2. I do not know where else you are going to go in such a situation-you would end up as some weird mini-faction, which I think you would find boring.
3. The war is not nearly as lost as you think it is.
4. The USA lacks the logistics to take everything over-in all likelihood, you are going to see a civil war break out.

What are you going to apply as, then? I really think that you are going to be rather less happy with something non-governmental. I thought you would especially like the political side of a fresh new government-and one that does not have to worry about invasion.

Doing the revolution-thing, the U.S. is rebuilding, in no position to invade, the Confederacy could, perhaps, but would get blasted internationally, and its military is not entirely ready, and Freedonia is not doing anything. You have a chance to put wars like this behind you until you want them.
