Unknown System
Tsveri Slaver FOB
49th Inner Systems Fleet

The Federation was hard pressed to find a fleet to counterattack the Damascus Slavers. With the Federation gearing for war, the main fleets of the Federation, the Azure, Maroon, and Black Fleets were stationed in the Frontier, preparing for the word to begin jumps into the Covenant. Many other smaller fleets were being brought in as well, while others were brought in to patrol the frontiers and borders in their absence.

The 49th Inner Systems Fleet was one of the few open for such a task in these dark times. The Inner Systems surrounded what was known as the Core Worlds, the systems that were the birth place of the founding members of the Federation such as the Tagali, Maug-Lai, Taani, Valonians, Dalga, and the Yongmee. Tours in the Core Worlds and Inner Systems were relatively comfortable positions, as few pirates had the resources and manpower to take them on, and those that did would rather go after smaller less risky targets in the frontier than the Iron Fortresses that were the Core Worlds and the Inner System.

A detachment of the fleet entered the system, Lead by Three Sargassi-Class Capital ships and their typical escort vessels, rounding out to 33 ships in total. The FIS had followed the trail left by the Damascus Slavers to their base outside of Federation territory. The task was rather simple, finding an idle fleet in a time of rising tensions was the real difficulty. The Commander of this Detachment was a Neogradan Human, Admiral Vasili Konekov. While there were some Neogradan regiments in the Federation military, few felt the need to leave their own nation's military and systems. This lead to Konekov to be one of the few Neogradans of high rank in the Federation military.

Konekov got on the fleet comms, speaking to the crews of the entire fleet.

"Sailors and soldiers of the Federation Military. We are here to act as the first stepping stone in retrieving our stolen people from the hands of these Slavers. As you all know, three weeks ago, our countrymen in the Damascus were attacked without warning or mercy. Over a fourth of the population was kidnapped from our shores. Today, we have the honor of showing these Slavers what happens to those who trifle with the Tagali Federation. All Crews, battle Stations!"

The Federations ships readied their weapons, ready to fire on a moments notice. Squadrons of TF-BS "Kagans"and TF-BS2 "Ukatas" launched from the Carriers and Capital Ships. Konekov sent a message to the Tsveri FOB.

"Tsveri personnel, this is Admiral Vasili Konekov of the Tagali Federation Navy. You have kidnapped Federation citizens and we demand them back. You have two choices, either power down your weapons and stand down while Federation personnel board your station, or prepare to be sent to whatever afterlife you believe. It makes no difference to us. You have five minutes to comply."

The ship was filled with activity as the crew made the preparations for battle. Commander Yaliza and the other Commanders gathered around the holo projector in the ship's CIC, Commander Turing standing at her side, no longer in a position of control. Yaliza typed something into the Holo-projector, bringing up a hologram of the facility.

"Our Recon vessels were not able to get close enough without triggering the facilities defenses. That job is left to us. The Pennsylvania will stay back for the time being in case the Covenant are already there or the Kelraaza defenses have been activated. Two Squadrons will be sent out ahead. For this mission, the Federation will give Spectral Squadron for the scout group. Captain Daniel, which Alliance Squadron will you add?"

Bernard' Star
Lights began to flicker as the cyber-attacks began. “What is this?!” Oxlos demanded. “They seem to be invading our systems with computer hacking programs, initiating viral counter-measures!” Came the response from a Regama officer. Oxlos growled as the ship began to shake. “A coward’s tactic. Shield status?” He asked. “Holding at 87% Sir!” Was the response. Good, the shields were doing their job.

The hanger bays on the Hives and The Righteous Extermination opened, and Fighters spewed out, immediately making attack runs on the oncoming ships, making sure to keep away from any planetary defenses. Then the Hives released their larger ships. Within seconds the area around the Hives was filled with 62 Corvettes, 40 Frigates, and 25 Battleships, as well as over 3500 Fighters.

The Frigates opened fire on the approaching fleet with their long ranged weaponry, while the Corvettes flew in close to the enemy, firing at ships all around them. 17 Battleships surrounded The Righteous Extermination while the rest flew onward into battle.

Meanwhile on the Righteous Extermination the viral counter-measures were beginning to come online, fighting back the cyber-attacks, however it would take several minutes to finish. In the meantime the massive ship opened fire on any ships unfortunate enough to enter the weapons range of The Righteous Extermination, as did the Battleships.

The Hives too got in on the action, firing at the approaching vessels, causing the flak explosions to start up again. Oxlos felt a little better about this battle now.

"Send in Alpha Squad" Maxson ordered, looking over the map of the station. Out of nowhere, three vessels warped next to the station, and were immediately engaged by Kelraaza automated defenses. He couldn't make out what ships they were, but he could tell that they were dealing one hell of a beating to the automated defenses. "Zoom in on those ships" he ordered, and the nearby Deck Sergeant zoomed the picture in on the larger ship - a Cruiser. On the side were large black letters spelling out MacArthur, and painted on it's hull, was Atlas' symbol.

"It's Atlas" Maxson said, jumping back and hurrying towards the exit. "They're here for the same thing we are, and we can't let them get it. I'm going with the Alliance Marines boarding the station. Come or don't come, it's your choice". Maxson proceeded out of the room in a hurry.

Zobus Nebula, Dronis Sector, Covenant Space

The Zobus Nebula was an interstellar cloud of dust and various gases that stretched for dozens of light-years near the border between the Dronis and Aicury Sectors. The Nebula had been discovered millennia ago, but had been viewed as unimportant and useless by Covenant expeditions into the Nebula. The nebula most consisted of young stars that had no planets that the Covenant could colonize, or any asteroid belts that could be mined for resources. The area was avoided by the thousands of ships that traveled through the Dronis Sector on a daily basis.

Recently, the Covenant Inquisition took an interest in the nebula, as they had plans to set up maximum security prisons in the Nebula where the most dangerous criminals in the Covenant could be sent, so they would not pose a threat to the civilian population in the more populated areas of Covenant space. Additionally, Covenant military bases could be set up in the Nebula to keep watch over the area, which High Command had deemed as vulnerable to attack.

