But then he got lazy, because he didn't really have any decent challengers among the demons...until he lost his powers to the evil generals, who were demon-gods who were originally in his army. Now he's trying to get back his powers so he can submit those demon-gods back to him, and then he'll go and try to take over the universe the main characters are in.

Riddle me this. Why was god here only a few months ago then? This is much too soon for all of the damage to be Raven's, your plan's main issue is, in fact, time. All of this could not, even by gods of their tier, been accomplished in such a short amount of time.

My guess is that THIS Raven is the Native American Trickster God. God is still God, but God was killed by the Rot, God possibly being betrayed by Raven, and then the Rot turned on Raven, who is now trying to exact his revenge.

Either that, or he's just taking advantage of all our (somewhat) good characters and trying to usurp the throne of God in all the chaos.
