For the thing Slo is doing!

Standing Squib in place of Maghrl 3.2 feet tall, around a meter.

Sterling I'm not sure, ask Gio what the average pony height would be and go a bit above it. He's a large tiny horse :p

Close enough for Sakarias 6'5"

A picture of a bear probably would work for Venla, unless I get some art of her before you finish the thing. She's 8.5 feet.

The horizontal lines are a meter apart. Sandy is 5' 10" in primitive units, with is about 88cm. The tallest elephant is 5m tall, which is 16' 8".

Elephants? Elephants:

But people win when they try!
  • Storm: the techpriests will upgrade one non-weapon part on Macy to whatever you'd like (add wings, change her overall appearance, give her different hair etc, give her an incredible singing voice, etc)
  • Slo: Elephants. You just need to find some humorous way for them to arrive (they come from the pipes, they're field mice enchanted for a few rounds, etc). Sandy finds the spell in an old book.
  • NVE: the raptor apartment fridge is stocked with tasty livers (and it replenishes itself)
  • Tilt: pick a character you want gifted
  • Swith: another full week vacation from any CoOP duties, as promised
  • Min: the local pub now stocks bloodwine. But wait - Mezran will discover that it comes from a Klingon colony in the Outermark, and they have a problem with tribbles. To the hunt! To the bloodwine!
  • NA: pick a character to be gifted
  • Fraire: the techpriests will hook Nathan up with a laptop once he's better adjusted to the setting.

If you'd like your character(s) to be included, I'll need a picture of them standing, or at least mostly upright. The picture should be relatively simple, because Illustrator's vector converter is OK but not great. (Yup, these are vector images. Trying to rescale raster images just makes a mess. I prefer a different image of Pegasus, but finding vector images of him standing isn't easy, and I took what I could get.)

Squirrel had a lovely picture made of Maghrl, but the background will cause trouble. However, it looks like it was made on a computer -- either that or the artist likes mixed media -- so if he can get the file and extract the foreground layer(s), that would be great.

For Height Reference Primordial
For Height Reference Insidious best I can find on short notice.
For Height Reference Aegis Might need crop the poor lady out.

Primordial: 6 Feet 0 Inches
Insidious: 5 Feet 8 Inches
Aegis: 6 feet 6 Inches

Average pony height is around 3'5" to 4' tall (at least for mares anyway), obviously give or take a few inches or a foot between individuals.

In "Hearth's Warming Eve," a candy cane decoration is specifically stated to be eight feet tall, and a foal is standing next to it and they measure up to be about three feet tall when compared to the cane. Comparing that with scenes of foals standing next to adults, adults measure up to be around four feet. Additionally, Princess Celestia is explicitly stated in the original show pitch bible to be seven feet tall from hooves to top of horn, so comparing her standing next to normal ponies, they again seem to stand around three-and-a-half or four feet. This is all given more weight too when you consider that ponies in real life do average around four feet ten inches.

When compared to the average American man, that'd put them slightly above waist level and for the average American woman, slightly below shoulder level. So they're too little to ride (your legs would drag across the ground, and extended periods of trying to do such would probably hurt them) but too big to pick up, and probably big enough to kill a person fairly quickly if they so chose to (especially if the height/weight ratio is the same in Equestria as it is in real life), so it wouldn't be a very good idea for them to be overly physical with human friends - no surprise jump-hugs or tackles.

Stupid question time: is that to the top of the head (as people are measured) or to the withers (top of the shoulders, more or less, as quadrupeds are measured)?

I've got vector tracings of Squirrel's characters, but OPA is all shades of grey, which blends too well into the bits of remaining background. I can get a trivial tracing of OPA with the rounded outlines, though.

Edit: with far too much work. :P *turns OPA into a frog, because I can get free vector images of frogs*

Neither Photoshop nor Illustrator will easily do much with char!Prim or Aegis. Black-on-black is too hard to separate into foreground and background. I'll take a stab at Insidious tomorrow.

In general, PLeople, simple images work better than photorealistic ones for this. Sterling works really well, for example. Characters who are essentially human, like the Luxans, may simply end up as color-coded generic human outlines in the reference (like I did with Sandy). Distinctive poses are good, of course.

Romy- 8'3" with armor on. Just around 8 feet tall out of his armor.
Nivea- 5'6". The image was literally the first thing I found when typing in "woman silhouette." :P

Yeah, it's a typical morning here.

Slo, I'll have my silhouettes up shortly. Two are easy, and you get a bonus of Ocho, if I can find the image.

EDIT: Also would it be too far fetched to say Beth had a HUD? If so than I wont bring it up.

A projection beyond her eye, or a display in her field of vision?

A display, I would be kind of disturbed if we chose the projection.

I'll take a guess and say that should be fine if she keeps it very simple, since it wasn't really defined in the app beyond "she can see". Cer's off having a daddy-daughter day with his kiddo today. I'm not sure when he'll log in.

Alright Slo... here's your chart. I can give you a version without the height lines and text, if you'd like.

Thanks! This is precisely what I need. Illustrator's trace tool will happily swallow these things. Also the one Ched posted for Nivea. It's not that I'm averse to work, but I really don't want to spend a lot of time on each character, given the number that are in play.

Now you're making me look for representative images for the Belas. :P BTW, did you find these with a general image search, or did you poke around on the pay sites? I don't mind paying, so long as it's not too much.

YW! I might have a few more to add.

The women and Marcus are pulled from a ordinary search. Free for entertainment purposes. The lizards are old images (I screwed up transferring Neste, so part of her pretty snout is missing). Ocho is from Cer's nation site (I blacked his body out since he's naked there, and has... um, parts swaying.

For a height chart for all PL characters, like the one Swith just plosted. I'm gonna merge hers into mine.

Now I'm thinking of a "group picture" with the shortest characters in front, and successive ranks of taller ones behind them.
