The soldiers were woken once again in the usual method-and this time, sent straight off to breakfast. A collection of high-carb, high-protein foods, peanut butter and bananas, hard-boiled eggs, and other assorted items. The mess hall attendant gave them a knowing stare as he advised them-"Eat up."

Assad wasn't exactly thrilled with waking up, and he wasn't looking forward to eating either. Deep down, something was screaming for him to just run away from the base, but he wasn't sure how to carry it out.

Curious, he walked over to the tiny girl who had went over the firing line---Doe, he thought her name was. Nervously, Assad decided to start innocent, and sighed. "Mind if I sit here?"

Sitting next to her, Assad picked at his food before looking at her. "So . . . um . . ." He rubbed his face, annoyed with himself. "Look, I don't know if I can take this place anymore."

"OK . . ." Assad took a breath. "I'm lost, alright? I'm very lost. Inside. I'm lost in my own head, and I don't know where to look for myself. I left Syria because I need to find myself, and now I'm stuck here. I don't know how to tell people I'm lost." He gestured to where Tiffany was sitting. "This bitch over there wouldn't listen, didn't understand a single thing that came out of my mouth. I tell her I need someone to talk to and she accuses me of stalking her." Assad looked back at Doe. "I don't know what to do anymore. I . . . I just . . . don't know . . . I want to leave, but . . . I know I can't or I shouldn't . . . I mean in a way I liked her, for the love of God, and . . . either she ruined it or I ruined it, and . . . now I feel like I'm running around in circles in my head and I can't stop."

Assad continued to look at her, trying not to explode into a sobbing mess. ". . . OK." There are times where I don't want to be right . . . come on, just stop running, stop. He nervously bit into one of the hard-boiled eggs, trying to see if even a little something in his stomach would help. He had heard the advice of not to eat while you're angry or upset before, because it ruins digestion, but he didn't have any time to avoid eating now. He glanced back at Doe. "How do I tell someone I like them without looking like an idiot?"

He stood straight, his stomach sucked in to the point where his ribs jut out, and tried to swallow past his heart beating in his throat. "Um . . . Tiffany? The coup planning was going along ever so smoothly at a reasonable pace that would have the coup ready in the last week of August, as the Confederate agents set up shop in a small convenience store that would attract no suspicion, as it was made to resemble the average Venezuela's supermarkets as much as possible. With recent riots in the country it was almost certain that the coup's leaders were going to be supported by the vast majority of the population, and by much of the disgruntled upper class who would welcome a change away from the ruinous socialism that destroyed their fortunes. With covert negotiations completed between leaders of the opposition, and representatives of the upper class it was clear that they would support the coup as long as the government completes its transition to democracy within 5 years and adopt trade with the world, most particularly food resources, which are to be considered the top priority. The Confederacy gladly lent its aid. The former US Signal Corps now the CS Signal Corps was to provide complete command and control over the coup, being one of the finest command and control groups in the entire world, the coup supporters would have a major advantage, being able to coordinate their responses better than the loyalist counterparts. Furthermore, the Confederacy also secretly deployed the 20th Special Forces Group to the country disguised as tourists who were claiming a one month vacation, they were deployed in waves to not arouse suspicion, given almost impeccably forged visas, there was no reason why the government should be concerned.

Support among the military was almost completely secured most of whom were sick and tired of the disaster of a president which has caused riots, much like what happened 14 years ago. The Venezuelan Air Force once again was one of the most enthusiastic supporters of the coup against the government, only outdone by the navy who hated the government even more. There support allowed the Confederacy to deploy their troops in case the coup needs to get messy, the CSA promised the support of the 11th Airborne Division if the situation came up for its use. The officers in the air base, most notably the higher ups have almost all pledged their support for the coup. The Air Force's pilots all come from well to do families who now detest the government, and with their support came one of the prizes of the coup the state of the art Su-30, one of Russia's jewels that the Confederacy was eager to get its hands on. The navy's captains come from much the same background and feel even less love for the government. With their support came the navy which would allow the CSA to start shipment of goods immediately to the country, and more importantly the marines which would be used to secure coastal key objectives. Most notably the northern coastal cities, while the army focuses on Caracas and the neighboring cities. There would be 3 simultaneous strikes, under the joint name of Operation Meskhenet.

The coup in Caracas would be called Operation Userkaf, the largest operation of the Triplet Operations. The involved units would be the cream of the cream, the most dedicated formation of them all would lead the 4th Armored division one of the only formations where its loyalty is completely assured, and only led by people that the coup could trust personally. Made up of many people tired of the president, with a large part of the Presidential Honor Guard even being persuaded to be part of the coup as well, and they could be trusted as well. The initial plan would involve the 4th Armored Division rolling tanks into the streets and proclaiming an end to the unpopular regime, and throw in their lot with the currently numerous protesters. Free food delivered by the Confederate States of America would be distributed to the starving people, who had gone without a good meal for quite some time. At the same time the Presidential Honor Guard would launch a coup inside the presidential palace take out the command and control. The Confederate 40th Spec Ops would be given locations of potential loyalist generals, if it is possible arrest them and if not then the elimination of these targets would also be acceptable. The 4th Armored would also confine suspected loyalist police and militia into their quarters and barracks to ensure that they do not interfere. Meanwhile, a specially picked group would hijack news stations, declaring an end to the current government, and declaring the constitution void on all major news stations, with the majority of the news stations in Caracas made the whole thing a lot easier. All the while the air force would do flybys with their jets all over the city, not to attack but merely to intimidate. Since all social media was shutdown it would make the coup even easier.

The pacification efforts in Maracaibo would be supported by the marines, reliable troops who are loyal to the coup. The marines would secure police and militia barracks to make sure that no opposition is to occur, take out any news stations in the city to broadcast an emergency message. They would also go to city hall hold guns to the politicians heads, and force them to read a declaration in the middle of City Hall that the old government was dissolved and the transitional government has been instated, the constitution currently will be suspended until the drafting of a new constitution which will be done immediately as soon as possible. The military will assume all civilian authorities until the transition to a democratic state. With recent polls, it seems that the people would receive the revolution favorably if it was to succeed. The coup in Valencia was to follow much of the same pattern. After the initial shock it was also decided that the Confederacy would deploy the 11th Airborne Division to suppress any loyalist counter revolutions.

With the planning nearly finalized it was only a matter of time before the Confederacy delivered the kick that would send the rotten barn down.
