John is an orphan that never met his parents,a fact that made him wander the streets of London for years,managing to survive with his curious ability of "blinking",as he liked to call it. However,his wandering,homeless days ended when he was adopted by a mysterious man,who revealed himself to be a sort of well trained assassin.

To John's surprise,the old man told him that he wanted to do a last good action in his life,which ended up being the training of a poor boy. For 10 years,John was trained in a variety of martial arts and fighting styles,including his actual specialty,the fight with swords,and more intellectual matters,like other languages,constant book reading,the study of history and the basics of anatomy,extending even to basics of herbology.

When John reached 20 years,the man died of natural causes. His advanced age caused him a peaceful death while sleeping,and left to the world a well trained badass,named Moving Shadow,who decided to join the recently found Badass Academy in Sheffield. After all,he studied before,but as one of the lessons his master left him,there's always more to learn and to see.

Personality:

John likes silence in his missions,his swords,and cool headed people. He doesn't like the noisy solutions,with big guns and hot headed people blowing everything around.

They can direct it in almost any direction, even creating body armour of a sort which allows them to tunnel, walk through walls and burn through objects. They are, however, a normal human in terms of strength and endurance (The story of every RP character I make's life). The said gas is also capable of forming animated objects, though they are not autonomous and Blaine must manually control them. He can also cause the gas to coalesce into a semi-solid or liquid object that he can hold, for example, a scythe, which is his main weapon in combat, or he can alternatively fire the gas in large bolts over extremely long distances.

It should be noted that Blaine can also manipulate how corrosive his gas is, what its properties and etcetera, meaning that he can change its viscosity, colour and even if it is corrosive at all, though the mentioned state above is his most common. He is more than capable of visible "telekinesis" by moving things using a tendril of said gas.

Blaine appears to spontaneously disappear and "glitch" at random times when teleporting, and will appear in a puff of smoke, often causing the constituency of the air around him to change, and causing random objects to spontaneously generate around him, usually things like a grain of sand or a small rock. Whenever Blaine is actually physically hurt or if his body registers pain and his mind registers malicious intent, he will spontaneously teleport to a random location in order to prevent being hit with more than a single projectile at a time. His abilities cause varying amounts of pain, and he can choose whether they destroy the nerve endings, causing no pain, or not, instead pressing against the intact remains of a severed nerve, causing excruciating pain.

Blaine can be disarmed and prevented from using his ability by severing or damaging his radial artery, as he cannot use his abilities so long as it is not fully healed. His ability otherwise has no real limits of endurance, other than that he cannot manifest more than three cubic metres of it at a time, and he tires out in combat due to his perfectly normal human endurance. His gas is also incapable of any fine motor control beyond a distance of 10 metres, meaning outside of that radius he can only fire linear projectiles and not create complex objects.

Personality: Charismatic and social, Blaine is extremely amicable and loves to talk, often having a personal anecdote or two to share, and appears very compassionate and trustworthy. He is quite generous and will perform tasks for others and will often refuse to cross moral boundaries. In private though, he is psychotic and loves to kill, but surprisingly doesn't care about pain. He is resistant to pain, and will often obsess about a target, trying to kill them for days which can stretch into weeks and then months. He is otherwise, extremely nice and cares about his friends a lot, but is completely willing at any given time to betray them for literally no reason whatsoever, displaying passive-aggressive behaviour on a constant, daily basis around people he is antagonised towards.

Blaine feels incredibly competitive towards anyone he perceives as doing better than him, and will often feel as if people are laughing at him behind his back, giving him extreme, crippling depression at night, while in the day-time, he is manic in every way except for clinical, being capable of being incredibly happy and joyful one moment, at the next being downright scarily serious and intimidating. He will often give people the impression he is not very intelligent, but he is in fact a cunning and in-sinuous individual who will form plans, often not caring whatsoever about collateral damage, being willing to sacrifice his own life to do something if he deems it to be correct. He has a twisted psychotic side as well where he will desperately attempt to kill someone when enraged, often smiling silently the entire time, their attacks at that point causing excruciating pain even upon minor injury, tending to fester on the skin and slowly corrode the flesh away.

I'm a little worried about the instantaneous degeneration. If I'm fighting you, I need to be able to have a chance to dive out of the way or react to you, and it looks like if I'm hit I'm dead, no matter the armor. Also, can he control the gas while teleporting?

If you're hit you're not instantaneously dead. It depends on the amount of gas.

He cannot control the gas while teleporting, and all of its immediately disperses unless it is an uncontrolled projectile. also, you can block it with something sturdy like a dinner plate for a low power bolt. Unless you're really close he can't make it curl around your sword or something to circumvent solid objects. The more dense an object is, the more corrosiveness it can withstand, and the longer it takes to destroy. Any complex objects he creates cannot leave a ten metre bubble, and they dissipate unless they're in contact with him or are unguided, non-complex projectiles. Also, if you cut his radial artery he can't use his abilities.

