Race name: Vestibulum

Race standard/average appearance: Often humanoid beings made of various energies, often with metal suits.

Race Specific abilities: The Vestibulum are made of various types of energy and substances, stemming from a cosmic force called "The Unknown". Each one has different abilities, with some having abilities to manipulate heat, some being able to manipulate pressure and a myriad of other things. This leads to some being more powerful than others. A Vestibulum with control of weak force or gravity would have a large advantage over a Vestibulum with control over sound.

Because they are made of energy, many Vestibulum must contain themselves in a metal casing, though some are able to maintain humanoid form without casing, or with very little. For those who need it, they can be dispatched by destroying the metal suit, causing them to fragment and fall apart, their energy scattering. However, those who can maintain their being must have it manually torn apart to die, often through incredibly powerful force.

Homeworld name: Orbis

Lore:
The Vestibulum are a race not based off of carbon, or even metal, but instead, energy. They are, in fact, inorganic, as they are simply fragments of a great universal energy called "The Unknown". The Vestibulum worship The Unknown, as it is what gives them life, and what sustains their planet.

However, it's not a world of harmony, but instead ceaseless conflict. While The Unknown is the center of worship, the Vestibulum understand little of how it works, or even the nature of its power or existence in the universe. Because of this, two main factions exist, the Knights of the Unknown, and Stone's Reach. These factions came to be in the early days of Orbis, however, they were at first one group, The Knights of Stone's Reach. They had one primary objective, to safeguard the people of Orbis, and to discover the secrets of The Unknown. Near the end of their existence, there were nearly ten million Knights, constituting 10% of the population of Orbis. There was never one singular leader, but instead, a council, who came to decisions on their own.

However, within the council, there was eventually a schism that occurred, for unknown reasons. One Vestibulum Knight, named Tenebris, began to publicly speak against the other Knights. He claimed to have spoken to The Unknown, and claimed further that it told him that it was upset with the Vestibulum trying to unlock its secrets. Eventually, he gained majority support in the Knights, with slightly more than half of them supporting his cause. Tensions continued to grow, until war broke out, and a schism occurred. Those in support of Tenebris, whose new title became "Voluntas Dei" became the new Knight's of the Unknown, whereas those fighting for Stone's Reach took on the name of exactly that.

Despite the numbers advantage, the new Knights were eventually pushed out of Stone's Reach, and forced to settle the land in the western sections of the planet. They came to control vast swaths of land, albeit, empty wastelands, while the fortified Stone's Reach retained little territory, but nigh impenetrable land, with abundant natural resources. With nearly 70% of inhabitable Orbis under control by the Knights, their population began to rapidly increase. They began to number in the billions, whereas the population of Stone's Reach never increased beyond hundreds of millions.

Despite this, Stone's Reach was well walled, and where it wasn't, vast mountain ranges protected it, meaning that it hadn't lost territory in long periods of time. In fact, it only gained territory since the Great Schism, taking small bits of land at a time. Living in these outskirts was considered extremely dangerous, however, since there was no major walls or boundaries to protect its inhabitants.

Despite sections being inhabitable, Orbis is not a perfect planet. While its inhabitable section has the same amount of area as the surface of Mars, that only constitutes 5% of Orbis, a circle of land around the North Pole of the planet, with Stone's Reach at the center, and massive mountains at the edges. Outside of this valley, exists an uninhabitable world, a literal hell. Few have ever ventured to even see the outside, and even fewer return. Those who do often use a similar choice of words. Lifeless, apocalyptic, hellish. It's a land of fire and magma, with a sort of energy which is caustic to the Vestibulum, like anti matter, making it near impossible to survive. it is possible for them to travel outside for around two hundred miles without serious effects, but beyond that, special metal suits are needed to survive.

But, in recent times, areas bordering the Outside have reported strange sounds coming from beyond the mountains. Not only that, but entire settlements, along with their populations, have disappeared entirely, with no traces of life. Many believe it to be The Unknown, angry with the quarreling Vestibulum. However, others say they've seen strange beings wandering around the outlying settlements, who don't resemble anything they've ever seen. Many have taken to calling these creatures Outsiders, believing them to be walkers of the hellplains that exist beyond the mountains of which encircle the habitable land of Orbis.

