This year was going to be an incredible economic year for Japan, it is currently dominating in the steel industry and is soon expected to dominate in the technology scene. All was going well for Japan.

Oh, No, You Didn't

Assad doesn't hesitate to sweep the letters and treaty proposals off his desk in his office in Damascus. A sort-of nervous-looking man drops another envelope on the desk. "It's from a human rights organization, demanding you pay reparations for every enemy soldier you killed."

"If they want money given to lowlifes who tried killing my people, they should scrape up the money themselves. Many of these stupid organizations are only out to line their pockets and become seething nuisances to leaders." Assad drinks from a pot of coffee and looks at the messenger. "You go tell every other nation who wants to get up my ass that they can stick their heads up theirs for all I care."

Tawantinsuyu
State of the Kingdom

In his office, the Sapa Inca Pachacuti V was reviewing documents regarding the state of his nation. How many millions of people lived in his borders, how many Intis his nation was spending each year for different ventures. Most importantly, he was looking at the projections for the up coming Parliamentary election. Dozens of seats were in contention including the Prime Minister's own district. The current Prime Minister was far too concerned about keeping the Argentinians and Colombians placated, Pachacuti had long since determined that the only outcome for these two nations was war and he had shared this view with the President of Brazil. They had agreed to such an idea and the two Heads of State were supposed to meet within a month to discuss terms for an upcoming alliance to split the South American Continent between the two nations. There would have to be a legitimate Casus Belli, but Pachacuti was sure his people would accept reconquest as a legitimate reason for war. Some of what Colombia owns today was part of Tawantinsuyu just after independence from Spain, but lost to Colombia in the following decades.

The Middle East interacting with South America was rare, but often times necessary.
Assad arranges to meet with the Tawantinsuyu leader to discuss alliances and trade, and to see if his counterpart is like all the rest in wanting to kill him.

Tawantinsuyu
Responses

A message requesting a meeting between the Sapa Inca and the President of Syria was received at Cusco. A reply was drafted and sent to the Sapa Inca for review. A trade alliance, even with a Regional power such as Syria, could prove useful. Doubly so if they could obtain oil out of it and not have to dip into the strategic reserves as Tawantinsuyu had minimal oil reserves of its own to work from. Pachacuti gave his cousin permission to send a letter to President al-Assad inviting him to the Palace of the Inca for a visit and to discuss world events and plan a future path for both of their nations.

To President Bashar al-Assad,

The Sapa Inca would welcome a meeting between leaders. If you would come to Cusco, it would be a pleasure to host you at the Palace of the Inca. While our two nations do not yet have embassies between one another, I am sure we can arrange such a thing and create a line of permanent communication between our two states.

Barcelona, Catalonia
Barcelona is the capital of the Catalan Republic or informally Catalonia. It consists of Catalonia, Valencia, Andorra and the Balearic Islands. It's government consists of the ceremonial General-Governorate, headed by a General-Governor (head of state), the executive Minister Cabinet, headed by a party and a Prime Minister (head of government), the legislative National Council and the judiciary Supreme Court. The Catalan Republican Force is the military of Catalonia. The economy is stronger than the economy in Spain. Spain and Catalonia are still enemies.

Mallorca, Catalonia
The island of Mallorca has seen a huge number of tourists coming. This is the biggest record in Catalonia.

Paris, Franco-Iberian Empire

Here it is, Paris, the home of the most flavorful food and the de Dax dynasty. The cultural capital of Europe and the capital of a cultural and economical powerhouse, The Franco-Iberian Empire. The head of governments are King Adalbert II of Aquitaine, King Lopez of Navarre, Duke Augustine of Burgundy, Duke Wenceslas III of Savoy, and Duke Thomas of Brittany, the rest of the land including Algeria is in the Imperial Demesne of the Emperor himself, who is Emperor Theobald de Dax.