Thousands of probes had been sent out into the nebula in order to map it out, as the Covenant had not fully mapped out the nebula in centuries. While this was occurring, some of the probes discovered a derelict structure in the nebula which had never been seen by any previous expedition. Covenant xenoarcheologists believed that the structure may have been built by the Old Ones, and more probes were sent to the structure in order to fully analyze it.

As this was happening, the probes spotted both the Atlas ships and the task force entering the area, as they too apparently had an interest in this structure. With the Atlas ships being immediately recognized by the probes, the probes sent out a distress signal in all directions throughout Covenant space.

The nearest inhabited system was some 100 light-years away. It was an area of high traffic, and it had a jump gate in it. The gate's military garrison picked up the signal, and thus, they would be the first to respond to this incident. High Command immediately ordered a Covenant squadron of 25 ships to be sent into nebula to see exactly what these ships were doing in Covenant space.

Even if the Covenant were to cease to exist, the idea of the Covenant would still exists in the minds of the trillions of Cho'Dosans and humans that were once part of it. They would restore the Covenant, one way or another."

"The Federation doesn't want to find out if the Alliance is capable, the Federation would rather have a friendly Covenant Nation than a conquered Covenant people. As you've said, Atlas has shaken the power balance in the galaxy, with them backing the Alliance, they could shake it even more, especially if they claim Covenant resources and territory. It is in the best interests of the Federation and the galaxy to keep the status quo."

"Indeed," Gavid replied. "We truly lived in troubled times. Just ten years ago, the Covenant did not even know your nation existed, and now, galactic war looms on the horizon."

The Fist of Authority - 10th Theta Sector Forward Operations Base
Malaekor System

The person in charge of the Fist of Authority was not expecting this. She was a rare administrator; an enslaved Azuri. The Azuri were normally used as pleasure slaves, or on occasion labor slaves. However, due to her extreme defiance and resilience to torture, she had been selected and trained as an authority figure for a forward operations base. Likely to keep her away from Imperial territory. Her name was Alia Faelis. Her skin was an oddly bright, pink tint compared to the normal dark blue; her tentacle-like hair shifted slightly in annoyance at the message. The 201st Fleet was already back in Imperial territory, far from here; and they expected her to power down and hand them over like magic? She opened a communications channel, her dark violet eyes flickering and almost glowing.

"Attention Admiral Konekov. I am Mistress Alia Faelis, representative and commander in place for Lord Arkoavu of the Tsveri Empire, of the Fist of Authority forward operations base. The fleet you are likely looking for has already gone through here, and is in Imperial territory. I have some authority, but I do not have the authority to give your people back. I cannot power down any form of weapons; your fleet could be here simply to destroy us all, and I cannot leave us defenseless. However, I can allow some of your personnel to board the Fist of Authority, as it is a docking station for this FOB.

I have Lord Arkoavu's authority to summon a Crosin Diplomatic Unit here so that you may negotiate the return of your people. If you attack this FOB, which is monitored by the next FOB headed into Imperial territory, my master will know of my demise. Lord Arkoavu's influence would allow him to declare war on you for destruction of his property.
", she finished speaking. Alia called herself property, but she didn't seem happy to use the term. Her violet eyes seemed full of... playfulness, almost; as if everything were a game, and she knew how to win. If what she said concerning this 'Lord Arkoavu' was true, that meant the Federation would be starting a war if they fired so much as a bullet into Alia, or did any damage that would be fatal to her to the station.

Faul Republic
Ayao
Kellerackus, Forgotten Battleground, Hades System

Ayao fell dejectedly into her seat, exhausted and battered, her mood sour. She and Kett had returned to the Kellerackus, having somehow managed to escape the ancient dreadnought with both their lives intact. Though the same could not be said for the two crewmembers who had been claimed in the earlier ambush. Grief had overwhelmed the Faulian ship, and tempers were flaring, some angry at the situation and others angry at Ayao for her foolishness. But, despite what they had lost, something important had been gained.

The ancient dreadnought was theirs now.

An ancient A.I. had inhabited the dreadnought’s bridge and, as expected, had attempted to kill Ayao and Kett as they hid from the sentinel pursuing them. In a panic Ayao had plunged the hardlight blade into the computer systems and with an absurd amount of luck had fried the A.I.’s processors. The artificial being was dead and with it the ship’s defenses.

“Was it worth it?” Kett asked from his station, looking out the viewport and to the massive dreadnought. He hadn’t known those killed but the loss still hurt.

Ayao sighed. “We’re gonna make it worth it.”

The Kellerackus could do little to explore the ship on its own. Its crew was too small. So it had been decided that the Survey Corps would return with help, and an HDF escort for good measure. With enough hands they could secure the dreadnought and maybe get its systems functioning. Maybe they could even make the jump into FTL. Moving it closer to Faulian territory would make things a lot easier than having a three week journey either way. So the Kellerackus pushed away from the gas giants and away from the deep gravity well, pausing only to attach a probe that would be activated upon their return so as to pinpoint their find.

Less than thirty minutes later and the Faulians were gone from the system. For now at least.

"I'll stay behind for this one. Keep you up to date on any changes in the battlefield and coordinate our fighters and Battle Suits. Good luck, Captain."

Pennsylvania Hangar

All across the Hangar, technicians and marines alike scurried around like ants in an ant hill, all with specific tasks in mind. Spectral Squadrons Strike suits got into position to exit the hangar, tranforming into their fighter mode, going from a light Battle Suit into a typical Interceptor. The Marie's fireteam's Strike Suits had decals painted on them. Each one having a different horseman of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

"Squadron Leader Chevalier to Control. Spectral Squadron is prepared for launch over."

"Copy that Horseman-01. Wait for further instructions." A small panel showed up on Marie's HUD, showing the face of her second in Command, Luxor.

"You know, when the FIS approached us to be apart of this task group, I thought we would be fighting Covvies, not ancient constructs." SSgt. Paresh piped in as well.

"I agree. Us from Saraswati learned our lesson not to trifle with Kelraaza constructs." The Type-G human said.

"If it's a problem, feel free to resign once we return to port. For now, just follow the plan and we'll make it." Marie said. Sgt. Mitsuru chimed in as well.

"Besides, we survived Volahad, right? If we can survive the bloodiest battle in Federation history, I think we can beat back a few Atlas ships and some Fighter Drones."

