THE WEST IS RED
The year is 2029, the year of uncertain relationship between the two halves of the former United States of America. Always has the United States claimed that it would be held together by the spirit of unity, and again, the threat of division looms over them. World War 3 started in 2017 and ended in 2026, causing the deaths of 25 million civilians. Two halves exist. The Socialist Chinese backed West, and the Nationalist Russian backed East.
The problem all started with the election of Donald Trump, the last president of a United States and a right wing dictator. Elected by a narrow margin with the support of Conservative elements of American society, the President carried out acts of terror against minority populations of the USA. Invading Mexico and subjugating the unprepared nation in months, he caused a scene of uproar in the United Nations. Being the first nation to leave the United Nations on free will, the Nationalist American Government allied itself with newly elected Eurosceptic nations in Europe, namely France and Germany. Meanwhile within America, Liberal and moderate Conservative forces came together and fought the first battle of World War 3 in the city of Los Angeles. Utterly defeated, all Democratic Front troops retreated to San Francisco. Sieged inside the city for a year, the rebels fought tooth and nail to prevent the city to fall into enemy hands. Through shot and shell they endured the powerful Nationalist army, until China, India, England, and Russia pledged their allegiance to the rebels and invaded California to free the rebels from the siege. Many years pass as Chinese-Indian coalition forces push on the West and Anglo-Russian troops attack the heavily defended East. Soon, Russia has overrun Europe by 2025. Washington DC refused to fall. The largest bombing campaign in history occurred in D.C., with 70 nations contributing their Air Force to the campaign, and 30 nations participating in the land battles around the city. On September 13, 2026, Washington DC fell. America was no longer a Superpower.
The Treaty of Geneva (2026) required cooperation between China and Russia. Russia annexed the Baltic States and Alaska, and China took Hawaii. Among other territorial changes, Korea was united under the Northern Government, Japan was made into a single-party state with the Emperor as only a nominal symbol of the nation, and Saudi Arabia was to be occupied by India until 2099. France and Germany were to admit defeat and to pay all war debts that belonged to Russia. America was to be permanently destroyed and split into two, a Liberal West and a Nationalist moderate East. The west was ruled by Interim President Bernie Sanders and the east ruled by Interim President Milo Yiannopolous. Both immediately ran into trouble. A egotistical politician and former musician, Kanye West, defied the expectations of observers and immediately took control of the senate a month after the tragic death of Sanders in office, and after the 10 month grace period for elections in the East, Ted Cruz was elected president with 77% of the vote. Demographics were skewed heavily, with Latino populations moving to the west and white right-wing aligned populations moving to the East or purged by the radically Socialist Western regime. Blacks in the west stayed where they were, dominating politics along with Latinos. However, due to ignorance of American social demographics, blacks in the East mostly were moved to the enclaves of South Chicago and Detroit, administered jointly by China and Western America. However, Ted Cruz's platform for election was the cleanup of borders, including the annexation of the enclaves and border errors with Western America. This escalated into riots when a group of whites in Michigan burned down the ghost town of Dearborn, crossed fences into Detroit, and vandalized the local government building in protest against the existence of West America. The Supreme Leader of the West promised military mobilization in the enclaves, and with West's ego and Cruz's stubbornness, the situation only seems to escalate, with border clashes and people defecting on both sides increasing in instance. There is a possibility of another war.