Official Communique of Franco-Iberia
TO: Prime Minister Berenguer Triquell
FROM: Emperor Theobald de Dax

Greetings,
This communique is to offer a trade agreement and a defense pact. I believe that, with the alarming increase of global tensions, is it not wise to defend our interests?

Milan, Lombardy-Venezia

Emilio looked out at the thriving metropolis. He had presided over many years of prosperity and growth, as well as stability in an increasingly unstable world. He had made the tough decision to send troops to fight terrorism in other parts of the world.

He watched as restoration continued on the Duomo, one of the great cultural marvels of the city. He was nearing the end of his term, and elections would soon be held. It would be his honor to hand over the keys to the city in a symbolic gesture dating from the Napoleonic Era, in which the former Captain and Defender gave his keys to his successor.

Bonn, Greater German Democratic Republic,
8:15 AM

President Peer Steinbrück walked out of the coffee shop surrounded by two armed guards. A family waved to him as he walked out, and he happily responded. As soon as the light showed he could cross, he began the stretch across the street to his car. He gets in the back, with the guards in front of the car, one passenger and the other driving. The moment they start the ignition, a flail of bullets comes waving out of the back window of the car in front of them.

"Schiße!"
"Sir, get down!"

Peer unholsters his own gun, and exits the car. Luckily, there is a street corner right next to the car which he ducks behind. The shooter runs out from his car and fires at moving cars. He then proceeds to spray fire at Peer, but can only shoot 5 bullets due to his magazine being empty.

"HEIL!" he screamed as he put his gun up into salute. Peer starts firing from a crouched position at the man, who was now running away. A bullet from a bookstore hits his back once. Peer quickly flips out his phone and calls the police.

Bonn, GGDR
12:30 PM

The President immediately rushed ro the cameras with his self-written papers out. He had made the decision not four hours after the attack. He shuffles the papers, then directs the cameraman to turn on the camera and project the broadcast to the nation.

"Today, in Bonn, an attack occured. A man shooting an Uzi Submachinegun opened fire from the back window of his car, then got out and fired into a crowd. An unknown passerby shot the man in the back, and he fell. It is thought that the President, Peer Steinbrück, may have been in attendance and the one the attack was directed on. However, this is just a rumor. Hold on, we are now recieving an official brosdcast!" says Anja Reschke, a popular German newsreader.

"Greetings, Greater German Democratic Republic. I have just signed legislation that has been at my desk for years now. In the spirit of democratic process, I refused to sign it. However, after today's attack in Bonn, which was directed at me, I have been forced to outlaw all National Socialist parties in Germany. This includes but is not limited to; the National Democratic Party, the German League for People and Homeland, the German Alternative, the National Revival of Poland, the Workers Party of Social Justice, and Jobbik, to name several regional large parties. I believe that this best for our nation and our future.

Thank You, Germanics. I hope for the best."

Upon hearing about this sudden attack in Germany, Assad has a nasty feeling the Germans will place blame on him for no reason other than a lack of information and agitation.

That couldn't be possible, though. The only nation that had Uzi submachine guns was Israel, and they surely couldn't have been behind the attack.

And, he certainly didn't encourage terrorism. Assad sends a handwritten letter to Steinbruck, asking if he was alright, and if there was anything Syria could do.

Moscow, Ukraine
President Petro Poroshenko was pacing his office. Today there was a planned state meeting with officials from the Central Asian post soviet states. Ukraine had long been interested in mending ties to these nations after all the brutal happenings under the soviet regime, and finally the day had come to make it happen.

*an hour later*
"Hello my friends, welcome to my castle." Petrol said as he stood at the table in the Kremlin.
The men responded happily and greeted back.
"Today, we meet as a historical part of our nation's future and history. Today we will once again redound the relationship we had during pre-Soviet."

Alsace

"Hello everyone, we are a few kilometers from the German border, and here, it seems that Franco-Iberia is fortifying the border. Reasons are not clear as the Prime minister only said that this is for extra defense against our rivals. Also, he also said that this fortifying will continue for a few years. Other than that, this is Isabelle Louis, signing out."

