Probably. Especially since writing in first person for Christopher will feel quite odd.

Name: Westley Turner
Birthplace: Tacoma, Northwest Union
Ethnicity: White
Age: 26
Pic/Description: 6'0", brunette, male, muscular, hazel eyes, tattoo of crossed flintlock pistols on his right bicep. He lost his right eye in the sacking of Salida. Image

Occupation: Former Lieutenant in the Northwest Union Navy.
Equipment
M-22 Infantry Combat System (FN FAL, but chambered in 5.56)
Model 586 4 Inch Barrel
5.56 rounds (40 rounds, 2 magazines)
.357 magnum rounds (18 rounds)
.38 special rounds (24 rounds)
Button down shirt
Slacks
Hiking boots
Northwest Union military combat uniform

Immunity: Gifted

Personality: A kind, compassionate, yet quiet man. Keeps to himself usually, but when in a group can be a strong leader.
Skills: Hunting, sailing, marksmanship, swordfighting, and basic survival.
Likes: Nature, children, his homeland, and camping, his wife.
Dislikes: The infected, raiders, the Vancouver Commonwealth, and arrogance, The Vultures, The Order.
Fears: Being stranded alone, losing his wife.

Bio: Born in Tacoma, 2 years after the outbreak, to Alexander and Solina Turner, Westley enjoyed the outdoors from a young age. His parents took him camping in the forests of the Northwest for much of his life, though they never strayed far from Tacoma, for fear of the infected or raiders. He learned to hate raiders very early on when they brutally murdered a friend he had been out on a hunting trip with, and he proceeded to kill all of the raiders involved. To help protect his country against the raider scum, he enlisted in the Navy at the age of 16, and was assigned to one of their main warships, a sailing corvette named the UNS Bremerton. He served in the Emerald War, fought between the Northwest Union and the Vancouver Commonwealth for three bloody years. He quickly showed promise as a competent officer and gained the rank of Lieutenant, commanding the UNS Bremeton in the Battle of Seattle against a superior Commonwealth fleet, yet led his fleet to victory by using brilliant tactics. He later commanded the UNS Tacoma, the Union's flagship, and played a crucial role in the Siege of Vancouver by blockading the harbor, forcing the Commonwealth to capitulate. The peace talks were held aboard his ship, but soon after the war he resigned as he felt he had seen enough conflict. One night, he was in a bar drinking to forget the carnage he'd witnessed in the war, and got into a fight with a Commonwealth tourist who had begun talking about the war, and accidently killing him. Fearing punishment, he gathered his belongings and left, wandering for nine months until he made it to Aspen, Colorado. He decided to stop and rest before moving on again. After meeting Luke Laforge, a man whom would prove to be a very close friend to Westley, they returned to Glenwood, where Westley met his wife. After escaping the sackings of Glenwood, Aspen, Grand Junction, and Salida, the couple finally fled to a warmer, slightly more hospitable place: New Mexico. Westley has also heard of a new wae brewing out West, between factions from Arizona and Nevada, and the Californian Empire, and rumors had it some of the fighting may spill to the south.

Name: Lucia Turner
Birthplace: Glenwood, Colorado
Ethnicity: White

Occupation: Nurse
Equipment
Glock 17
9mm rounds (34x, 2 magazines)
Medical kit
Blouse
Skirt

Immunity: Full

Personality: Sweet, caring, compassionate, she always trys to see the best in people, unless they go after those she cares about, then she wishes nothing more than to see them dead.
Skills: Moderate medical proficiency, about the effectiveness of a military surgeon.
Likes: Nature, her home, her husband.
Dislikes: Vultures, bandits, infected, those who threaten her or those she cares about.
Fears: Dying, losing her family and friends.

Bio: Born to a Remnant military surgeon and his wife two years after the Outbreak, Lucia somehow avoided all of the conflicts, and stayed in relative safety inside the homeland, learning from her father how to be a nurse, as she always fancied medicine. She had much compassion for her patients, which made it all the more harder when some of them inevitably died, scarring jer slightly, though she is still an excellent nurse, albeit with limited supplies. Recently, she's met a man she treated for bite wounds, and escaped Glenwood with him, and has secretly taken to liking him, and he obviously reciprocates her feelings. Her and Westley survived four seperate sieges, and were married in Salida before its sacking, before moving south. She has recently become pregnant, which is both a blessing and a curse in this world of evil, but she knows Westley will do whatever he physically can to protect his new family.

Seeing as I will be focusing more on their son for this installment, I'll give you some liberty to control them a bit, but we'll see how that works as we go on. Does that sound good to you?

Alright, so essentially Major NPC's. Do you want to app them or should I just make them orange? I'd also like to know a bit in terms of how they'd react after having spent the last 3 months living with Sera. How would they treat her?

