Micronesia is owned by the Germans at the moment. The FRCA is also conducting several missions in the central-northern pacific. Not sure who else is at the moment.

I can't see much strategic value for Vinland in owning it, but then again some colonisation was about prestige rather than strategy. It would mean having to split more of your budget to a Pacific fleet, but once again I'm not really sure you'll need a massive Atlantic fleet anyway.

It was mainly an action by the third president of Vinland to improve Its pretige internationally and to be used a a gate way to easier trade in the orient. It is mainly ignored as just a overseas territory but i well probably install a naval base.

Other than the environmental implications, I'm not sure what would put the Federal Republic's government off such a project, since the environment wasn't exactly their priority at that point, or this point.

The greatest hindrance to the Panama Canal project was the loss of life, caused by the lack of access to clean water in jungle conditions. By laying the groundwork for the Nicaragua Canal and as the project moves forward, you are turning Lake Nicaragua into a deadzone and the water highly polluted. Lake Nicaragua is a major source for drinking water which you will have destroyed, leaving workers and the population without water, raising the cost and backlash tremendously .

I am simply trying to enter into Africa. It makes the rp more interesting. Also, who said anything about the African colonies needing to be grounded in reality? The world is so different that anyone could be planning on building up colonies in Africa. We simply must wait and see.

Also, Russia, do you want to make a joint condemnation of the coup within Turkey? Seeing as we are both republics, I think that it would make sense. Maybe we should also condemn the Hungarian ultimatum.

You cannot be more appalled by the 'ultimatum' than the receivers themselves, i.e. Belgrade. Plus, the official ultimatum mentioned has never been sent, at least not yet. The demands issued by Budapest were just that - demands from one state to another through usual diplomatic channels, the contents of which have remained mostly unclear to outside states.

Seeing as the Hungarian proposal hands over territories that are already actively German possessions to England, Iberia, and Scotland I dearly hope nobody will mind if we safely ignore it.

On the same note: I do really need everyone who's seriously involved in the Frankfurt talks to give me suggestions so I can build a compromise decision. The German and Scottish delegation are both united in deciding that the Congo is Scottish. Beyond that, Germany is adamant that Nigeria go to Denmark, and that her current possessions on the continent will not be given up arbitrarily to some other state.

A suggestion that they will be taking on board is that of the Suez Company owning the Suez Canal, since it's of such strategic importance to all of the European powers.