Girona, Catalonia
Four Spanish men entered a Catalan mall in Girona. They had bags full of things. They had guns and frags, as well as knives. Two of the men held two full-auto Z84s, the third held a Ruby pistol and a knife, while the fourth held a Destroyer carbine. They shot at Catalan-speaking people at the mall, killing 80 and wounding more than 200. The Catalan police intervened, resulting in a shootout that kills 4 police officers and 2 of the perpetrators. The two remaining perpetrators surrendered themselves to the police and a conference is now being held in Barcelona.

Catalan Republic
The shooting in Girona caused increasing anti-Spanish sentiment in the Catalan Republic. The Spanish embassy was assaulted and Spanish people were beat up. The Spanish national flags were set on fire and Spanish property were destroyed. These riots could change the Catalan-Spanish relations forever.

Syria publically condemns the actions of the Catalan people towards the Spanish.

"I highly doubt the Spanish leader is supporting acts of terror, but, it's not out of possibilities," Assad says in a conference about the events in Catalonia. "I say bring both leaders in the same room as myself and we'll talk this out before this gets worse. Send my invitation to both leaders at once."

Tawantinsuyu
Awaiting Assad

The Sapa Inca, having received a positive response from the Syrian Leader has had preparations made for their meeting. Media outlets notified of the meeting so sufficient camera exposure could be present and dozens of journalists would be on hand for a pre- and post-meeting press conference. With the meeting all set up, Pachacuti send messages to his generals to begin preparations for a military exercise in the northern mountains to keep the current military forces ready for conflict as well as prepare for a large recruitment drive for the armed forces.

To the south, several additional fortified military bases were planned to be on the Patagonian Plain near the Argentine border.

Assad's slight fear of foreign media leads the Syrian leader to feign courage when he lands and sees the many journalists at the airport. A few Syrian guards shake their heads at the lack of subtlety and privacy Assad may experience, and a few suggest this is a bad idea.

"It's not a bad idea," Assad whispers before standing, "Their leader didn't know. Just, stick near me and keep the cameras out of my face." He puts on a black, hooded poncho, and pulls the hood up before getting off the plane. The soldiers take the safeties off their weapons and follow Assad off the plane and into the sea of the masses.

There are barriers keeping the media back, but it is a large gathering for a leader as divisive as Assad. Many in the Tawantinsuyu media question why he is here, while others suspect it is some kind of play by the Sapa Inca to display the power of his nation to the world. Assad and his guards are shown into a large room where the Sapa Inca is waiting for them. As Assad approaches Pachacuti extends his hand in friendship, "Welcome to Tawantinsuyu President Assad. We have much to discuss." A short appearance before the Media takes place and the Sapa Inca takes a pair of questions completely unrelated to the meeting before the two men and a small escort of diplomats and guards are brought into a room without media presence.

"Now, President Assad. You suggested this meeting and while I am curious as to your reasoning, I also have much to discuss with you. Your nation is surrounded by a very powerful nation which has a great deal of control over the world's oil supplies. I am sure there are other nations that share similar concerns who would want to see that nation broken up or at least its Oil industries removed from national control to prevent them from plunging the world economy into a downward spiral."

The appearance before the media left Assad with a throbbing headache, and he suddenly couldn't remember why he had wanted to see the Sapa Inca. Now everyone's going to think I just came for international attention. When a blood vessel finally delivers its payload to his brain, Assad dismisses the first question, and replies to the second one. "I could easily take over the entire Middle Eastern oil industry. All I could do is lower the price of oil to encourage more nations to buy from me instead of them, and, if they have no allies, that would cripple their economy."