I'll probably app them at some point, but for now they are NPCs. How would they treat her? Well, they would probably treat fine, but I can imagine them being somewhat distanced from her, as she might remind them too much of Rebecca. Hugh might be somewhat closer, given that Lauren and Sera weren't on the best of terms last they spoke, and Lauren probably blames Rebecca's death on Sera's getting caught in Junction, whereas Hugh blames himself.

Also, Christopher's app is done.

Is 3 guys a normal amount to start off with? I'm thinking maybe childhood friends that grew up together just after the outbreak started (mid-late 20's) my current rough story arc has them starting from the south and traveling northward in search of good salvage to come back and trade with. Maybe Denver or maybe to the remains of the places the vultures burned. (With dreams of going to the legendary Cheyenne)

Also I don't want to start them off with too much in terms of weapons.

Guy 1: recurve bow, 4 arrows, pry bar, folding knife, glock 17, 2 full magazines (17x2) and 14 in a case
Guy 2: worn modified 1 sided axe (plan to have it break at some point)
Guy 3: 2 long handled machetes/cleavers, fixed 4.5 inch blade knife, short handlegrip lever action 10 guage shotgun modified with a welded on hatchet, 8 (10 guage) shells, flare gun, 2 flares.

Extra(haven't decided who to assign them to): Short pump action 12 gauge handlegrip shotgun, Standard 12 guage pump action shotgun, 81 (12 guage) shells, breech loaded .22 LR folding rifle 169 .22 LR ounds

Thoughts?

As for the weapons, maybe cut back on some of the ammo a bit but otherwise I don't have an issue with it. Also, word of advice, going straight to Denver is a death wish. If the Vultures don't get you the Reavers will.

Something along the lines of 'You did well for a first-timer"? :P

I'll get an app up for the WM in order of how easy it is to cut yourself on each of them. (Vagrant first :P)

Yep. I think we would be best leaving Lauren's temperament toward Sera somewhere in between or otherwise ambiguous until we can decide in greater detail what happened during the winter. We don't want to go one direction and then find that it should be the other.

As to the whole parentless child and childless (sorry Chris, you don't count right now) parents thing, I don't think that the Garmanys would really fill a parental role, but I can see at least Hugh going beyond friendship to sort of guide Sera if need be. I dunno. I'm really tired right now and should get some sleep.

I just realized that Hugh has encountered two Deckards, taken them as good people worth building friendships with, and then gone of on another path just before they lose their shit and go completely genocidal. Hell, I was building a basis for him to fall in love with Sarah in Outbreak if I didn't resurrect Lauren. Hugh is one lucky bastard to dodge those two bullets.

That one/three guys that every apocalypse story needshas are back, ready to be less edgy, but still sharp! (Smaller) Apps for the Evictor and the Watcher will be up in the next day or two, and definitely by the weekend (no promises, start of term, sport trials and all that)

Name: The Vagrant (Real name revealed in old OP/backstory posts :))
Nation Name: True Refuge
Birthplace: LA, California
Ethnicity: White
Age: 33 (had his birthday during the timeskip, but no cake :()
Pic/Description:
Edgy Version
Image
Non-Edgy Version
Couldn't find one. Too edgy. His face is usually obscured by his cloak. His eyes are haunted, despite what his personality would have you believe. Twenty seven years of constant stress has started the tiniest wisps of grey on his deeply brown haired head, a semi-constant jeer his fellows often use to hide their own greying. The Vagrant is six feet one, although the image conveyed by his cloaked figure and his worn boots makes him seem a little taller. His hands are covered by brown traveller's gloves, rumoured to hide scars from the fumbling of his first attempt at sword-fighting. His mouth is usually neutral, although a slight smirk or warm smile can be found, usually when they've arrived in a settlement.

Occupation: Swordsman, Walking Man, Fading Legend.

Immunity: Full

(OPTIONAL)
Personality: At first, the Vagrant appears warm/friendly, in the same manner of his colleagues, ready to welcome whoever approaches him. However, behind the kind gestures and the warmth, the Vagrant is quickly judging your worth, the danger you pose and what exactly to do with you, be it acquaint, ignore or murder. Despite these tendencies, the Vagrant enjoys the smaller things, such as companionship, nature's beauty (except when he and his buddies set a forest on fire.) and is fine with making new colleagues if you're not a liability. After regaining his voice (lost from the early days of the Break), he is rather outspoken, to make up for decades of silence. To anyone who will listen, he's the type who would whittle away the night with stories of his cohort's adventures, of which there are many, although he is quick to stop if he thinks you're getting bored.