Just a few questions before I finish my application.. One, what year is it ig? Two, if accepted, how would I begin? Three, is there any background information I will need to know before I begin? Fourth and lastly, I am relatively new to the nation states forum, is there any way for me to be notified when someone quotes my replies? Thanks in advance for the help! Also people keep posting new replies as I send this, so I am forced to hit resend everytime.. I pray that I am not actually sending this message over and over again....

1. I believe it is the current year IC

2. You can just post with your character arriving on or roaming the airship, the plot arc hasn't started yet so it's easier to join.

3. Everything you need to know should be in the OP.

4. I don't believe so, but you can set it so that you're notified when something new is posted.

Doc, how much tweaking would I have to do to Zamiel's app before I can port him over? I want to get that all out the way so I only have to post it once.

Sensory manipulation: Whilst he cannot create illusions if things that are not there, he can mess up your senses to move them around in all 6 senses. For instance, let's say you were stabbed. He very well can make you see the attacker in front of you when it is behind you, the stab feel like it's coming from your side when he is stabbing you in the stomach, and your smells and hearing make it seem like he is in other places as well. This of course has limits, being he has to have you in his field of vision. And no, vision through binoculars does not work.

One last question, and I apologize if I am being a bother. Does this academy go out and look for special individuals, or do the students have to seek out the academy for themselves? I ask this as I would like to know how my character logically became apart of this program. Thank you in advance!

I believe it's a mixture, some students hear about it and join, others are recruited.

We apply to the Academy in most cases. It's known throughout the criminal underworld, so you apply and then the League accepts you.

Exceedingly holy weapons have been shown to incapacitate him for a longer time period.
  • Superhuman Accuracy: Zamiel has been known to hit targets at great range using handguns while looking the other way.
  • Superhuman Strength- Can lift objects weighing over 3 tons with ease.
  • Superhuman Speed- Can move faster than the eye can see.
  • Superhuman Reflexes- Can catch speeding bullets
  • Superhuman Agility- The ability to defy gravity to an uncertain limit. He is also seen leaping impossible distances and can walk up vertical surfaces. He also has the ability to levitate.
  • Intangibility- Can walk through walls
  • Hypnosis
  • Slight Immunity to Vampire Weaknesses- Unaffected by sunlight and only delayed by silver weapons. Heavily delayed by Holy weapons and magic.
  • Shapeshifting- Can shapeshift into any creature of the night.
  • Weapon Proficiency
  • Neigh-Immortality- If one could destroy all the lives that Zamiel has absorbed over the years then one could kill his prime form. Otherwise he has to be incapacitated and kept away from any blood for over one hundred years. However there are certain exceptionally powerful holy weapons that only need to kill him a total of three combined to kill him completely.

Equipment: Zamiel can figure out and practically master any weapon he picks up but he prefers to use his two high powered, semi-automatic handguns, Hawkmoon and Fatebringer. The ammunition consist of high impact, hollow point rounds.

Bio: Zamiel was just an average boy when a vampire army attacked his town. The ransacked his town and converted every male they could find and killed all the women. He was turned into a vampire and forced to kill his own mother and sister. Doing this created a sadistic vampire side of him that turns him a cold-blooded killing machine. He spent most of his life in this vampire state, all the while going up through the ranks of the vampire army he was forced to join. Every now and then however his human side takes control and he's a lot less sadistic and murderous. He later found that his monster side lets him take control more often when he's calm and almost refuse to when he is enraged.

Naturally his higher-ups didn't like that Zamiel would switch between human and monster so they tried to kill him, only to get killed themselves by Zamiel's monster side. After that encounter, Zamiel realized his monster side had a sense of self preservation and a personality all to itself. Instead of hating this monster for what it has done, he starts relying on it to become stronger and move forward. After killing off all his ranking officers, Zamiel became the general of what was left of the vampire army. He spent some time doing what they used to do until a thought struck Zamiel. What's better than an army of vampires? One vampire with the power of an army. So he killed off the rest of the army and absorbed their essence through their blood becoming the unstoppable killing machine he is now. With nothing else to turn to and nowhere else to go, the human side of Zamiel deiced that join the Academy as an instructor and use his vampire powers against the monsters. While working there he agreed to let the Headmaster put in an alchemical chip in his brain to prevent the Overlord from controlling him while in his monster form. It will also release blessed silver into Zamiel's brain if he goes rouge, incapacitating him for 24 hours.

Weakness:
  • Needs blood of others to survive.
  • Can be incapacitate by Holy weapons or magic for a period of time.
  • If killed three times by any extremely powerful holy weapons, or Sacred Weapons, then he dies permanently.
  • Depending on the damage done to him, needs time to regenerate.

Position within the League of Villains: N/A

Personality: Zamiel's human side is tactic and a heavy thinker. He's a good strategist and tends to calculate the odds. However he is nothing if not honorable, loyal, mostly merciful, and generally nice. His monster side however is incredibly proud of himself and cocky to an extreme. He gets this from the fact that not many people can even challenge him and he considers anyone who can to be his rival. He's sadistic and brutal, choosing to prolong a challenger’s death to inflect the maximum amount of pain, torture, fear, and humiliation possible.
