A little, shiny baby dragon the color of a golden coin, who looked at Ryujin with big, multichromatic eyes and then sneezed.

Ryujin blinked, his jaws parting just slightly.

That's adorable.

Ryujin hugged his daughter, who was about the same size as he was now, and laughed. "I didn't know you could turn into a dragon. You're just the cutest little thing I ever saw."

To Ryujin, while human babies were adorable, it was sort of like comparing, for a human, a human baby to a puppy to compare a hatchling to a human baby. While Niji was adorable either way, this was even better.

"How long's she been able to do that?" Ryujin tilted his head, looking up at Ama.

Amaterasu looked befuddled, but proud. "She's never done it before. This is the first time. She's so adorable..."

Niji sneezed again, a sort of meowy sneeze. Then her scales blushed from gold, to rose, to scarlet, and she almost seemed to smirk, pleased with her accomplishment.

"You're a little dragon now, Niji. I didn't know you could do that." His tail flicked excitedly, notably lacking it's usual blade in such a young state. "Now no biting anyone, it hurts."

Her scales turned blue. She looked very disappointed.

Ryujin snorted with a little bit of amusement, then hopped down and grew into a slightly larger form, about the size of a human, and leaned down, gingerly taking hold of the looser scales on the back of the baby's neck, as he had with Otohime when she was younger, making sure to leave her wings free, now that she was in the air.

"Try again, little one."

"Slow down, I've got you," he had to admit that it was cute to see her trying to flap her wings, but he was obliged to help, at least. She wouldn't be able to fly for a long period of time at her age, or so he thought, but if she wanted to fly, then she would fly, "Up and down."

"You know what's funny?" she asked between bites. "Technically, I'm thousands of years old, even if I look like a teenager. But I really feel like one, right now," she said with a laugh. He chuckled. "Well, I'm not really sure...but I'm glad that you're happy. There's nothing that makes me feel better than seeing you in a good mood." He said, lifting one of her hands and kissing it gently before he smiled. "I'm so happy that you're the one I'll be married to forever..."

She blinked. He'd kissed her hand. Now that, that was adorable. Sweet, chivalrous, and absolutely, completely Cade. It was so wonderful of him to always be so considerate of her, always trying to make sure that he didn't scare her or make her feel unsafe, taking things as slowly as she needed to, knowing that she'd been hurt and trying to accommodate her, without even seeming to think about how it might be inconvenient for him.

She remembered one of the times that had been clearest to her...

"What happens on our wedding night? I... I mean... I know what's normal... and i-if that's what you wanted, it'd be okay... I'd be okay... I could do it, and I would if you wanted me to... I know you wouldn't hurt me... it's just that... I've never been that close to anyone except... except for... I just... I don't want to have to keep wondering about this... if that's what you want from me, it's okay... I just want to know... that's all..."

"I would never push you to do something you didn't want to do, Charlotte...and if that means that doesn't happen on our wedding nght, or the night after, or ever for that matter, I'm okay with that. I love you for you, Charlotte, not for your body or anything relating to that matter... I don't want you to ever be scared or afraid of doing something with me, okay? I don't want you to do something like this unless you absolutely want to...I don't want you to ever feel like I'm pressuring you to do something like that, I just want you to know I love you, whether we consummate a marriage or not."

Those words had been an enormous comfort. She knew, no matter what happened, that Cade would never try to get her to do something she wasn't ready for. He wouldn't hurt her or scare her, he'd never make her feel alone, and he'd always, always be there for her whenever she needed him.

She wanted to do the same for him. She made a promise to herself that she would do her very best to be there for him the same way he always was for her.

"I'm happy too," she said again. "There's no one I'd rather have by my side than you."

Chiba, having been abandoned, snuggled up next to Lux, his first person, and wagged his tail happily even whilst sleeping. Ryujin, meanwhile, moved his wings over the archangel and puppy, offering some shade to them, before dozing off again, exhausted.

"Okay, uhm... Uh... We're going to shop in New Jersey, so... Let's get pizza." Raphael said, smiling down at Otohime. "And we'll study when we get back, okaaaayyy?"

He seemed as if he was brought down a little by the mention of school.

"Pizza?" The dragoness craned her neck to look up, head tilting a bit even at that odd angle. "What's pizza?" She'd never heard of such a food, and it sounded slimy and gross to her.

He set Niji down gently, his own wings folded in, as, being indoors, he didn't really have room to spread them out, which was why he liked sleeping in the rivers or lakes when he stayed in his palace. "Go ahead now." His head was still low to the ground, so that he could catch the fledgling princess if she failed to stay in the air.

For about five seconds. Then she lost control of her muscles, being an awkward, undeveloped infant, and fell back down.

Nevertheless, her scales glowed pink with happiness.

Ryujin caught her, and while if he were a sun deity he'd be literally glowing with pride, as one of water, he'd have to settle for metaphorically. "Good job Niji, I'm proud of you." He still wasn't sure how much of what he said she actually understood, but it had to be a good deal with how she responded to most of it. He changed back to his human form, cradling her in his arms, her pink color reminding him somewhat of Otohime, and looked over at Amaterasu with a grin, "She's just absoltely adorable." He sat back down and slid next to her, "But you're still the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."

Nick

Nicolas stepped back into his room, carrying a plastic bag containing dates and chocolate that he had purchased. Running from the school to the city and vise-versa took a lot out of him, especially since he pushed himself a little harder so that Ma'at wouldn't have to wait for too long. "I'm back," he said, stopping to take a breath. "You still hungry?"

Raphael wrapped an arm around her and rested his head on hers, smiling slightly. "I know you're hungry. In fact, I hope you're very, very hungry! We're going to get a lot of pizza." he said, kissing her head a little.

After a moment, he opened the door for her into a restaurant."

"I am hungry!" Ma'at practically yelled, coming out of the shower without a towel!" Completely and utterly!"

As soon as Ma'at stepped into his view, Nick felt his heart skip a beat. The girl had just stepped out of the shower, but she had noting to cover her. Quickly, Nick dropped the bag from his hand and turned his head away, holding a hand up to the side of his face to prevent him from seeing any more. "U-um... Ma'at. What're you doing..?"

"I-It's Dates and Chocolate," Nick answered, blushing intensely. Practically every muscle in his body was tensed, and his gaze to the side of the room never faltered. "I understand that you came out to get something to eat, but would you mind putting on some clothes? Even a bathrobe would do..."

"What's wrong? I used to come out in front of my servants every day like this... they never mentioned anything!" Ma'at said, putting a hand on her hip. Then, she looked horrified and started covering herself. "You think I'm ugly, don't you!?"

"N-no! That's not it..." he answered. "It's just... Ma'at." He found himself speechless, unable to think of a way to get himself out of his current predicament. Not once had he been able to tell if she was simply teasing him, testing him as a servant, or was genuinely interested in a lowly human. It was all too much for him. After taking a deep breath, he lowered his hand and turned to her. "I shouldn't see you when you're not wearing any clothing. Many would view it as disrespectful and a violation of their privacy."

Ma'at humphed and sighed, walking into the bathroom again. "Fiiiine... but only because you asked so nicely before." she said, before closing the door and singing something loudly.
