Alright, you can have the town but with a couple of conditions. 1) I'd rather it not have a direct link to reinforcements, meaning they should pretty much be on their own. So if something goes wrong an army shouldn't come down from nowhere. 2) You still have the character limit so everyone else would be NPC's. 3) They shouldn't be armed to the teeth. Maybe enough to fend off some infected or a small band of bandits, but they shouldn't go head on with the Dominion and survive. 4) If you use the town to make your own character(s) too powerful I will nerf it all in an amusing way of my choosing.[/quote]

1. Gotcha, but there can be still communication though via messengers or something like that, right?
2. Yeah I was gonna focus mainly on three-four people in the settlement.
3. The soldiers are gonna be the powerful-armed-to-the-teeth guys, the militiamen are mainly just armed civilians and not trained at all and then the civilians are mainly merchants or people like that.
4. Yeah, I'll watch out for that.

3) If the soldiers are that powerful then drop a few from their numbers or nerf them a bit. I have a generally dislike of soldier characters anyway (from previous experience). So take away some of their guns/ammo or leave a few guys at home.

4) Please do.

Soldiers are mainly there for protecting the settlement. They're in no way meant for any offensive duties in the settlement.

Still, 8 armed-to-the-teeth guys seem a bit extreme. Also depends on what weapons you mean, because I can only assume military-grade equipment. If it was thrown together like the Vultures then sure, but 8 guys with assault rifles makes me wary.

I planned on them having super-limited access to military-grade equipment and more on having police equipment (i.e. semi-automatic carbines, non-lethal grenades, etc.)

So long as all the weapons aren't in brand new condition (it has been 27 years) and that ammo isn't extremely abundant then fine.

Name:Annette Regine Wörnhör
Birthplace:Reno, Nevada
Ethnicity:German American
Age:19
Pic/Description:A lanky, 5'6", young adult with light brown hair, which she very rarely leaves down, and long bangs which she keeps loose over her forehead. Her skin is darker from exposure to the Nevada sun, and has an unblemished face, except for a few minor cuts and bruises. Annette's eyes are a dark green, which starkly contrasts her black button-down shirt, dark brown coat, and ripped jeans with brown boots hidden beneath.

Occupation:Trailing along with a trading caravan on its way to Colorado.
EquipmentShe has an extra pair of clothes and a bundle of hair ties in a leather bag. Annette is equipped with a small kitchen knife and crowbar.

Immunity:Partial/Carrier

Personality:Quiet and thoughtful.
Skills:Persuasive and fast.
Likes:The color purple, alone time, reading, whittling, exercise, playing pranks and telling stories.
Dislikes:Laziness and cats.
Fears:Drowning and spiders.

Bio:Annette Regine Wörnhör - who prefers to be called Ann - was born in Reno, Nevada. Ann doesn't remember her parents. All she knows about her life as a baby and toddler was that her parents were killed tragically back in Reno after a gang of bandits attacked one of their many temporary homes. Her father had owed the gang for a passed favor, but for whatever reason Father had refused to pay up. Ann and her parents had only been settled down for about a week before the gang found and ambushed them. Before they offed Ann, a man who was with a travelling caravan just so happened to pass by and see the commotion. Realizing that there was a family in trouble, he jumped into the fray and killed the bandits, along with the help of a few caravan members. Unfortunately, he was just a moment too late. Ann's father had been killed instantly after being shot in the side of the head. Her mother had been severely injured and died a few hours later, even with the help of The Caravan's medic. The kind man, whom she'd found was named Blake, took her in and raised her with The Caravan.

Blake taught her how to survive and fight, and she ended up travelling with him in The Caravan. They trekked across the southwest, selling their food and supplies to needy settlements in return for weapons and ammo. Ann made many friends growing up with The Caravan. Out of all the people she met, though, her best friend was Lisa. Ann and Lisa shared many interests, and on many of their longer expeditions ended up talking and playing games.

After 17 years of living with The Caravan, Ann grew accustomed to the daily routine of The Caravan. She easily forgot about her tragic past, considering she hardly remembered her parents, and this group became her new family. But things in the southwest were becoming more and more difficult. Supplies were becoming more and more scarce, and settlements were turning to the new, more distrustful generation of leaders. The bandits were becoming especially stronger in this area, and profits were low. The Caravan knew they would have to move on to greener pastures soon.

