Just watched Battlefield 1 trailer and was excited until I realized that I'm trusting EA to produce a good game.

When I saw it, I literally said out loud, "Finally! A World War One game!"

But because it's a 3A shooter, it's going to be nothing like real WW1 combat. Because that's "too boring".

FPSs are almost never like real war. Everyone wants to be a hero. Healing is too fast. Bullets almost always fire where you want them to. Grenades blow up people but not structures. Tanks wind up in the middle of battles. Pilots hug the treeline. Every day is heated battle and every night is more heated battle. Artillery is conveniently nonexistent. It's really a matter of finding the least inaccurate representation.