As it stands during the present, Stone's Reach is prosperous, having a strong footing in the inhabitable world, despite the holding far less land than the Knights of the Unknown. However, with a newly named Voluntas Dei, one with incredible ability, it's hard to tell what could happen, given the inefficient leadership of Stone's Reach.

Name/Alias: Princess Azuri

Gender: Female

Age: About three decades, appears around 16

Appearance(Pics are fine, include costume if needed!):
Azuri

Armor and weapons

Species: Yazara

Backstory:
Azuri was born the only child of High King Marriac and High Queen Izalandra. They tried greatly to have another child but due to complications with Azuri's birth Izalandra was never able to conceive again. There was a great deal of disappointment among the nobility when this came to be known. The Yazara were a strongly patriarchal society, and it was highly doubted that they would accept a woman on the throne. Marriac however refused to take his daughter's inheritance from her and so she was raised to rule.

However Azuri's education was mostly scholarly, and though she was given an expensive and well made set of armor, she was rarely allowed to use it. Instead she sat inside most days and studied things like science and literature. Azuri was clearly very intelligence, and was a good student, but she clearly yearned for more. As she grew older she began sneaking out of the castle frequently, going off to the forests outside the castles to be with nature. She would attempt to teach herself to use her water abilities and often has dragons as company. Because she can communicate with them they are in a way her secret friends.

As the king grows older there has been more and more pressure on him to name a successor and abandon Azuri as his heir. Many are pushing for Druedel to be named successor, as he is very popular among the nobility not to mention intimidating. Azuri has always been uncomfortable around that man, and doesn't believe he is as loyal to her father as he claims to be.

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman strength and speed, Dragon Physiology,Water manipulation, the ability to communicate with dragons, and has a unique immunity to fire. High intelligence, one of the most highly educated among the Knights.

Weaknesses: Electricity, has very little training or experience, has great difficulty dealing with the patriarchal society of the Yazara.

Destructive Capacity: City

Speed:100 m/s

Durability: Mountain

Lifting Strength:Class 50

Striking Strength: KJ

Intelligence: Very Intelligent

Name/Alias: Clayton Royale

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Appearance(Pics are fine, include costume if needed!):
Image

Species: Human

Backstory: Clayton is very polite. He is prone to risk-taking, and if he was old enough, would most likely gamble. He sets goals for himself often, and is generally curious. He is slower to trust than most people. He is usuallly honest, except when it is to protect himself. He is sympathetic towards those he deem his friends, but altruistic about others. Logic often downplays his character. He is also rarely observant, shy, and very controlled emotion-wise.

Clayton grew up in London in a fairly normal family. His father was an executive for a Gaming company, which heightened Clayton's interest in video games, while his mother instilled in him a love for motorcycles. When he turned sixteen, his father pulled strings for him to test a new gaming system. He excitedly put on the virtual reality helmet and launched the game of his choice. A storm struck the building with lightning, electrically bringing the console to life. It used the mental connection to virtual reality to enter Clayton's mind.

With half of his mind there, he used his aptitude for fixing or building things, with the help of the family butler, to transfer the AI into his electronic watch. He still kept his telepathic communication, but the powers the AI held to transform him into any video game character was too amazing to pass up. He decided to use his gift for the good of all, and fought crime as varying video game characters.

When he graduated High School, he went to Oxford to study Criminal Justice. He is now an exchange student in New York City.
Powers and Abilities:
He gains the powers of the video game character he chooses to transform into, as well as standard equipment.
Knows how to drive a motorcycle.
Voice changes when he transforms.
Weaknesses:
He gains the physical weaknesses of the character he transforms into
Selfish, self-important

Name/Alias: Spectrum

Gender: Male traits

Age: Unknown

Appearance(Pics are fine, include costume if needed!): This

Species: Vestibulum

Backstory:
Spectrum was brought into the world during the Tenth Great Crusade of Stone's Reach, and as with most young ones in time of war, was quickly put into training. It was here that he was discovered to have the ability to manipulate light, an uncommon ability amongst the Vestibulum, and one which was incredibly difficult to teach proficiency in, due to lack of experience by the teachers. Not only this, but he was able to maintain his energy form without use of a metal casing. However, minor heat manipulation was a common trait amongst Vestibulum soldiers, and a trademark of the warriors of Stone's Reach.

So, Spectrum was taught to use heat manipulation to a relatively proficient degree, enough to wield a heat sword and shield, along with the ability to create blasts with his own energy. However, due to the high demand for ordinary ground soldiers, he was never given any kind of attention to increase his natural proficiency, and simply thrown into combat with his fellow soldiers.

