The politics of Switzerland take place in the framework of a multi-party federal directorial democratic republic, whereby the Federal Council of Switzerland is the collective head of government and head of state. Executive power is exercised by the government and the federal administration and is not concentrated in any one person. Federal legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
Switzerland is the closest state in the world to a direct democracy. For any change in the constitution, a referendum is mandatory (mandatory referendum); for any change in a law, a referendum can be requested (optional referendum). Through referenda, citizens may challenge any law voted by federal parliament and through federal popular initiative introduce amendments to the federal constitution.
The same system is used for the three administrative levels municipality, canton, country. If the community is small enough like in little villages, the parliament representing the people does not exist. Also the ordinary law does then not exist, only the constitution of the village. The term "council" is used ambiguously, sometimes it refers to legislation, i.e. parliament, sometimes to the execution, i.e. government.

The Swiss Confederacy is a melting pot of many European cultures. The confederacy welcomed all refugees from across the world that were torn apart by the conflict, and had a university education or had a skill that the confederacy wanted. The most important part of the migration policy was that the offer was only open to Europeans, and some Asians in countries like Japan that were judged to be easily assimilated. This resulted in a population that is highly educated, and the Swiss economy started to grow like crazy, making the already wealthy country even more wealthy.
Undocumented immigrants from other parts of the globe can also be found. They are used as unskilled workers, and are paid little. They are not counted on any census, and legally are not allowed in Switzerland. They live in squalid conditions, inside Switzerland.

The Bergspitze-34 is the primary heavy tank in service with the Swiss army. They are mostly used to defend the many mountain passes into Switzerland. The tank has unparalleled firepower, and armor, with an array of missile defense systems, at a great cost to its mobility. Although, there are heavy tanks in the Swiss army, Main Battle tanks, and Light Tanks still exist, and operate in far greater numbers. The main battle tank is the Lawine-42. A state of the art vehicle that offers the best performance in mountainous terrain. The light tank is the Schneeflocke-32. A tank mostly used for recon in force. The Swiss Air Force is completely based off of interceptors, and fighters, as all they need to do is to defend Switzerland. Swiss aircraft have very limited air to ground capabilities, and are mostly tasked with securing the skies of Switzerland. The Swiss main fighter jet is the Hurrikan Mk II, the premier fighter jet in the entire world. Capable of taking on any other foreign aircraft. The Orkan is the main interceptor, it is fast, heavily armed, and agile, however it requires a lot of maintenance and is prohibitively expensive for most nations to field. It has state of the art sensors that is capable of detecting stealth aircraft, and shooting them down. Both of those aircraft can carry 2x 100kg bombs.

The Swiss economy is based off of banking, and has one of the highest income rates in all of Europe, with many nations looking on with envy. The Swiss banking sector is giant, and is unparalleled by anything that the other nations can offer. Holding a giant portion of the the world's gold reserve, the Swiss economy is highly stable, and if worse comes to worse can always fall back to its ungodly gold reserve. Its banks also holds a large part of the world's dictators' gold. Switzerland is also notable for having the new capital of the United Nations, after the collapse, and destabilization of New York City.
A large number of world corporations are headquartered in Switzerland, most of them fleeing from the United States and the crumbling EU, and taking advantage of the low taxes of the country. This has allowed Switzerland to headquarter a disproportionate number of corporations.

History:
The Swiss confederation benefited greatly from the collapse of the United States, and the Eurozone. With the sudden massive inflation of both the Euro, and the USD many countries including many in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe decided to adopt the Swiss Franc, famed for its stability as their national currency. This also was combined a massive influx of money from panicked officials, and rich people through the world. To take advantage of the situation, the Swiss decided to accept any client that registers to its banks. Much to the outrage of the collapsing powers, however the Swiss made one condition. Anyone who from there on forth who wished to deposit money in a Swiss bank, must forfeit 10% of it.
The Chinese Revolution allowed the Swiss the gain a gigantic amount of corrupt CCP money, under the original contract. Much to the outrage of China, since the assets were all claimed to be "illegal property". However, the Swiss refused to turn over the money, or the corrupt CCP officials as the Swiss offered the option of all account holders with over 50 million dollars the ability to forfeit 50% of their assets for protection in Switzerland. This allowed a massive influx of money to the banking nation, which it promptly converted to more gold, and foreign loans. The fall of Europe also created a massive migration of university educated students, and large corporations fleeing into Switzerland. This created the perfect storm for the Swiss economy to start growing like mad. This created a massive amount of disposable income, and a massive demand for low skilled workers, a job that few Swiss assimilated or otherwise want to take. So, Switzerland started importing workers from the other parts of the world, to do construction, and other tasks. They are paid a subsistence wage, and often live at a living standard that is lower than most other Swiss. However, it is still better than most other parts of the world.