Skills:The Vagrant has a masterful swordsmanship ability (27 years practise and all that), and that combined with agility, above average intelligence and his fellows at his back, gives him an edge over infected and humans alike (but only if they're not masters at using guns, cuz gunz usually > swordz and all that). As the Walking Men do a lot of travelling (as per the name), the Vagrant has quite the impressive stamina along with a good running speed. Seven years of separation from his friends has hardened him in addition to the opening events of the Outbreak, leaving him less susceptible to mental manipulation. When he wants to make a new acquaintance, he can initiate conversation with ease.

Likes: Swordplay, the art of battle, the occasional banter, his friends (far and few between, they are.), light drinking (trauma and all that), storytelling, the relaxation of travelling, and reminiscing on 'old times'.

Dislikes: Arrogance, unskilled blade users, unnecessary delays, annoying people who keep pointing out that guns are better than blades

Fears: Like most survivors, The Vagrant has a slight fear of the dark. His main crippling fear, of course, is finding someone better at the sword than him, for the legend and the actions that have defined him is held dear. On the inside, Abominations scare him a little bit, as they're enemies that he can't kill.

Bio: The Vagrant's past has been rumoured over in state of Colorado and a few in neighbouring states. Most who thought about them at their peak believed that he was merciless from a child, killing three men with the sword of a survivor that they had just slain. As with all myths, a grain of truth lies within. On Day Zero In Los Angeles, a five year old boy barricaded himself in his bedroom with that week's groceries after the explosions, and his fear grew when his parents did not return that afternoon. For twenty-five days, the boy rationed out what little he had. On Day 25, a party of survivors looted his house and found him sitting, clutching a shard of glass with a death grip. Travelling through the streets of empty suburbia, the young Vagrant saw his parents' corpses, barely recognisable and riddled with bullets as they clutched each other, traumatizing his mind beyond belief and rendering him mute.

On Day 36, the party settled down to rest in one of the satellite suburbs, to discuss their plans after leaving the city. While they were well-stocked and able to support a five-year-old travelling with them, most refused to take the boy any further. The one man who truly wanted to protect the Vagrant out of the goodness of his heart and found him sitting on his bed was shot and killed as all those with good hearts are, and the boy heard it all. The Vagrant did kill all who were left, with the assistance of the other Walking Men, and to this day holds his finder's weapon as a remembrance of one of the city's first murders and the sacrifice that man made. To the two teenagers who found him quivering, his shard now a blade, he uttered a sentence far beyond his age. "I have no house, no home. I have nowhere to stay. I am a vagrant". From this, his nickname and title stuck.

For many years, the newly formed Walking Men traversed away from the traumas of their home, avoiding the Remnant squads rapidly appearing as the time passed, killing small bandit gangs and honing their skills with the blade. The Vagrant at one time held a collection of sword literature, ranging from maintenance to combat guides, but all have since been discarded and lost to rot and entropy. In Year 15, the Walking Men emerged from their travels masters of swordsmanship, and set about clearing Colorado and its surrounding states of the scurge of bandits. Leaders and their guards disappeared from their shelters, only to be found bloodied and brutalized at the edge of camps. They were once well known, at this time, receiving adoration and respect for their bravery, but fame fades fast, and easily becomes infamy.

In Year 17, the Order settlement of Fairview, a population of hundreds, was razed. The Walking Men were directly responsible, for their assassination of the Iron Legion's dictator did not go as planned. While the leader of the bandit gang ended up dead, the injured Walking Men were unable to elude them and the new leader's lust for vengeance. In Fairview, they were received with open arms, and they slipped into the shadows and waited for the atrocity they could do nothing to stop. When the war party finally arrived, the Walking Men ran for the hills, leaving hundreds to their deaths. Survivors spread an exaggerated tale of their involvement, and admiration quickly turned to hate in the Order, although other settlements were not as concerned. As the years passed, the Walking Men continued their guerilla adventures, but their public appearances dropped as the Order attempted to eradicate them, and eventually they decided to temporarily split in Year 20 for a few years to lose their legend, and have a fresh start.

COMMUNIST
"If we have food, he will eat. If we have air, he will breathe. If we have fuel, he will fly." - Becky Chambers, Record of a Spaceborn Few
"One does not need to be surprised then, when 26 years later the outrageous slogan is repeated, which we Marxists burned all bridges with: to “pick up” the banner of the bourgeoisie. - International Communist Party, Dialogue with Stalin.

ML, anarchism, co-operativism (known incorrectly as "Market Socialism"), Proudhonism, radical liberalism, utopianism, social democracy, national capitalism, Maoism, etc. are not communist tendencies. Read a book already.

Image

Occupation: Former New Colonies outrider, now a scavenger/mercenary until rescue arrives

Immunity: Full

Personality: Daring, adventurous, somewhat arrogant. He is prone to bouts of rage and madness, but refuses to fully succumb to his insanity. He believes in the values of the old world and the New Colonies and hence refuses to take part in banditry.
Skills: Horse riding, sword fighting, pistol usage, survival
Likes: Being free, riding, adrenaline, sports
Dislikes: Being commanded, being restricted, the infected
Fears: Being bitten, being trapped, being incapacitated

Bio: Thomas, known more commonly as Tommy, was born to General Paine of the freshly formed New Colonies in its capital of New Detroit. He was named after the founder of the nation, Thomas Kennedy, and the first Chancellor, Henry Herbert.