Seeing combat in multiple crusades, he eventually became a master of combat on the hand to hand level, and the ideal soldier. He followed orders, and executed commands with deadly efficiency. Now, as the Fourteenth Crusade of Stone's Reach begins in earnest, he is deployed once more, as part of an expeditionary unit, designed to test the capabilities of the Knights of the Unknown.

Powers and Abilities: Light Manipulation

Weaknesses:
- Darkness Manipulation
- Outsider Energy
- Tremendous Force

Destructive Capacity: Large Building Level

Speed: 22 mph

Durability: City Block Level

Lifting Strength: 2 tons

Striking Strength: Building Level

Standard Equipment:
- Heat Sword: Sword with a super heated blade, nearly 20,000°C
- Face Mask: Purely aesthetic

Intelligence: Relatively intelligent, with great battle instinct

Optional stuff.

Name/Alias: Ripley "Rip" Valentine | Jump Man

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance:
Image
Image
Image

Species: Human

Backstory:
Staten Island's native son, Rip Valentine was a rising star in Muay Thai and kickboxing, becoming a highly anticipated youth and scouted by various organizations. From ages twelve to eighteen, he had recorded only four losses spread out over those six years, but tragedy would strike soon after a scheduled fight. Racking up another win, Rip was walking home through Stapleton when he happened upon a robbery. Feeling an overwhelming desire to intervene, Rip socked one man and wrestled the other to the ground, eventually choking him out. The victim had ran off at that point, and Rip resumed his journey home.

A block away from the incident, Rip was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by the men he had just fought with - Who then fled the scene. Rushed to the emergency room a few minutes later, Rip suffered serious damage, enough to put his future career in jeopardy. When he awoke, however, Rip wasn't ashamed of his choices, and in fact found a new calling: Heroism. During his year-long process of physical therapy, he discovered that he had exceptional powers, further proving his new goal as the right one.

Calling himself Jump Man, Rip took Staten Island by storm with his heroics as crime rates perished, becoming hero of the people. Another would-be superhero had arisen around the same time he had, a high-tech woman named Rocket Girl. After an initial air of tension and mistrust, the two have become partners in defending Staten Island from threats large and small, Jump Man being the muscle while Rocket Girl became the brains.

Powers and Abilities:

Weaknesses:
  • Jump Man must be in physical contact with an object to have influence over it telekinetically.
  • Hot-headed and rather silly at times, Jump Man hardly ever gets serious about anything
  • His mental strength can be exhausted through extreme output

Destructive Capacity: City Level

Speed: Sub-Relativistic

Durability: City Level

Lifting Strength: Class T

Striking Strength: Class PJ

Standard Equipment: N/A

Intelligence: Rather cunning and brilliant at times, Jump Man seems to act rash and foolishly most of the time, giving others around him a decent surprise when he has his moments of clarity. He's highly perceptive when fighting, able to keep a level head throughout, but doesn't do too well with technology or higher concepts in math or science. Well-read and charismatic, Jump Man has his strong and weak points when it comes to his mind.

Optional Stuff

Name/Alias: Sarah Rider | Rocket Girl

Gender: Female

Age: 20

Appearance:

Species: Human

Backstory:
Born and raised in Todt Hill, Sarah Rider was the daughter of a wealthy shipping magnate and knew hardly any struggle growing up. However, her fathers' shipping industry was a front for his large drug peddling schemes, becoming a notorious and extremely wealthy drug kingpin up and down the East Coast. Spurned by her fathers' secrecy and out of simple teenage rebellion, Sarah began to have designs on becoming a foil to her dad's illegal trade. She was smart and very talented in design, partly from natural instincts and from privately funded education. She had expressed interest in working for either Hammer Industries or Stark Industries, but found a new hobby during a test run of her rocketry equipment.

Her personalized rocket boot system gave sustained flight for an extended period of time at high speeds, so Sarah Rider did what any idealistic youngster dreamed of, and became a hero. Dubbed "Rocket Girl" by the press, her arsenal expanded over time to include the boots, gauntlets, and helmet as signature facets of her crime-fighting attire. However, she became introduced to a rival hero from the other side of Staten Island known as Jump Man. Raised poor and with a bad-boy persona, Rocket Girl had a strong distaste for the hero, but was slowly smitten by his moral compass and passion. Eventually, the two became an inseparable team, defending the island together.

