Biography: Abraham was born in Jerusalem, as a child he lost his father during one of the many conflicts between Israel and its many Arab enemies. He grew up having to look after himself and his mother who suffered from depression due to the loss of his father. In many cases Abraham would have to stop her from committing suicide. By the age of 18 he got enrolled in college and after finishing enlisted in the IDF like his father. After a while he became part of the Israeli special forces, taking part of hundreds of missions and conflicts.
After turning 35 Abraham decided to retire and move with his mother to California where he worked as a construction worker. A private mercenary group whose operations varied from government contracts to private deals that range from all sort of legalities. Abraham discontent and without anything to lose began working as a mercenary for the Command. Eventually he rose through the ranks of the company to do his own missions which varied from client, reward and objective. Abraham was eventually contacted by a mysterious individual who hired him to extract something from The Zone. The objective was a girl who had ran away to the Zone and the client wanted her back. Abraham though reluctant accepted, due to the reward which was enough money for him to finally retire forever. After arriving in Mesquite Abraham now has to find a way inside the Zone and extract the VIP to finally turn away from his war infested life.
The question is, will he survive. This MUST be at least two paragraphs

Those are the rules, sir. Too many military characters already bouncing around.
Semi-Closed simply means that we're more inclined to be pickier about applications. If you're willing to rework the application with a more interesting angle, then I'm willing to hear it.

Just a note from my perspective: He really doesn't need all that gear. I sent my character in with little more than some food, a handgun, and a radio, and he's still mostly in one piece.
Also, if we accept your character, you'll probably want to figure out a logical reason for him to encounter the main group. We're quite some distance away from Mesquite now, and if I'm not mistaken, Mesquite has been mostly destroyed by Zone anomalies. My suggestion would be that he start out in Dry Lake or somewhere nearby, as we have recently been there.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind and change his gear.

A word of advice: we're generally trying to avoid total badasses. If The Zone were a movie, it wouldn't be action, it'd be horror. A top-shelf shooter and krav maga expert doesn't sell horror well, because you don't really think of a person like that as being vulnerable.
Your character can still be a good fighter, but I'd only give him one major strength - say, krav maga or marksmanship, but not both. I'd also give him a reason for that skill that doesn't immediately paint him as a badass. For marksmanship, he could have been a competitive shooter, or a gunsmith/dealer who shoots a lot to get a feel for a good product. If you want him to be a brawler, you might replace krav maga with competitive MMA and sell him more as an athlete than a killing machine.

The Church is an anomalous organization that worships a mysterious leader, the Black King. It's basically a huge organized group of monsters, with plenty of resources and manpower behind it.
