Operation Slingshot's initial specifications were received by the plant, a plant which has had experience producing armored vehicles before, but with the exception of one, most of the vehicles produced were wheeled vehicles. The tank was to be a radical departure from previous vehicles designed by the plant which were lightly armored, but mounting the requested large caliber gun is certainly doable, being only slightly bigger than the plant normally mounts on a day to day basis. According to the government, this was to be a commonwealth only vehicle design, however none of the engineers buy that, as this tank seems to be a departure from traditional Commonwealth doctrine. The project probably has another foreign sponsor the engineers suspect that it is the Confederacy, but they have no solid proof of that, and the government will remove them from their jobs if they reveal anything, so they stayed quiet. The biggest challenge came in the form of the armor, what the project required was a large armored vehicle with heavy armor. After a few hours of discussion the engineers submitted a first draft of the tank to the War Department.
