can be of any people. There is a great emphasis on family bonds, and family loyalty is paramount. Wives are held in high regard, while concubines receive no special social status. Adoption is frequent, especially of the children of a slain brother or friend.

History of your civ:

The Marhusfrauja have long lived on the Steppe, but were only united under King Ellac the Great. Ellac was a tribal chieftain, and the Marhusfrauja were divided, and quarreled among themselves. But the God Himnis spoke to Ellac and his brother Regin, and commanded him to unite the tribes, and told them of the Marhusfrauja's destiny to rule the world. Ellac and Regin then began a campaign to unify the Marhusfrauja. Some tribes joined willingly, others were bribed, and others had to be forced. But after thirty years of warfare, the Marhusfrauja were united. Ellac was made the first High King, and Regin the High Priest. The Marhusfrauja wreaked havok upon their neighbors, pillaging and enslaving all those who would not submit. Upon Ellac's death, he was succeeded by his son Jaramir, who led the Marhusfrauja, already legendary horsemen, to conquer several nearby tribes. However, after reigning for only fourteen years, Jaramir was killed in battle with rebels. He was then succeeded by his son, Euric, a charismatic man, who plans to continue his ancestors' legacy, and bring all the earth under the dominion of the Marhusfrauja. Euric has since tightened control over the clans, and has been preparing the Marhusfrauja for invasion.

Magic Users: None, although the Priests and Oracles claim to be able to see the future.

Civilization name: Albion
Language name: Albion Language
Nation on map: Britain, wales and half Scotland
Capital: Whiteshire
Leader/s and title: Holy Emperor Louis XXIV von Saex - Gotha

Religion name: The cult of the Great Sun
Civilization name: Albion
Language name: Old Sript, Runes
Nation on map: Albion
Capital: Whiteshire
Leader/s and title: The Emperor as High Priest

Religion name: The cult of the Great Sun
General rundown of mythology:
It was formerly only one of various religions in the Empire, popular only in its core regions. This situation changed during reign of the predecessor of Emperor Louis II, about Thousands of years ago, who initiated a series of major reforms. The ruler was looking for a symbol which would unite the realm better and more permanently than only the ruling dynasty. By skillfully managing with cash and giving priests his monarchic favor, he made the cult begin to gain a new crowd of followers throughout the whole Empire. In exchange, the Emperor demanded absolute support for his policies from the clergy, practically making priesthood another form of civil service.

Then the monarch issued a special decree called "April 8th Edict" which granted the cult the status of official state religion. Though during reign of the Usurper its rights were diminished, its position increased after Louis X and his army overthrew the usurper. The cult has its roots in the Old cult of nature. The primary deity is the Sun, giver of warmth and life, protector of humankind, but also capable of being cruel and destructive. Since the "April 8th Edict" it has also been the patron of the ruling dynasty. The central ceremonies are held in the capital, performed by the Imperator acting as the High Priest, head of the religion.

Priests of the cult wear white raiments embroidered in gold and silver during devotions, celebrations, and holidays; as casual clothes they wear black civilian dress.

Afterlife description: We are all dust from stars, we'll return to our beginnings.
God/s?: The Sun
Demons/Devils?: N/A
Religious Human leaders?: The Emperor
Commandments: Praise the Sun
Holidays: The most important holidays are the Equinoxes and birthday of the current Imperator, currently July 26.
Customs: All holidays are celebrated with great pomp, to the accompaniment of solemn music and in the presence of all major officials, commanders, and aristocrats. After official ceremonies, folk games with food and beverage take place.
Gender roles:
Family structure:
The basic units of society were households and families. Households included the head (usually the father) of the household, pater familias (father of the family), his wife, children, and other relatives. In the upper classes, slaves and servants were also part of the household. The head of the household had great power (patria potestas, "father's power") over those living with him: He could force marriage (usually for money) and divorce, sell his children into slavery, claim his dependents' property as his own, and even had the right to punish or kill family members.

Patria potestas even extended over adult sons with their own households: A man was not considered a paterfamilias, nor could he truly hold property, while his own father lived. During the early period of Albion's history, a daughter, when she married, fell under the control (manus) of the paterfamilias of her husband's household, although this fell out of fashion, as a woman could choose to continue recognizing her father's family as her true family. However, as Albions reckoned descent through the male line, any children she had belonged to her husband's family.

Not much affection was allowed to be shown to the children. The mother or an elderly relative, often raised both boys and girls, and unwanted children were often sold as thralls. Children might have waited on tables for the family, but they were not allowed to participate in adult conversations.

A pedagogue usually taught the children in the common tongue; the father, the boys how to swim and ride, although he sometimes hired a slave to teach them instead. At seven, a boy began his education. Having no school building until later, classes were held on a rooftop (if dark, the boy had to carry a lantern to school). Wax-covered boards were used because paper, papyrus, and parchment were too expensive - or he could just write in the sand. A loaf of bread to be eaten was also carried. Of course, rich boys had their materials carried by a slave.

Groups of related households formed a family (gens). Families were based on blood ties or adoption, but were also political and economic alliances.

Fashion: Silk, leather, jewelry and fur is very used among the people of Albion.
How and or when does one reach adulthood?: Men and women at 15 years old.
Marriage: Marriage was often regarded more as a financial and political alliance than as a romantic association, especially in the upper classes. Fathers usually began seeking husbands for their daughters when these reached an age between twelve and fourteen. The husband was usually older than the bride. While upper class girls married very young, there is evidence that lower class women often married in their late teens or early 20s.

Most important virtue in life: Survival of the fittest

Terrain/s present in nation: Temperate broadleaf forest.
Agriculture, fishing, hunting; which is the most prominent source of food in your civ?: Agriculture.
(Only agriculture) tell how bountiful your harvests are and what crops you mostly grow: The numerous rivers that run across their expanse are used for trading and the transport of goods. In times of peace fisherfolk in skiffs and grain barges pole downstream and merchants on floating ships sail on the rivers. Wine can be made from small, tart grapes grown in the riverlands.
(Exchange system) how are items bought and sold in your civ: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 banknotes, Moneylenders and bankers join guilds to protect their patrimony. With so much trade on the rivers, villagers will haul their grain and other goods to it to see it sold and carried elsewhere by the merchants.

Number of people living in your civ: Near 1,000,000

Does slavery exist: Yes (Thralldom)

What powers do your civs' leader/s posses; how do they gain power?: Meritocratic.
Distinct Caste in your society?: Nobility, Smallfolk and Thralls.
Flaws inherent in your society: The bourgeoisie wants more rights and political participation

History of your civ: According to legend, having brought together the warring tribes of Albion under one flag, Charles Longsword established the first empire Thousands of years ago. But Charles's reign later came to a horrific end through a holy man that he imprisoned in the Tower of Conviction. The holy man proclaimed the king's sins in the midst of every possible torture until God sent his "apostles" to punish Charles for his proud. While the event is fully known, it ended with the capital of Charles's kingdom buried underground with its dead having been branded on their foreheads. According to old script, explains that the current ruler's family descended from him, Charles's disappearance caused his empire to dissolve into small kingdoms before being united by his son Louis the Great.

Especially since Albion back then was an unorganized mess which was contested by 10s of lords. A lot of his app is modern day stuff and his banknotes are in American money style. Lol that's sad. No imagination. By the way the bank notes in Britain aren't like that first off their in Euros but lol.