He attended the prestigious and only school in the New Colonies, the New Detroit Academy, formerly Wayne State University, being among the first of its students. He took a dislike for the more traditional subjects such as Mathematics and the sciences, preferring the lessons taught on survival, shooting, and horseriding at the Academy.

It was no surprise when he joined the Outrider Corps following his graduation at 16. He spent three years training, eventually putting his skills to the test in the Outrider exam- a week long challenge where an Outrider recruit was sent to the frozen and yet untamed wastes of what was formerly Canada, having to survive the harsh winter and fend of attacks from the infected, raiders and any remaining wildlife. Tommy passed almost with ease.

From there he was assigned to the ill-fated Montgomery Expedition to the American Midwest, becoming the only known survivor. He has since been travelling through Colorado, gathering supplies and looking for a way to contact the New Colonies.

He joined the expedition at Aspen, not taking part in bringing down the brute, but helping to clear the lurker den and chasing after those captured by the Vultures. In the Vulture prison cells he was overcome by fear at being trapped and had a bout of insanity where he killed a slave there.

He escaped alongside Randy, Jen and Cain but became more and more overcome by his insanity, leading to him totally lapsing into insanity by the time he reached Grand Junction. He killed several people in his escape from Grand Junction and then made it to Salida.

In Salida he met Father MacKenzie and was imprisoned after an argument. He broke out, killing a guard and taking his clothes before escaping Salida and ending up in the Vulture camp with Jen.

He left the Vultures during the winter, but has stalked them from afar, sabotaging their operations and killing isolated members. He has returned to Denver and hinders Culture operations closer to home.

Will have another application up soon for one of the Horse Guards. They've not yet strayed to Colorado as a unit, but individuals have been sent out on tracking missions.

Name: Ishmael
Birthplace: Estes Park
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 22
Pic/Description: http://static.zerochan.net/Guts.full.1149403.jpg

Occupation: Caravan Guard

Equipment:
Adaptive Combat Rifle (ACR)
45 5.56×45mm NATO rounds
Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV) winter camo
KA-BAR 5018 Knife
White winter coat
White ski pants
Winter boots

Immunity: PARTIAL / CARRIER (TD-13)

Personality: Cold and isolationist, Ishmael keeps to himself. He's not friendly and doesn't actively seek to make friends. He's shy as well, which just compounds on his personality.
Skills: Good at sensing danger as his time as a guard has kept him searching for enemies in the dark.
Likes: He likes the sense of safety he feels out on the road, even despite all of the dangers out on it.
Dislikes: Ishmael dislikes silence. It unnerves him as he feels that there's always a calm before the storm.
Fears: Has a crippling fear of Shrikes, as he saw one firsthand kill one of the fellow bodyguards on a caravan he was with. He's afraid of getting close with anyone after his parents. He's also afraid of public speaking.

Bio: Ishmael was born in the small settlement of Estes Park, 5 years after the infection had hit America. His father was a member of the small defensive force that fought off the infected whilst his mother was a scavenger. Estes Park is largely self sufficient and as such, from an early age he was taught things he would need to know that could help the settlement, such as being able to properly kill and skin a stag without wasting meat. At the age of 12, his father was bitten by an infected whilst trying to keep the settlement safe. He wasn't immune. Rather than let someone else do it, his mother went to put down her husband. She went in but she did not come out. His mother could not summon the strength to kill her husband and as such, when he turned he went and bit out her throat. The defense force had been waiting to go in but when it was clear that nobody would be coming out, they prepared to go in. Ishmael shook his head at them and simply stated he was going in. Many were against letting a 12 year old go and deal with possibly 2 infected, yet the leader of the defense force finally relented. He boy went in with the leader's own handgun. A few moments later and two gunshots could be heard. Yet, Ishmael didn't come out. When the defense force went in, expecting to find a family of infected, what they found instead was a crying boy stroking the cheeks of his now dead parents. He stayed with friends of his parents for a week. During the night, he slipped away and begged a nearby trader to take him along on their caravan. Soon enough, they took him along and he was gone from Estes Park. Years later, Ishmael was a grizzled caravan guard.

Alas yonder woman, damn you tempt me with thy saucy bosom
thus methinks I shall bestow my codpiece in thee & make naughty love to my lady all night
Please haste hither & quench this torment fairest maiden

I have a question... Would it be possible to have had Locust appear midway through winter at the mountain base? Or would it just be better to have him with the rest of the survivors out in New Mexico?