Blake broke the news to Ann one day that they would be heading east to Colorado to try and find a better life. He told her there were rumors that Colorado Springs was abundant in goods that had not yet been picked through by scavengers. One fact that he neglected to mention was the dangers involved in getting there were incredibly high, and he was very reluctant to have to go. But, against his better judgment, he decided that the prospect of better profit outweighed the all the cons. Although he knew it was dangerous, he didn't think it would be the last time Ann and him would travel with The Cavan.

You know, the Bio is a bit short and you don't have any RP Examples, but you seem proficient at writing so I'm gonna take the risk. ACCEPTED. If you do add to the Bio that would be great.

Name: Blake Rosenberg
Birthplace:Los Angeles
Ethnicity:Caucasian
Age:43
Pic/Description:Blake
Occupation:Caravan Leader
Equipment
.300 Winchester Magnum (x30)
Remington 700 Sendero Hunting Rifle
Machete
Pocket knife
Atlas
Comb

Immunity:Full

Personality:Fearless, A bit rash, Reckless with his own life but does everything to protect others
Skills:Pathfinding, Street Smart, Marksmanship, Bartering, Leading
Likes:Guns, Whiskey, Being Social, and Helping Others
Dislikes:Idiots, Anyone who wishes to harm others
Fears:Losing those he loves, Losing his atlas, and Claustrophobic

Bio:Blake Rosenberg was originally from Los Angeles, California, where, before the Outbreak, he lived in his small apartment and worked as a cashier for one of the cities many stores. Although a stranger who knew him from the outside would have thought he was just another of L.A.'s many residents, trying to work his way up to the American Dream, any of his rare friends knew that he was actually part of an infamous gang who specialized in selling and buying a variety of illegal substances and merchandise. Essentially, he worked for a black market.

Blake had seen many things during his work with the gang. Many of these things he could never unsee, and wished he could go back and change. Eventually, Blake tried to leave the gang, but it didn't matter after the Outbreak. Almost all of the members ended up dying, either from the virus or from other gangs, and those who didn't went into hiding. Blake left the city after realizing there was nothing left there for him, bringing only a select set of items to bring along. He headed east for Nevada, where he thought he could try to find somewhere to hole up and eventually make a more permanent home. As he travelled through Nevada, Blake met many people in a variety of ways. Usually, he saved someone from getting killed by miraculously showing up at the last moment - which he seemed to have a knack of - or someone else would save his hide when he stumbled upon a danger.

Eventually, Blake ended up with a small group of companions, and since he seemed to have natural leadership skills, he unofficially became the leader. After they became more organized and slowly received more and more members, the group started becoming increasingly good at scavenging for supplies and bartering and selling. This organization ended up taking on the name of The Caravan.

One day while The Caravan was passing through Reno, Blake and a few others decided to scout the area before they set up camp. Blake headed south through town, and walked by a somewhat dilapidated house. He thought nothing of it, as it looked almost identical to the other houses on that street, until he heard the resonating screams of a woman and a small child. He heard gunshots, and instantly he plowed down the door, not thinking of his own safety. As always, he had jumped into the action at the very last moment. It just so happened that this moment was a little later than usual.

Before Blake took out the attackers, two of the people in the house had been mortally wounded. He walked over to the large man laying in a pool of blood. Digging into the man's pocket, he found a pack of old Camels and some very old nicotine patches. He took the cigarettes and left the patches.

Looking behind him, he saw the woman. From the look of it, she was beaten vigorously. Even though she was near death, she had enough energy to tell Blake about what had happened. She explained that the bandits had come to kill the man because he had refused to pay the price for a past favor the bandits had given him. Before she closed her eyes for the last time, she told him that she had a daughter, only two years old, in the other room. She also told Blake that her name was Annette Regine Wörnhör.

Blakes first look at the girl was of her crying in a corner, asking him if her mother was okay. Now they are fighting for their lives.

ACCEPTED. Now that I think about it both Sera (my character) and Ann have similar backgrounds. They both lost their parents in horrific ways only to be saved by some passing Samaritan. Plus, after reading the Bio, I have no doubt about your writing skills. As for Lisa, that's fine so don't feel bothered to App her.

Roster will be updated sometime soon, but feel free to go ahead and start posting anyone who was Accepted.

Considering my IRL workload, maybe Monday at the earliest. I need to get another post up but I've been a bit busy elsewhere.