Powers and Abilities:
  • Enhanced Condition: Resulting from her own experiments, Rocket Girl is able to "boost" her own body to handle the stresses of high-speed flight and vicious impacts generated by her equipment. Using nanobots, she's able to take a serious hit for her frame and size.
  • High-Tech Exoskeleton: From her boots, gauntlets, and helmet, Rocket Girl is empowered with a visual scanner and heads-up display, power fists able to crack apart buildings with a single punch, and fly at high speeds. The devices are all of her own design and made by herself, which she keeps in fighting shape and in top-quality.
  • Mechanical Intuition: The basis for her design and creation of the Rocket Girl Boots, Rocket Girl Gauntlets, and Rocket Girl Helmet comes Sarah's ability to create and manufacture technology, not to mention her nanomachine-based condition.

Weaknesses:
  • Without the Power Items, Rocket Girl is a normal enhanced human with mechanical skills. Same with the areas not covered by the pieces.
  • Her power supply limits Rocket Girl to a Mach 1000 speed burst, with operating power steady at Mach 10. Her gauntlets will max out at street-level hits, and can steadily take down buildings. Any further and RG runs the risk of rendering her devices useless hunks of metal.
  • Not the brightest in her field, but able to quickly adapt and do quick-fixes on her armor. Doesn't show a desire to improve her skill, either.

Destructive Capacity: Town Level

Speed: Mach 1000

Durability: Town Level

Lifting Strength: Class G

Striking Strength: Class TJ

Standard Equipment: Gauntlets, Boots, and Helmet - All designed and manufactured by Sarah. Their power source is nuclear in nature, providing ample and extensive energy supply for years and years of steady usage.

Intelligence: Rather aloof and ditsy, Sarah Rider is a talented mechanical expert who tends to see the brighter side of things, and wants to use her inventions to better the world with herself in the drivers' seat as Rocket Girl. She tends to spend more time out and about helping who she can and accompanying Jump Man instead of in the lab designing new and better equipment. A creative and bright young girl, her future seems to be bright and far-reaching.

Optional Stuff

Theme Song: SMILE A WHILE FOR ME, SARAAAHHHH

Random Facts:
  • Has a thing for Jump Man

Another mage. I'll have him do a solo arc first, to tie in to another character that I'll app later.

Name/Alias: Zachariah Grant

Gender: Male

Age: 28

Appearance: Here

Species: Human

Backstory: Zachariah's life was meant to be a tranquil one. Child of a loving mother and a hard-working father, the boy was raised well, taught several values that rooted themselves deep inside his mind, causing him to become a rather polite and idealistic person. Alas, not all was well. His father, posing as a mid-ranked employee in the hierarchy of a large corporation, was in fact a talented magician, and an ambitious one. Unfortunately, it was this ambition that eventually led him to begin research on some forbidden topics, such as the genealogy of an important family of magi with several ties to his employers, and some notes on the failed development of a spell meant to tap into the power of alternate worlds. Before he could make any significant advancement in his research, some influential people found out what he was doing, and ordered his murder. The house of the Grant family was to be set ablaze, and that was exactly what happened.

Zachariah's parents panicked. All of the exits were magically sealed and could not be opened with what mystical prowess Zachariah's father had, and so, he made a decision to try to save his family. Against the boy's protests, his father carved a symbol onto his back to allow him to survive even through the fire, until he could find a way to escape. The boy's father soon finished, but as he turned to try to save his wife as well, a part of the ceiling collapsed, burying the two of them underneath.

Despite the searing heat within the burning house, Zachariah managed to survive thanks to his father's enchantment, inadvertently displaying the first signs of magical abilities of his own. When the house eventually collapsed altogether, he managed to find a way out, but though he was alive, he had lost everything, having managed to save only a meager journal that had belonged to his father when he had begun learning magic. With nothing else, the boy took the journal and studied it as he struggled to feed himself while living out on the streets. What little magic he managed to learn made his life marginally easier, but in truth, he displayed no significant affinity for it. None at all, except for a particular kind: the same that his father had used to save his life. His body seemed to resonate with a magic that seemed so familiar, and so, the boy managed to learn the basics of it with little trouble.