Paresh smirked and chuckled.

"I guess you're right." Meanwhile, Commander Turing approached Captain Daniel and the rest of the marines gearing up for the mission. Accompanying Daniel and his Marines was a group of Federation Marines, Ovaka Platoon. The Federation Marines watched as the Commander approached the Captain. They watched, waiting for a fight to unfold. Turing handed Daniel a chip.

"Despite my complaints, Commander Yaliza has instructed me to give you this. This is an AI fragment of Shiva. Once you're inside, find the Control Center and insert her into a terminal. Once that is done, we will have full control of the facility and the defenses. I will also be supplying you with intel during the mission. Make sure not to die, it will look bad on me if you go and get yourself killed." Turing walked off with a smug look on his face, seemingly forgetting what had happened back on New Jakala.

"An FIS Operative can either be your best friend, or your worst nightmare. It seems this one is the latter." A voice came from behind Daniel. It was a Tagali, although his skin was a dark blue instead of Yaliza's ice pale color, signifying that he was from Jakala, the home world. The Tagali man extended his cybernetic left arm for Daniel to shake.

"Lieutenant Jagan Va-Zalid, me and my Marines will be watching your six on board that station. Don't let him get to you. In my 30 years in the Marines, I've worked with my fair share of FIS Operatives. Those that have worked in the Field or come from one of the military branches like Commander Yaliza are some of the finest men and women the Federation has to offer. Those that come in straight out of the academy who received their station through grades instead of actual merit are some of the biggest Tarlachs in the Galaxy. Take a guess which one he is."

Kelraaza Refueling Station
Kelraaza Dreadnought "Heart of Tilos"
Commander's Sanctum

"Adjutant, why have you awakened me?" A large synthetic figure said to the small AI floating around the room.

"General Jenik, I apologize for the intrusion, but primitives have approached the base. They seemed to be adequately equipped, as they weren't completely destroyed by our defenses within seconds. They've even managed to land boarding parties aboard the station. Legionnaires have been activated but if nothing is done, they will surely take the facility with heavy casualties." Three holograms appeared in the room, showing the three separate groups of ships.

"Two more groups have arrived as well, but they don't seem to be coming to the aid of the first group." Jenik's synthetic body began to pull parts from across the room as if being sucked into a black hole. The final piece was a long rod which jenik banged on the ground activating a hardlight blade on the ends, making it a war scythe.

"Or this station has been caught in the middle of a three way conflict. Send in the Leviathan to make an example of the first arrivals. Maybe that will show the other fleets to steer clear of this place. I'll deal with the intruders myself." Jenik said, quickly teleporting to another area of the station.

Meanwhile...

Outside the station, a heavy battle ensued between Atlas and the Kelraaza automatons. Suddenly, parts of the station began to come off, but not from Atlas's guns which had managed to do very little against the thick hull of the Station and the dreadnought. The parts began to form a leviathan, a large Kelraaza defense construct. Once finished, the Leviathan flew towards the nearest Atlas ship, grabbing the dwarfed vessel in its clutches. Once secure, the Leviathan into the fired its beam cannon, splitting the ship in two. The Leviathan discarded the wreckage of the ship and moved its large arms in front of its beam cannon, waiting for it to charge.

Meanwhile on board the station, Jenik teleported in the middle of a squad of Atlas Marines, catching them off guard. Jenik moved among them as if a ghost, slicing them into multiple body parts. Once the Marines were killed, Jenik picked up the severed head of one of the soldiers.

"You must be a young race." Jenik said, throwing the head across the room before teleporting to his next target.

Task Force Pennsylvania
Bridge

The crew watched in surprise as the large construct built it self and destroyed one of the Atlas ships with ease. Many of the Alliance crew had never seen anything like it, but some of the veteran Federation crew knew this was just the tip of the ice berg when it came to Kelraaza technology. As the Alliance crew began to talk amongst themselves asking what that thing was, Yaliza spoke up.

"That is a Kelraaza Leviathan. They're usually found defending orbital stations and key locations. That thing may look invincible, but it isn't. Like many Kelraaza weapons, they deliver a powerful payload, but take time to fire again. Keep the ship away from it and let it deal with the Atlas ships." Yaliza opened up a Comm channel to Daniel.

"Captain Daniel, a Leviathan has been launched against the Atlas fleet, but don't worry, they're made to target larger vessels. It should bother your boarding team and your escorts. Still keep your distance. You can never be too sure about Kelraaza technology." Yaliza then opened a communication with the Broken Wind, the other ship in the task force.

"Commander Yaliza to Captain Kaff. The facility has launched a Kelraaza Leviathan. Keep your distance."

We are currently attempting to exert ourselves into a more favorable position, and if you show interest we could discuss a way for both sides to benefit. An alliance, if you will, but more casual if you would prefer.”

Members of the Council were not here to argue, meaning Tayo had free reign to act as she wished and, knowing Tataro, would have his full support in this matter. The Minister hoped that something more could arise from this unfortunate situation, but at the very least she could attempt to make certain that, should the humans wish to distance themselves, that Faul remained an unknown star from outside factions.

Tataro spoke up next, asserting himself into the discussion. “If you require time to discuss this amongst yourselves we can offer lodgings for the time being. A show of good faith.”

Ky smiled warmly when he saw the tension reduce slightly, and at the acceptance of the apology. Thank God these Faulians are diplomatic, he thought, Makes for us to continue living. Despite this, when the Minister asked Ky to delete the co-ordinates he, Matt and several of the crew bristled. Oh dear.

"Unfortunately, as to your statements we are unable to leave, as I, and I take responsibility for this, transmitted the ship's data log and this system's co-ordinates to our home system, as per exploration protocol. I sent it again with an urgent note telling my superiors to not intervene, I'm sure you'd wish to know. So, I assume we will be taking the offer of your lodgings, until a diplomat arrives to handle the finer things of the discussion. I must apologise again for doing this, but I assure you that my judgement is somewhat respected. May I ask, what is your atmosphere content? These masks are sort of uncomfortable, if we could breathe the atmosphere without dying, it would be nice to know."

