In this Portugal slaves are only taken in battle and then the soldiers/officers who captured them get them. You cant just buy slaves, you have to fight for them. Meh, i think its fine. Its not too drastic of a change and the POD will allow for it. He will suffer internal political and economic penalties though

Its not weather I'm happy or not... its that you can't have the best of both worlds, with the moral highground and stability of a non-slave based economy and the plantation productivity of a free labor economy. And since that's the foundation of the Brazilian economy and Portugal isen't exactly swimming in the funds to revamp it...