It was at around that time that he found someone who would mark his life. That day, he attempted to rob a passing blonde woman in order to feed himself, and much to his shock and surprise, she caught his hand like it was nothing. Zachariah, now in his teens, struggled to break away from the woman's grip, but she was too strong, and he eventually gave up. The woman forced him to tell her his story, and after that, she decided to take him in. He learned that, despite her inability to use magic, she was a demon hunter of sorts, possessing several relics that were a force to be reckoned with, though she did not use them most of the time. The blonde woman made sure that he was well-fed, and also trained him, so that he could be a force of good in the world. It was around this time that he perfected his enchantment magic.

Eventually, after receiving sufficient training and growing into a strong and independent man, he left the woman, who had no qualms about letting him go, knowing that he was not a bad person and that he had no need to steal from others now. The boy, now a man, sought a purpose, and his childhood memories soon came to him. But he knew not who had caused the fire, and revenge was not something he wished to pursue. Thus he made it his purpose to make a world where something like that which happened to him would not have to happen again.

Zachariah struck out on a one-man crusade against crime, being forced to make further enchantments to his body throughout such a conflict, but though he fought for years, it was to no avail. Unscrupulous men and women kept popping up everywhere. Disheartened, the man distanced himself from his purpose for a while and wandered the world, seeking answers.

Powers and Abilities:
  • Magic: Zachariah's main asset is his ability to use magic. Although his knowledge of it is limited, there is a special type which he excels at, this being a very refined and specific type of enchantment magic. By engraving certain symbols on an object, the object is imbued with a 'latent' enchantment, which will become active once magical energy is poured into it. Anyone can make use of these latent enchantments, but only if they have magical energy to pour into the object and if they are aware of the purpose of the enchantment in question, which requires the user to know the symbols. Enchantments made in this fashion can only do one of two things: strengthen an attribute already present on the object, or alter the object in order to make it more likely to accomplish the purpose for which it was made. The magnitude of these changes will be directly proportional to the amount of magic energy expended.
  • Supernatural Condition: Through extensive training and self-modification, Zachariah has attained a physical condition that exceeds the maximum humans would ordinarily be able to attain.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Another result of self-modification, Zachariah has the ability to heal rapidly from wounds, though the intensity of said ability varies depending on certain conditions.

Weaknesses:
  • While Zachariah's enchantment magic might be considered powerful, without it he is a second-rate magician at best, easy pickings for other more skilled magicians.
  • All of Zachariah's powers are dependent on him having magic energy or mana available to fuel them. If for some reason he were to exhaust his supply or be cut off from it, he would be unable to use his powers and would wind up a normal, although skilled, human.
  • Though his powers make him stronger than most humans, Zachariah can still be overpowered, outmaneuvered or outsmarted by someone strong, skilled or intelligent enough.

Destructive Capacity: Up to Small Building Level.

Speed: Up to Sonic.

Durability: Up to Small Building Level.

Lifting Strength: Up to Class 5

Striking Strength: Up to Class MJ.

Standard Equipment:
  • A pair of handguns. Though they are not, by themselves, special, Zachariah often carves symbols into his bullets in order to increase their effectiveness in battle. As this is a lengthy process, however, he only has a few of these special bullets at a given time, and carries regular ammunition as well.
  • A pair of knives. The symbols engraved into their blades increase their sharpness when activated.
  • His body. Though such a thing would not ordinarily be listed as equipment, there are several enchantments active on it:
    • There is a symbol on his chest that alters his body to make it more capable of pursuing its purpose to achieve perfection. In practice, this translates as a drastic increase in his physical abilities when the enchantment is activated, and in fact, this enchantment is active most of the time, albeit with little energy put into it so that it will not be taxing to maintain. Its intensity can be increased by pouring more energy into it.
    • Another symbol is present on his back, which alters his body to make it better suited to maintaining its purpose to survive. When activated, this enchantment causes Zachariah's wounds to begin healing at an accelerated rate, and makes him able to go longer without tending to his bodily needs. Much like the previous enchantment, it is almost always active, although in a minimal capacity, and can be strengthened if necessary.
    • Finally, there are two symbols on his eyes, magically put in place, which quite simply enhance his eyes' purpose to see. Unlike the previous two, these aren't always active, and the symbols are normally not visible when the enchantment is inactive.

Intelligence: Above average.

Hey guys I've been really busy this week, so hopefully I can hop in again a bit more frequently. Is Darkseid dead yet?

I thought I made a mistake once, but I was wrong.