One of the Minister’s antenna twitched at the announcement. Steps had been taken to keep the location of the Faulian homeworld a secret in fear of exposing themselves to the far larger empires inhabiting the galaxy, and now that information had been compromised. The Council wouldn’t like it, they barely had accepted the Zhong Vey, but at this point there was little other option other than to proceed ahead.

A small sigh escaped the Minister. “That is… unfortunate, but I will take your word. Lodgings will be made available on the planet below. A transport will take you and your ship can remain in orbit for the time being.”

“Oxygen with a lot of nitrogen, give or take some trace elements,” Tataro added.

Tayo took back over. “We’ll have a shuttle arrive shortly. If you wish to inform your crew then feel free to do so now.”

Omar System, "The Rubble"
Qaliz City
Cho'Dosan Ward(Ar'Sei Clan territory)
Market District

Adelle Okamisana wandered around the crowded corridors of the Market District, the only Type-G, or human for that matter in the area. Around her were nothing but Cho'Dosan, who were human in appearance except for their blue skin and red eyes. She could feel their eyes looking over her. She was not welcomed there, as non Cho'Dosan were not welcomed in the Cho'Dosan Ward ever since the Ar'Sei had claimed the territory.

But Adelle didn't know that. She had just arrived in the system the previous day to visit her cousin, Kumiko, the local Oyobun of the Okamisana Yakuza in the Rubble. The day began as a simple trip through the streets of Okamisana controlled Qaliz City, specifically the areas around the Star port. Unfortunately, the crowds were busier than usual and she got separated from her body guards. She tried to retrace her steps, but she only seemed to get farther and farther away.

Adelle was beginning to worry. She stuck out like a sore thumb in her clean expensive clothing, her Type-G black eyes save for her red pupils. She knew that she would have to find her way back soon. She had no idea how much time had passed either, as the Cho'Dosan Ward part of the city was built inside a massive cavern in the middle of an asteroid. Buildings sprawled out from everywhere, even the ceiling.

Adelle decided to take a risk and ask for directions, something that could prove fatal in a place like the Rubble if one decided to take advantage of the situation. Adelle approached a well dressed Cho'Dosan man.

"Excuse me, sir. I need help getting back to Qaliz Star Port. Can you point me in the right direction?" The young Girl asked.
Quote of the- Oh, I don't know how long I'm gonna have this on here.
"It's all good in the hood!" I replied cheerfully. But deep down, I knew that there were many socio-economic problems in the hood.

Aboard the Nights Cradle - 1st Diplomatic Flotilla
Fleet Comander Zhar-Cull Azif Callur
Orbit of Eto Prime - Faul System

"The High Council have seen the opportune moment and seized it. They're going to drive us all into the dirt again Gods damn it!"

Azif was furiously pacing around the bridge, swinging his hands to emphasize the anger his voice carried. The news of the High Councils coup had just reached the Nights Cradle and the flotilla and there was a unanimous feeling of uncertainty rippling throughout the crew, Azif was vexed about the issue and had initially refused to believe its authenticity, but the subsequent broadcasts for all Fleet Commanders to return to Inaba by the War Council had cemented the reality of it all, something that was hard to take in. It was obvious why they wanted all the Fleet Commanders back, it was to either force them to accept the new regime or, if they refused, be executed on the spot. Azif had made his opinion clear on the matter, by no means was he going to fold in to their demands and they would have to take him back by force rather than go willingly, he had his loyal sailors and tribemates at his back. The War Council had forseen this defiance and had dispatched a small fleet to reign the Diplomatic Flotilla in, by force. Before the fleet rolled in, he had to contact the Faulians of the impending danger as it was rather possible that the HDF home fleet would come under attack if they were to intervene in any way, not a great start to any alliance, not that it meant anything now the High Council had rescinded that agreement.

To complicate the matter even further, another unknown fleet had jumped into the system and it wasn't Faulian nor Zhong Vey, it was yet another alien fleet. An unknown entity to both Zhong Vey and Faulian alike judging by the similar manner they were received - with a compliment of warships. As amazed as they were at the slim percentage of such an occurrence happening, they still had a much larger problem to deal with first, there would be no negotiations with this race if the approaching retrieval party had their way, it would be a deceleration of war.

"Do we still have a line of communication with the Faulian delegates. The Captain, any of them?"

"Not directly. But we can push a message to their high command." The communications offer replied, readying the console to transmit a message.

"Tell them we need to talk urgently."

A high priority hail would be beamed towards the HDF fleet in orbit of Eto Prime and hopefully, be relayed to the Minister or anybody of importance.

Cho'Dosan Ward, Qaliz City, Omar System

The Cho'Dosan Ward of Qaliz City was one of the most heavily populated areas in the city, as it was home to millions of Cho'Dosans. Many Cho'Dosans arrived after the Highbreed War, either fleeing the chaos because their homes were destroyed or fleeing the ensuing Covenant Civil War between the Loyalists, Reformers, and various third party groups. Others were criminals and terrorists seeking to escape the wrath of the Covenant Inquisition after the Reformers took power. Nevertheless, the lawless region of the Rubble offered a second opportunity to these people.

The Ar'Sei Clan had also arrived in the Rubble after the Reformers took power, with its founder Forrhen Ar'Sei wanting to avoid being hunted down by the Inquisitors. While they still operated in Covenant space, their headquarters were now located in the Rubble, far from the Covenant's jurisdiction. Upon arriving in the Cho'Dosan Ward, Forrhen set up his own "mini-Covenant" in the Rubble by first proclaiming control of all Cho'Dosans in the Rubble. He banned all other sapient species from living in Ar'Sei territory except Cho'Dosans, and he ruled over the Cho'Dosans with an iron fist. All rival competition in the his territory was stomped out, ensuring that the only illegal activity occurring was being done by Clan members. He even taxed the people that lived in Ar'Sei territory, while at the same time keeping the infrastructure maintained to ensure living standards were adequate. Forrhen had become very wealthy due to his criminal empire, and he lived in luxury in his palace in the Rubble.

The Market District of the Ward was always a busy place, with thousands doing business in the ward on a daily basis. However, the glaring red stare of dozens of Cho'Dosans in the market began to face one direction- towards Adelle Okamisana, who stuck out among the crowd. They quickly turned their gaze away, already knowing the fate of anyone who didn't have blue skin and red eyes on this side of the city.

