So, about that Glendale Group, huh?

You'd be surprised how many times I've seen them walk in and tell people to get back on topic.

Ya know, the Mods seem to have a pretty laissez faire attitude towards P2TM most of the time.

Mind you, I haven't been around nearly as long, so I've never seen threads on P2TM go totally off the rails or anything just yet.

Not with how I've heard of it recently...

I'm assuming you're talking about that whole TG-Sexting escapade?

Or is there more drama I've somehow managed to miss around here?

I'm not talking about that, no. But there are things to be wary of.

True, but that's pretty much always how it's been.

Thankfully, it only ever really takes a bit of nudging to get things on track, at least in my experience.

That said, the IC is slowing down a little more than I'd like it to. I'll try and get a post up later tonight.

Is this still open to apply for? Like, you guys seem pretty far into it but if you can take another character I'd be up for it!

We're still taking applications.

Name: Winston Garnett

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Occupation: Aspiring Writer

Appearance: Your average looking joe. Winston sports a narrow face, with a few light freckles dotting his cheeks and his nose. His nose's bridge, having been broken before, juts out quietly. His blue eyes have a touch of green in them, his eyelashes short, and his blond eyebrows average. His blond hair is cut short, and the sides rest messily over his ears. The back of his hair just barely brushes his neck.

Winston's body is of an average build. His arms are not muscular, but are also rather average as are his legs. A large, faded scar sits on the right of his two callused palms. His legs are hairy, and his feet are size 10.

UPDATE - CHANGES DURING STORY:
Now sports an unbuttoned brown leather jacket, a gray T-shirt, jeans and one boot. The other boot was lost during his escape from under the car at the Arrolime shootout. Has gained a bandage wrapped around his head to cover up a wound, as well as one over his cheek for a bullet graze. Half of his right index finger is missing, and his entire ring finger is gone after being shot. His middle finger has a bloodied crack in the middle of it.

Equipment:
Ruger LCR Double Action Revolver (with 18 rounds of .38 Special, 2 rounds of .357 Magnum, and 4 9mm Luger rounds), gas mask, backpack, gun belt, five lead pencils, seven pens, notebook, 18" flat prybar, 2 boxes of toaster pastries, canteen, leather bifold wallet (contains driver's license, two 10$ bills, 5 pennies, two quarters, a nickel, four dimes, debit card, pictures of friends and family)

Skills: Writing, novice marksman, great climber, fast runner

Weaknesses: Stressed easily, impulsive, lies often

Personality: Winston is a social introvert, leaning on the wall of loneliness but doesn't like feeling left out, either. He can be crude if he is excited or not thinking, but tries his best to be friendly and fair to everyone. He believes in a mercy for all, but his recklessness has made him a danger to enemies before. Easily guilted. He tries to stay optimistic, but can't help feeling depressed at times.

Biography: Winston was born in Tennessee. His parents moved to the countryside of Alabama when he was two, and they started a farm there. Winston worked as a farmhand there until he was sixteen, a little after he had lost his Southern accent. He was a good kid, only getting spanked once or twice, and he learned quick. At sixteen, he began to break out of his shell a little and got a job at a grocery store a little ways away from the farm. He found himself having always been imaginative, and eventually found a home in South Carolina with his girlfriend, whom he broke up with shortly after.
Winston attempted writing for a little while, and after finding how hard it was to get money for it, quit. He then went on and got a job at a factory for a little while. During this time, the "incident" occurred, and he found himself scared and stressed constantly. After a while, he finally guess that he was not enjoying his work, so he quit and decided he was going to scavenge The Zone, and then fund his writing and help his parent's farm.

Roleplay Experience: I role played a little while ago, but I'm a little rusty at this point, so forgive me if I do anything wrong. Also, can I ask how you want to put me in the story if I'm accepted? I've read through it all, but I just don't want to mess anything up if I join in the wrong way or the wrong group.

Like I said, Bei's posting is really eclectic right now, which I'm assuming is school and/or work related. Or he's hiding a body. I dunno.

I'd recommend giving it a day or so, maybe use the cowboy whose name I still totally haven't forgotten in the meantime.

I quite like this. I remember Chicago was going to do a pretentious hipster character at one point, and this kinda reminds me of that. I don't mean that in the pejorative sense, of course.ACCEPTED

As to how to incorporate you into the story, we have three primary groups right now. Overton, Glendale and Moapa. If I were to recommend a group at the moment, I'd say Glendale is probably a good idea. They're kinda low-key at the moment, while the other groups are either in combat (Moapa) or already have plenty of members (Overton).

Since the lore is pretty loose in terms of how you can join, I'd say anything (within reason) is acceptable. He could have already been in the Zone prior to the RP's events, or he could end up in the Zone via some kind of spatial anomaly, like some of the other characters.

I'll leave it up to you. If there's anything wrong enough with your intro post that it needs to be addressed, I'll let you know.

It's not like we're lacking in terms of content.

I'm planning on bringing the day to a close and having the group camp out in the Business Plaza, seeing as we've been on Day 2 for god-knows how long in RL time. I've got some ideas of where to go from there.

It's really just a matter of keeping steady momentum at the moment, since Bei is otherwise occupied and Dera is dying of Cholera or something.

Im waiting for the car to be fixed, but I will try to get a post up tonight.

It's cool. I'm up earlier than usual, so I'm trying to get a post and some Chapter Zero material done.

I'm just waiting for something to respond to.

And a really good opportunity to use a Carpenter Brut song.

Do it.
It doesn't need a reason, Carpenter Brut works with no logic.

Thanks. It took me somewhere around 1-3 hours, not really sure on exact though. I was having fun writing it for sure though.

It was good, except that a Silverado is a Chevrolet truck, not Dodge.

Edit: Also, minor problem, if you drove around Glendale in a truck, it would be hard to believe you didn't run into the secessionists who are hunting for the Glendale group.

Damn, I can't believe I actually mixed the trucks up. I'm still tired from work today, haha.

Also, the Glendale thing was that Winston parked on the outskirts of Glendale, then walked in after he nearly crashed. I can see how I didn't really convey that well from my post however.

Ok, I thought you just pulled up to the house and snuck up on the group :p

But yeah, I guess you could've slipped through patrols, because the secessionists are actively patrolling the abandoned part of the town to find my group. Maybe you could just edit in that Winston eluded the roving patrols before stumbling upon the group.

There we go! Fixed it up! I just had him get a little lucky and just manage to accidentally avoid them, except for one of the patrols, which he intentionally avoids.

I. Am. Going. To. Write. A goddamned post. Tonight.
