We may not see much of him this week. For those who don't know, we're in the process of purchasing an additional property to perhaps turn into a coffee shop down the line (rent it out for the time being). BUT his official citizenship paperwork is screwed up, and his birthday is listed as the day he filed. 6/3/1016. The seller accepted the offer, and we're under contract, but we have 7 business days to secure a loan. No bank is gonna touch it until the government fixes the error. So, on top of work, and reports, and other stuff, he's dealing with that shit.

We nutty CoOPs can unstick anyone who is stuck IC. Let us know if you're trapped in a scene with one of his characters. He posted for Giovenith and dropped a line in for Slo's Ascalon tour group, but I don't think he did much else on NS yesterday.

Gatehouse peeps... we need to get the retrieval group back to the Building. It's a small area and thus a tight squeeze, which means anyone needing to go to the Gatehouse has to react to everyone there. I'll post for Charu to get her out of the way.

Hmmmm. On pronunciation... we have a lot of odd characters with equally odd names. Cer and I were making light of it this morning, about how what's in print probably doesn't match how it's actually pronounced.

Mepsidadelti Heltamip... mehps-EED-ah-dee-alt-ee heel't-ah-me-ph.

Google translate gives some insight. https://translate.google.com/#hi/en/charumati. If you click on the audio button, you can hear the pronunciation. Same for Ogotimatu (Ogoti) https://translate.google.com/#hi/en/ogotimatu.

Then there's the thade. It doesn't rhyme with wade. Rather, it's tadhe... tawd'hee and rhymes with toddy or naughty. https://translate.google.com/#hi/en/thade

So what about NA's characters?

Or even Giovenith... which I read as geo-VEN-ith, and Cer reads as GEO-vee-neeth.

Spetimus Itum is ee-tum in my mind, rather than eye-tum. I pronounce all of Fvaar's oddly named characters as though I were speaking Swedish.

Sakarias Viitanen... I say Zacharias Vee-tan-in. Cer, being Asian, says sah-ka-ree-as ve-it-an-en.

Maghrl’laundersando’tamil’reumaur... mah'gurl launder sando tah mill ree-ur maur.

Oecammi... the c has a hard k sound, but Cer says it's a soft s. Oh-ee-kah-me vs oh-ee-sah-me, though he ends the word abruptly like many Japanese words, as though someone has come along and suddenly choked him at the end of the vowel sound.

I usually go Euro in my pronunciation if I'm not sure of something (blame high school Spanish class) which sometimes causes weird mixes. Thus Mepsidadelti Heltamip - Mep/si/da/DEL/ti HEL/ta/mip.

'Giovenith' is rendered the same way Swith would.

Septimus is pretty easy. 'Itum' comes out as It/'em.

Se/ka/ri/as (or 'Sekaris' if I'm lazy) Vi/I/ta/nen.

Not going to try.

Oecammi? 'We/ka/mi'.

Chrys is about as funky as it gets for my chars. And no, unless you take the time out to properly imagine (all my Conservators') accents.

Swith's actually perfectly right with how to pronounce things. Sakarias is a derivative of Zacharias, but Cer's pronounciation also works. Just depends if you make the sound a Z or an S

Mag's name is a mess, but yes that's probably the best way to say it

Geo-ven-ith is how I say it, though.

I can't for the life of me try to pronounce Fvaar's chars , I've instead given them nicknames to help me. Prime example is Rmw, I just call her Remy.

For NA's, I pronounce the 1st name just like Cer, but for the 2nd it's Vee-ta-nin, instead of Vee-tan-in

Oecammi... I went with the Dutch long "oe" sound. So for me it would be "oo-kah-mi".