Adelle had approached a well dressed man who ignored her and quickly walked away, afraid of the consequences of even conversing with a non Cho'Dosan. He had made the right decision, as Clan members dressed in their light brown armor and wielding Covenant plasma cannons began to approach the girl....

Journalists had already began asking questions about Captain Syrinx and Oenone's and the rest of the squadron's sudden departure from the habitat, but Tranquilllity had tried its best to give them minimalist answers, just enough to get them to shove off. Michael felt mildly frustrated with the whole affair, tired of the surprises that seemed to be cropping up. Tranquillity, sensing his distaste, spoke to him quizzically.

Is something wrong?
No... just tired.
Good. The journalists are calling for answers, and I'm having trouble keeping them off. There's one from another nation here as well, on holiday.
Give me a moment.

Also... it hesitated, Quite a few of our citizens want the squadron to be deployed. Imperialists.
Hmm. Do we have a diplomat spare?
The only option I can create is Syrinx. We haven't focused on diplomacy.

Michael ran his hands through his hair, making it ruffled. There's been no news from Cranel?
No.
We'll have to send her. One of the High Tacticians told me that Cranel is unskilled in diplomacy. Syrinx has a knack for that sort of thing. Deploy Oenone and the squadron. Have Syrinx move in, and the rest playing dead in the far outreaches of the system.
Unfortunate as it is, I agree this has to be done to protect relations with these Faulians. Sending the order now.

Captain Syrinx lit up the moment that the update came through her and Oenone's affinity. We're going! Come on Oeonne!

A great burst of excitement came from Oenone as the ship's distortion field warped space-time, along with the squadron, and swallowed towards the Pacem system. Once they arrived, Syrinx would make herself known, while the other hawks deactivated all transmissions, heat dispensers or anything that would let the Faulians see them.

The delegation was making final preparations for their human guests when a young HDF officer rushed into the hangar bay, panicked and out of breath from her run. Skidding to a halt, the officer addressed the Minister. “We have a situation.”

Minister Tayo frowned. She already had too many situations on hand. “What is it.”

“The Zhong Vey. They wish to speak with you. It’s urgent.”

Tataro shrugged. “Their sense of urgency may not be the same as ours. In any case, Minister, feel free to attend to the matter. I will see to it that our guests are made comfortable. The Spire has space, no?”

What choice did the Minister have? “Very well. It was a pleasure meeting you.”

A final bow of the head and Tayo was off to Outreach STC, the aides and half the HDF guard following after. The remaining HDF troopers would remain with Tataro and would see the humans safely down to the planet below once the transport arrived. Not that security was inherently necessary – crime was practically nonexistent due to Faulian culture. It was more so a recently adopted procedure to give foreign nationals peace of mind, and more importantly to keep the curious onlookers a safe distance away.

Reaching the station’s STC center the Minister was greeted to a somewhat disheartening sight as the few officers on duty stood about looking rather pale. “Can anyone tell me what’s going on?”

The most senior officer spoke up. “The Zhong Vey wish to speak with you. They say it’s urgent.”

“And?”

“That’s all we know.”

Tayo sighed. “Very well. Put me through.” A few seconds later and a connection had been made between Outreach and the Zhong Vey diplomatic vessel. The Minister, looking rather tired from her long day, glanced up to the screen to see Azif, and likewise he would see her image on his end. “You needed to speak with me?”

Kelraaza Derelict Station// Zobus Station

So much was happening at once, and Commander Maxson hardly had the time to deal with it all. He was approached by a Tagali Marine who identified himself as Lieutenant Jagan Va-Zalid, who informed him that he'd be in command of the Feds that will be assisting Alliance and Ostian troops on the Derelict Station. He firmly, and kindly, shook the soldier's cybernetic hand, and responded. "He's loyal - I can respect that- but he needs to look past the interests of the Federation and understand that there is more at stake right now". He paused, gathering his words, than continuing. "But that's besides the point. Right now, our goal is to take control of that station before Atlas has the opportunity. Good luck, Lieutenant".

Commander Maxson then hurried to his shuttle, and within a few minutes, detached from the Pennsylvania and roared through the battlefield between the Leviathan and the Atlas ships. Maxson quickly got over comms and relayed orders. "All units, this is Commander Maxson. Do not engage Atlas forces - we can't afford a three-way battle. If Atlas forces engage, all bets are off - you can attack. Plan remains the same. Alliance Forces will proceed to the Control Center and deactivate the automated defenses. The Federation squad will proceed to and take control of the Kelraaza Dreadnought, and the Ostian Force will be tasked with helping take down that damned Leviathan and keeping the pressure off of our ships. Good luck, everyone".

The Alliance Marines proceeded towards the dock closest to the Command Center...

HES Watchful
Bernard's Star Inner Orbit

Amon watched as the wall of charged particles reappeared. He'd seen this before from the remains of the footage from the first contact. Once again, streamers of particles lashed out to make contact with his ships, rending through EM fields with the first shot and tearing armour asunder with the second shot. Within moments, the Frigates Serpenior and Absolution suffered from critical damage and their fusion bottles overloaded, converting the ships into two expanding clouds of plasma. More ships received minor and major damage, the Espatier teams rushing out onto the hull in order to patch them up in all good speed.

The wall of fire also had a considerable thinning effect on the incoming missile salvo. What had started off as over three thousand of missiles was shorn down to a meagre fraction of that when they reached detonation range. Still, over nine hundred had slipped through the net to deploy their submunitions and detonate, XRASERs spearing down towards the Hives with the force of...well, a nuclear explosion. Thousands of beams flashed into existence for a briefest instant, playing across the shields and hulls of the conical ships before disappearing.

And there were the stingships, Amon noticed. Swarming away from their parents like wasps, they dove towards the ISC ships in daring attack runs...but the fire from their own ships left them woefully limited in their options and the Liliths tore through them, the fleet's integrated point-defence network unleashing a fusillade of flickering LASERs dancing from target to target with malicious glee as metals sublimated then condensed within seconds. Still, several ships reported damages from minor hull breaches to Liliths brought offline by the swarming stingships.

