I.E. would it form structures and complex tools or would it just eat everything?

Utility fog, probably to form shields, blunt weapons and transportation. Basically a supportive technomancer, since gray goo seems a bit OP.

Here's what I've got so far for the support utility fog technomancer. His greatest weakness are his own bots: while they are literally the most versatile things ever, using them too long will basically burn out his brain and knock him unconscious (and ever-closer to the slippery slope of insanity) for a while. I suppose it could be a bit simpler though.

Personality: Generally layed-back and easygoing, Sawyer is highly intelligent and prefers to prevent/end confrontations through diplomacy rather than fighting it out. Excessive usage of the neurotansmitters that contol his utility fog has given him a slight case of mental illness, causing him to beome incredibly aggressive and somewhat delusional at times.

Utility Fog (for lack of a better name): [INSERT NAME HERE]'s primary defensive and offensive weapons, the Utility Fog is the collective name for the thousands of tiny, flying robots (about the size of a grain of rice) that can interlock to form just about anything that [INSERT NAME HERE] can imagine, ranging from massive blunt weapons to body armor and flying "surfboards". This, of course, is assuming that he has a majority of the fog-bots still remaining.

While each individual bot is fairly mudane, certain configurations can form hard, rigid plates, sharp edge or highly flexible and durable armor. While the bots can do this individually, much of this is up to the user to control.

Neurotransmitters: Basically what allows the Utility Fog to even function, [INSERT NAME HERE] carries several of these on his person, since a single one can control all of the fog-bots at once. Assuming one is stolen, anybody can use it, provided that they can handle the sheer brain overload and that [INSERT NAME HERE] somehow forgets to deactivate any missing ones remotely. Using this and the bots in conjection puts an enormous load on the brain, rendering [INSERT NAME HERE] comatose if he pushes the bots too hard or for too long.

Control Gloves (once again, for lack of a better name): To offset some of the strain controlling the bots puts on the brain, the Control Gloves allow the user to move the bots around quickly with hand movements and gestures while the neurotransitters deal with precise movements and the configurations of each bot swarm. As a plus, the nexite crystals contained within can emit large jolts of elctricity that the bots can guide to their target.

Fighting style: [INSERT NAME HERE] prefers to stay behind the frontlines and assist teammates by protecting them and warding off attacks. On his own though, he is cautiously offensive, predicting his oppenent's next moves and attacking only when he knows he has the upper hand. All other attacks are to force opponents into unfavorable situations. This renders him very weak against unpredictable opponents and multiple enemies. Due to the nature of his neurotransmitters, opponents who can outlast him wind up with a very easy kill.

Special moves:
Shock Barrier: [INSERT NAME HERE] deploys a vast swarm of bots towards an opponent at all angles and then conducts electricity through all of them, creating a massive area that electrocutes all opponents in the area. With effort, this swarm can be moved around to chase after more targets.

Rapid Impale: [INSERT NAME HERE] makes his bots form a carpet-like area under his targets. After that, they rapidly shoot upwards at the target in groups of two to three, attempting to impale or knock down the target with large spikes.

That's basically it, there's one smaller group who seem clsoe to wrapping up their fight victoriously and a larger group who are struggling, mostly cuase they were attacked by a larger group of enemies.