He presses his hands to his head for a moment in a vain attempt to stop the throbbing. "I also wouldn't hesitate to hurt them militarily, especially if they threaten the Kingdom of Jordan. All it took was saving the king's life to solidify our relationship. At an Arab summit, some moron with a plastic explosives vest blew up part of the hall, and many leaders were severely wounded. Barcelona, Catalonia
The Catalon right-wing extremist party National Purity Falange (NPF) has been holding anti-Spanish demonstration outside the building of the National Council, demanding that all Spanish people should be expelled from Catalonian territories and ban immigrants as they were a bad influence on the Catalan culture. The NPF also attacked Spanish homes and shops, lynching Spanish people and burning the Spanish flag. Catalan police has been sent to quell the anti-Spanish violence. This results in clashes between the NPF and the Catalan riot police,

Valencia, Catalonia
The Valencian people began campaigning for Valencian independence from the Catalan Republic after a Catalan police officer shot a mentally-ill Valencian man in Valencia City. They burned the Catalan flag and attacks Catalan people living in Valencia. The Catalan Republican Army has been sent to quell the violence and declares martial law in Valencia, hoping to calm down the entire Valencian community.

All was well for Japan. It was dominating the global Steel Industry, advancing in technology and was peaceful. Japan was no longer the violent empire that it was before, it was now an empire of peace and acceptance. The Japanese Empire is currently the largest producer of Steel in the world and is the largest seller of the metal. The Emperor is a kind-hearted man and will sometimes use the nation's great power to help nations that are in need. Noticing the rising concern of the United States of South-East Asia, the emperor sent a message to President Thonavong Thamsing.

To: President Thonavong Thamsing of the USSEA
From: Emperor Akihito of the Japanese Empire

Greetings, President Thamsing.

Over the past couple of years I have noticed your nation's concern over the rise of Japan. I am telegramming you to assure you that we have no interest in invading your nation or any nation in general. We are not the violent warriors that we were in the past, we are now a peaceful nation. I would like to propose an alliance between our two nations to strengthen our diplomatic bond and hopefully cease all tensions.

To: Donald LaForge, Head of the Republic of Texas
From: Chase Wilson, President of the United Republics of California

Concerning: Mutual Defense Pact

My friend of the lone star republic, it is with great hope that I write to you concerning the future of our two nations. Texas and California are some of the most powerful nations in the former United States. While our nation has shattered our will has not. The world is changing and I fear the flames of tyranny, injustice and oppression may soon throw a black blanket over faces of the worlds free people. I come speaking not as Californians and Texas, or even Americans, but as a free men. I would like to recommend the drafting of a military alliance between our two nations to watch each others back and to conduct formal military training exercises together. Please write back when you have an oppurtunity.

Signed, President Chase Wilson

My western neighbor, I would be much obliged to agree to a mutual defense pact, and look forward to cooperation between our two fledgling republics in the future, and one day, reunite the once great Union that our individual republics once were a part of. May our cooperation show the nation's of the world that the tyranny and oppression of innocent civilians will not be tolerated.

Signed,
President Donald LaForge

King Abdullah had shrapnel in his chest and probably wouldn't have survived if I hadn't dragged him all the way to the ambulance. He's a warrior and I couldn't have let him die to save my own skin."

Pachacuti listened to his fellow world leader and thought about the implications. Syria had Jordan as a local ally. Tawantinsuyu had Brazil, for different reasons. "I understand. It would be worth noting then that as you and the Jordanians are allied, myself and the Brazilians are allied. Our alliance dates back to the earliest days of Independence movements in South America. Now without the United States, a new power needs to rise in the Western Hemisphere and Tawantinsuyu and Brazil are more than willing to step up and hold down this Hemisphere. We just need allies who can sell us oil. Brazil has a good Oil reserve, my own nation however, lacks significant oil reserves that we know of. We could aid you with military supplies, as well as small levels of ground forces should you face war with Sargonia."

Pachacuti hoped this would hint to President Assad that he and Brazil would be making some kind of move in the American Hemisphere within the near future.