The Watchful pressed its relayed attacks, adapting the cyberwarfare packages and transmission methods from attack to attack. More and more was being directed towards the smaller ships, attempting to overwhelm their weaker cyberwarfare suites and the spread from inside the enemy's own FleetCom. At the very least, it would force them to regulate their comms to each other. At best, it could bring a considerable portion of their fleet out of the fight.

Engines kicking into full force, the main force jumped forwards and split around the oncoming fleet, the Taari-designed squadrons taking the inner sides of the spoon-shaped force which was flowing around the Colma flank. The intention was obvious. If the Colma continued accelerating to try and get around the back of the ISC ships, or to attack the orbital defences, they'd be caught between the planetary defences and the fleet itself, both able to fire without worrying about hitting friendlies in the process. If they burned off their velocity, they'd lose their unpredictability relative to the orbital defences if they destroyed the main fleet.

A ripple of fire and missiles rippled outwards from the ISC ships, MASERs tearing into the Colma ships with their own brand of ferocity. Light flared as photons were scattered by shielding, visible only to the dozens of watchful eyes each warship mounted across her body. Chunks of metal and ceramics exploded outwards, half-molten and running like water the instant before they refroze. Casaba-howitzer exploded, lances of plasma streaking through space to carve into ships and shield alike like a firestorm of positively-charged fury. Unlike the long-range missile salvo, the fire was directed at the smaller ships: the Corvettes and Frigates which stood less of a chance of deflecting and absorbing the energies being directed towards them.

And then, like a poorly-placed plot twist from a bad movie, the first signatures from the decoy fleet shone out from behind the planet. Now the spoon shape took on a new significance: the Colma were now between the new 'fleet' and the original force. And, from Amon's point of view, that gave the clumsy kinetic weapons plenty of opportunity to hit something before they came out of the other side of the Colma fleet...not that he had high hopes for that tactic. The decoys were only going to have any form of precise guidance in the terminal phase: long after it was likely they'd already hit or missed. Still, they would force whoever was in charge of this fleet's hand...or claw, or tentacle. Or whatever.

Bernard’s Star
The missiles managed to damage the Hive ships, however they continued to fire. The Sting Fighters continued to make runs on the enemy ships, this time however they began flying in erratic patterns in an attempt to throw off the enemy targeting sensors. On the Cyber-warfare side of things, the Colma counter-measures began to break down, forcing the Colma to attempt a complete systems purge and reboot on some of the more effected ships.

If that wasn’t enough the Colma vessels were being pounded by enemy fire, some of them exploding in a bright crimson light. Suddenly a Colma comm officer on The Righteous Extermination spoke up frantically. “Sir! Enemy forces have appeared on the far side of the planet!” They said. Oxlos had the officer hand him a tablet detailing the sensor data, and sure enough, a large fleet appeared out of nowhere.

This isn’t right… Oxlos thought. Then he growled. “Should we fall back?” The officer asked him. Oxlos gave him a stern look. “No. Hold position.” He ordered. The officer looked frightened and confused. “We’ll be overrun!” He insisted. Oxlos growled at the officer and grabbed him by the back of the head, shoving his face in front of the tablet.

“Look at this you fool! They aren’t moving! Why would they not move? Furthermore, where did they come from? We detected no Hyperdrive signatures, nor did we detect energy emissions indicating cloaked ships! I suspect that those ‘ships’ are in fact nothing more than decoys! After all, why would they not use them to fight us if they were real?” Oxlos explained, releasing the officer after he finished.

“Well then what do we do?” The officer inquired. “Simple; we make them think that they have fooled us, when in fact they have not! Begin to ‘retreat’, and then when they no doubt decide to follow us, have one of the hive fly right at them and detonate!” Oxlos replied. The officer gasped. “Sir?!” He asked in disbelief. Oxlos stood up menacingly. “Did I stutter?!” He asked.

“No sir…” The officer replied, walking back to his post. Oxlos sat down as the fleet began to fall back, however one of the more damaged hives held back a bit, preparing to charge the enemy fleet and explode, which would inflice severe damage to anything caught in the blast radius.

Amon grinned as the Colma ships began to stall their velocity and then reverse it. They were starting to pull out! It had worked! A message rippled outwards from the Watchful, flowing down the chain of command, and the 'spoon' began to pull away as well, moving to try and form a wall perpendicular to the ecliptic, the better to protect the planet below. A salvo of missiles shot forwards, chasing towards the retreating ships. MASERs flashed invisibly and the three Orion-class opened up again, golden lances searing across space to strike at the colossal ship once more.

Amon's glee only intensified as the technomancers reported that the the Colma had begun full-scale purges of their ships' computers. They'd intruded far enough into the system to force them to go out of their way to remove them. The Watchful continued to press home the attack, although the mounting distance between her and the enemy fleet, and the advantages they would gain because of it, would certainly degrade her ability to do so.

With the decrease in the volume of firepower being directed at them, the ISC ships began to consolidate, EM fields flickering weakly back to life in the situations which allowed it. However, the same decrease gave their fighters room to maneuver and suddenly the damned things were becoming much harder to hit. In some situations, they were even managing to hide themselves in the stacks of telemetry uplinks which rose out of the ships' hulls. That certainly put a dampener on Amon's glee, but they could be mopped up once the enemy's main force was either scattered or retreated.

Several squadrons hadn't pulled back into the wall, instead forming up on the Insufferable and tagging along behind the enemy forces, hurling missiles at them and sticking to their flanks as much as possible: avoiding the formidable firepower their larger ships could output. But one of their conical vessels was apparently injured and the squadrons contracted around it, circling it like vultures at just over the light-second range and pounding it with XRASERs from their missiles and MASERs from their Adams.

Amon's grin died as the ship's engines roared into life, charging directly towards the Insufferable. Connecting with the Battlecruiser, the ship tore its hapless victim in twain before detonating, whether from the XRASERs which had punched into its side or the crew's machinations Amon couldn't tell. But the Insufferable died, along with the Remorseful and the Hopeful and almost a third of their escorts. As the Disgraceful pulled back into the wall with the remaining Escorts, Amon waited to see what the Colma would do next. The ball was in their court now.

The Alliance Marines proceeded towards the dock closest to the Command Center...

