The Israeli economy is heavily independent, and well developed. Dwarfing the industrial capabilities of its neighbors on a per capita basis, the Israeli economy is heavily diversified, meaning that it is relatively resistant to the sudden changes of the region. Although, Israel imports a lot of food from other countries it is self sufficient in the case of a war, due to the high amount of food exports, making up a small percentage of GDP the Israeli state is now capable of fighting longer wars. The technology sector in Israel is also large, and well developed, cooperating with American companies often to create new high tech products. This in turn leads to a disproportionately large arms manufacturing industry. Being the main focus of the Israeli economy, the arms manufacturing industry produces some of the most advanced equipment in the entire world, such as the Merkava tank a beast unmatched by anything Israel's neighbors could dream of building. However, the economy suffers in a case of a war, due to Israel's extremely limited manpower in a war most male workers are required by law to fight.

Military Description:
The best armed, trained, and motivated troops of the entire Middle East. The Israeli army has bloodied its hands numerous times over the past few years, in a series of upset victories over its neighbors. The IDF has gained a reputation in the Middle East as being almost invincible to its enemies. The army is organized based off of the American model, emphasizing overwhelming air superiority to accomplish their missions, and force concentration to make up for its limited numbers. That fact is boosted by the IDF's unprecedented mobility in the region, with its formations easily able to encircle hostile formations. The IDF also is known to attack first whenever is senses the slightest possibility of a hostile attack.

Equipment is a mix of domestic, and American produced pieces. The entire Israeli inventory is state of the art, unmatched by its pesky neighbors. The best example being the Merkava tank, something superior to anything that the Arabs, or even Soviets could muster. The tanks are meant to function as infantry support, however the infantry of the IDF still move out blistering speed thanks to the transport capabilities of the Merkava, and numerous AFV's in service. More tanks are kept in reserve, which are older models, which although not as effective as the Merkava tanks are still capable of beating out the Arab tanks thanks to better trained crews.

The Israeli Air Force uses state of the art planes supplied to them by the United States, with the Israelis making several upgrades to the vehicle. The navy is in a sorry state, due to the lack a credible threat from the Arabs, since Israel's neighbors also have small or negligible navies.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
The Israeli army is capable of beating any of its contemporaries in a battle, with support from the air force. The two branches of the IDF function together like clockwork. Any attempt to engage the Israeli army by any of its neighbors in pitched battle would result in a quick encirclement, and defeat for the IDF's foes. Due to the Israeli inclination to almost always attack first ever since the Yom Kippur war, it is impossible to surprise the Israeli army. Furthermore, the Israelis have mastered the art of logistics in the desert able to keep all troops in combat well supplied. However, the IDF needs a quick victory during every single war due to the impossibility of sustaining the economy over the long term. It also has limited numbers of troops to draw from, and also faces massive unrest sometimes from Arabs within the country.

Brief History since PoD:
While, the Americans suffered a small decline in power, the massive surge of Israeli power more than made up for that deficit. The Israeli Army scored another triumph in the Yom Kippur war demanding massive territorial concessions from the Egyptians, including the precious Suez governorate which put the IDF within earshot of Cairo the Egyptian capital, ensuring that the Egyptians would not try anything stupid without facing massive repercussions, made toward their capital, significantly reducing the threat of the Egyptian military. With the successes of the IDF, the hard right Likud party was swept into power, vowing more victories like the one in the Yom Kippur war. Even though the Israelis forced humiliating peace conditions onto the Egyptians, such as the seizure of the entire Egyptian navy(most of it being sold to unstable pro-western regimes across the world), most of the Egyptian Air Force, most of the Egyptian armor, and the reduction of the Egyptian army to a mere 100,000 men, and with each man having to serve at least 10 years in the Egyptian army, the Egyptians tried to attack again, however the Israelis attacked first, defeating them another time, although this time only asking for the maintenance of the last treaty's terms. With the captured Soviet equipment in great bulk, the Israelis started incorporating reverse engineered Soviet technology into their stock, making the Merkava a hybrid of Western and Eastern technology.

The Likud introduced more free market capitalism into the country, as a result the Israeli economy boomed at a much greater speed than its neighbors, with the Suez canal in Israeli control, the Israelis raised a high tariff for all oil shipments passing through the canal. This negatively impacted the economies of the Israel's enemies, and gave the government much needed funds to continue to maintain and develop its armed forces. While, the Middle East tried to embargo Israel, the country just made use of their former Egyptian oil reserves in the Sinai to become self sufficient in the oil department, forcing the Arabs to back off.


Taking advantage of control of the Suez canal, the Likud in 1982 started a policy of forced reconciliation, forcing the Arab world to recognize it by the end of January 1982 or Israel will cut off the Suez canal, to all Arab trade. With the Arab in chaos due to the threat, which can potentially destroy the economies of many Arab nations. Israel plans to either make the Arabs fold or take advantage of the ensuing chaos to expand further.

Ill equipped and lightly trained the militia's strength lays in it's numbers and ability for unconventional warfare. The new 'Red Army' stands in direct contrast with the militia's. Experienced, well equipped and well trained the most important aspect of the 'Red Army' is that it is completable subservient to the party and loyal without question to it's leaders.

- Political violence leads to anti-communist laws being passed however The ICP continues to grow
- A surge of support for the ICP after an economic downturn leads to genuine fears of a communist takeover
- In 1982 the ICP is banned and the government attempts to arrest it's key members, in response a general strike is called and armed demonstrations take place in the eastern states
- Army units in Calcutta open fire on a violent mob
- Armed demonstrators fire back and within hours the eastern states are in chaos
-ICP paramilitary's, local militia's and mutinying army unit's take control of the eastern states, news of a revolution spreads and is met by uprisings across India
-The Indian army is forced into retreat as the everywhere except the north-western states descends into chaos

After it created a State Council to run new Government affairs, their public offices were thrown into disarray. They have recovered, however, and are always on guard as East Germany watches the world change around them.