The Federation Boarding craft docked along side the Alliance Vessel. Federation Marines poured out of the vessel, immediately scanning the area for hostiles. Much to their confusion, the hangar was completely devoid of defenses. Jagan kept his gun raised just in case.

"Somethings wrong, there should be Kelraaza legionnaires crawling all over the place." Turing came over the comms.

"From what we've been able to gather from Atlas channels. Legionnaires are preoccupied with them for the time being. Let the Terrorists distract them, but take heed, who knows what could be skulking around in there." Jagan turned towards Daniel.

"Keep an eye out for anything suspicious, I've seen some nasty traps aboard vessels and stations similar to this one. Head out Marines." The Federations moved out, heading for the large door leading out to the rest of the station. Immediately as they opened the large automatic doors, they came across the mutilated corpses of Atlas marines thrown across the corridor. bullet holes riddled the walls, but the lack of destroyed legionnaires showed that it was a very one sided battle.

Jagan looked over the bodies. This was unusual. Legionnaires would not falter from close combat, but their results were unimaginative and usually only one strike. These soldiers were sliced in half multiple times with what Jagan could see as enthusiasm, yet the cuts were clean and orderly, only possible by a synthetic entity.

"I've never seen anything like this. Legionnaires don't put this much effort in kills." Jagan got on the comms.

"Captain Daniel, be on alert, we might encounter a new enemy type." Out of no where, Jagan heard a cry of pain come from one of his men. Out of nowhere, a large synthetic figure appeared out of nowhere, a marine empaled on its large Hardlight War Scythe. Jagan and the marines spared no time firing on the target. The figure put up a shield of psionic energy, blocking their Plasma rounds with ease. Once they saw that their firing was useless, one of the more psionically capable Marines launched a blast of Psionic energy, dispersing the Synthetic's psionic shields. Without hesitation, the figure teleported again. Throughout the corridors, a voice rang out.

"You have been gifted with psionics as well? Perhaps you shall make more satisfying prey unlike these other intruders that have broken into my sanctuary. I shall be seeing again soon." The voice perplexed the Federation Marines.

"Did that Legionnaire just talk?" One of the Marines said in his confusion.

"Maybe it was an Adjutant, Kelraaza AI aren't exactly defenseless."

"Kelraaza AI might be advanced, but all that we've encountered so far and use don't have psionic capabilities." Jagan said. Jagan opened a comms link with Daniel to bring the news. The message was also sent back to the Pennsylvania for Commander Yaliza.

"Jagan to Daniel. Possible Kelraaza survivor sighted, continue on with caution." Yaliza chimmed in over the comms.

"A Kelraaza Survivor? Are you sure?"

"Yes Madame, unless the FIS has knowledge of Kelraaza constructs that have high psionic abilities. Also seems to have a nasty habit of teleportation." Yaliza now spoke to Daniel.

"Captain Daniel, it is now crucial you get to the Control Room. Kelraaza Survivors aren't all like the ones that we discovered during the High Breed War. While I ask that you bring it in alive, you will not be held responsible if the Survivor is killed. Good Luck, Captain."

Bernard’s Star
Oxlos roared in triumph when he saw a large amount of ships die in the fire along with the Hive, his laughter filling the entire bridge. Even as missiles slammed into Colma ships Oxlos was still laughing. It had worked! “Hah hah hah! The Filthy Soft-skins weren’t expecting that! Now bring all ships about and charge them! Rain down death upon them!” He commanded, and it was so.

The fleet was now moving in the opposite direction, and they opened fire on the alien ships that stood in their way. The hulls of enemy ships would be subjected to a rain of particle weapons fire, which would tear holes in the ships, and rip entire sections off of them completely. The Fighters in the meantime stayed away from the main bombardment, opting instead to target smaller ships that had broken off from, or were on the outskirts of the main enemy force. Some of the fighters were now utilizing Kamikaze tactics to damage or destroy ships, while the rest continued to strafe the enemy ships, swarming around them like angry bees.

Oxlos chuckled as he saw the display. “Foolish Soft-Skins, you should have accepted my offer, now you will all perish!” He said, broadcasting his words to the enemy fleet.

"Call whoever you need to, just get it done. Try anything and we will not hesitate to teach you the error of your ways." Konekov said. Konekov was fiercely loyal to the Federation, one would have to be to make it to the rank of Admiral. The Federation was one of the most powerful nations in the known galaxy, few nations could even hold a candle to their military and technological might and all knew what would happen if they attacked the Federation.

These Slavers had made a lot of trouble for the Federation. If they were allowed to get away with destroying a Colonial Militia fleet and enslaving Federation citizens, other powers would begin to think of the Federation as weak and possibly try to make a move for territory or sway in the galactic community. It would also send a message to the criminal elements that the Federation was an easy target and bring a whole slew of problems for the Federation, causing them to diverge a large portion of their military to anti-piracy sweeps when they were needed elsewhere. The Federation had to make a statement here that they would not stand for this behavior, or else it could bring ruin to the whole nation.
Quote of the- Oh, I don't know how long I'm gonna have this on here.
"It's all good in the hood!" I replied cheerfully. But deep down, I knew that there were many socio-economic problems in the hood.

Alia simply nodded after Konekov said that. She then cut off the communications, setting up a live comms feed with her master, Lord Arkoavu. While she waited, she continued to think of something. Perhaps these people could get her free, as well. She squashed that thought immediately. No. She could do more in her current position, she decided. After a long moment, Lord Arkoavu answered the call; his face extremely cybernetic. The infamous Lord of Seukana was not to be trifled with, she knew. She spoke to Arkoavu.

"My Lord, a large fleet is here claiming to be of the 'Tagali Federation.' Some of their citizens were taken as merchandise by the 201st Slaver Fleet, and they want their people back. I told them I would call you for a Crosin Diplomatic Unit.", she said. Lord Arkoavu looked thoughtful for a moment, his crimson eyes analyzing her silently. He simply nodded, the comms channel closing. She knew what this meant. A Crosin Diplomatic Unit was on their way. After a moment, she reopened the comms with Konekov.

"Lord Arkoavu is sending a Crosin Diplomatic Unit; they shall be here within the hour. If you would like, you can dock some of your ships with the Fist of Authority. Or you can send whoever shall be negotiating with the CDU in question.", she informed the Admiral. The Mistress seemed now somewhat disinterested in all of this. It was odd how she could switch between playful and disinterested at a moment's notice.

The Orson Empire wrote:Cho'Dosan Ward, Qaliz City, Omar System

Adelle noticed the two Cho'Dosan men walking towards her. Anyone could tell that armed men approaching them was bad news, so Adelle began to walk further, picking up the pace yet trying to make it look like she wasn't being pursued. Adelle soon came across an alley off of the main road. Hoping that they had lost her in their line of sight, Adelle went down the dark passage way. Unfortunately for her, it turned out to be a dead end, and the two Cho'Dosan men had cornered her. Adelle pulled out the knife her father had given her for protection, it was designed like a japanese tanto, but with a hardlight edge to cut through anything.

"What do you want with me, don't you know who I am?" She asked, terrified. The knife shook violently with the vibrations of her hands.

Meanwhile, two other men were wandering the Cho'Dosan market. Like Adelle, they were Type-Gs and well dressed, wearing armored Oni masks to protect the one major Achilles heel of a Type-G, their head. They didn't carry weapons on them, as their super human strength and speed often proved enough.

"God Dammit, the Boss is going to kill us if we don't find her. Do you have anything, Inaho?" The other Okamisana gangster smelled the air.

"Yeah, I have her scent. Follow me." The two men made their way through the crowd, towards the source of Adelle's scent.

"Understood" Commander Maxson answered, and continued advancing with his Marines. So far, they'd only run into a few groups of automated defenses, for Atlas was drawing them to other parts of the station. Though, the Commander was filled with worry. Teleportation? Psionics? How the hell were they supposed to fight something so powerful? Daniel's thoughts were ripped away from him when a large wave of Legionnaires came in for the attack. He and the others dove into cover as enemy fire peppered the ground around them, and soon popped up to return fire. Lasers whizzed by their heads, but they continued to engage fearlessly, and would soon find themselves standing before piles of scrap metal that were once Kelraaza defenders. The Alliance Marines rushed through the complex network of hallways that made up this Derelict Station, and it was very clear that nothing had live here for a long, long time. The metal floor, walls, and ceiling had become discolored and rusted, and millennia of decay had made the air toxic to Humans. Each Marine in the squad had his mask on and secured so that he could breathe.

At the head of the squad, Daniel guided them based off of the AI fragment of Shiva which was given to him by Commander Turing - giving him directions on how to navigate through the ancient facility. After frequent stops to repel attacks by Legionnaires, the Marines could see the Command Center, and hurried towards it. "Commander Yaliza," Daniel said over the comms with weak breath from the constant running and fighting, "We're almost at the Command Center, and let me tell you it wasn't easy getting here. The layout of this place makes about as much sense as a Football bat". Daniel stopped talking, as he realized that the Tagali woman would likely not know much about Human sports, let alone the joke he made. He ran foreword, leading the Marines as they burst into the massive Command Center. It was mostly open and empty, with a giant glass window looking out at the rest of the station. As they climbed the stairs to the Central Computer, Daniel could see the battle taking place between the Atlas ships and the Levaithan. It was, to say the least, brutal. A small part of him hoped that the men he used to call comrade would make it.

"Yaliza," Daniel said over comms as he approached the main console - looking a screen of ever-changing shapes and symbols which he could not possibly decipher. "I'm at the central computer, but I can't make sense of any of this... lemme find a port or something...". Daniel pulled the small chip that contained the AI out of his vest, holding out in his palm. Two beams of green light shot out from the computer, straight into the chip, and it would break open as a beam of light shot back into the computer.

INITIATING AI PROTOCAL 46-B: SHIVA... PROCESSING... PROCESSING... AI PROTOCAL 46-B: SHIVA INITIATED. PLEASE STATE ORDERS.

"Deactivate Security Protocols" Daniel said, staring at the green cluster of light that was ever-spinning in a constant sphere right in front of him.

WE CANNOT DO THAT WITHOUT CLASS-A CLEARENCE.

"Shit" Daniel snapped, jumping back onto the comms. "Yaliza, I can't deactivate the ship's defenses without clearance. What can you do?"

Zobus Nebula, Dronis Sector, Covenant Space

The Covenant squadron of 25 ships, consisting of one cruiser and a mix of destroyers and frigates, arrived in the Zobus Nebula, responding to the distress call from the probes. The ships arrived to a mess of a battle, as there appeared to be a three-way fight between Atlas, the Federation task force, and the Kelraazan defenses. Onboard the cruiser, the capital ship of the squadron, the commodore of the squadron would view a map of the area and all ships that had been deployed in it.

"What the hell is going on here?" the commodore would say as he witnessed the battle.

"Sir, High Command has confirmed that this station was built by the Old Ones," one of the commodor's officers would say while viewing a message from High Command. "There is also a dreadnought aboard this station. We have been ordered to secure it at any cost."

The message would then be displayed by a holocomputer so the commodore himself could view it. "That is what Atlas must be after," the commodore would say. "We must act quickly."

The commodore would then activate his comlink. "All personnel, man your battlestations and prepare for combat! I want boarding parties on that station immediately. We must not allow them to escape with that dreadnought!"

As transports began to depart from the hangars of the ships and the ship crews scrambled to prepare for battle, the ships would also fire their tractor beams on the Atlas ships and the ships in the task force in order to keep them from moving.

Cho'Dosan Ward, Qaliz City, Omar System

The two Clansmen followed Adelle through the streets of the city until they had cornered her off in an alley near the main road. They watched as she cowered down in fear and pulled out a knife with a hardlight edge.

"Oh, we know exactly who you are," one of the Clansmen would say. He then switched his plasma cannon to the stun setting and fired straight at Adelle. The energy bolt hit Adelle and temporarily paralyzed her, causing her to fall to the ground.

The Clansmen rushed over. "Give me the syringe," the first Clansmen would say to the second. After receiving the syringe, the first Clansmen would inject a sedative into Adelle to ensure that she would remain passed out until they got her to the Boss.

"We need to get the hell out of here now," the second Clansmen would say. "I'm sure those Okamisana fucks will be looking for her."

"This way," the first Clansmen said as they ran out of the alley and disappeared into the crowd, dragging Adelle with them.
