Working on the skip.

Each player (excluding GMs and CoOPs) will have only two characters to use. Some characters are on stories and do not currently count towards that total; when they return, you might have to choose between which characters to run in order to avoid having more than two.


The questions I have for all of you are:

1) Which characters will you bring to the reboot?

2) There will be a 2-month gap between the Island and the reboot. Your selected Charters would be at the Building for this entire skipped period. What, if anything has each character done to stay busy? The answers can be whatever you think fits best with their personalities. Nila might have taught Ocho to drive a stick shift. Marcus might have finished work on his father's elevator project, possibly using it to avoid Giovenith's wrath. Deuce might have planned next spring's garden. Minerva might have bugged Romy about setting up patrols. Was there a funeral for Torii? Did characters attend? Did they spend the two months taking things easy and waiting for something to do?

2) Giovenith has gone into a brief business of selling handmade jewelry online in order to give herself time to think about the death and Marcus, as well as do something she thinks is adult.

"Please swim with me!" Giovenith begged her friend from the bright blue waters, dressed none-too-riskily in her hot pink aquatard. Even during swimming season she was eternally modest. "The sun made the water so nice, it's not cold at all! You get used to it! Please? Don't be like the Lord of Darkness over there!"

She pointed to Willow who was seated comfortably beneath the shade of a large beach umbrella. He had appropriated a black human's t-shirt, which fit him loosely, and was wearing a pair of those old round black sunglasses from the 50s - 70s while a copy of "On the Road" lay beneath his forelegs. He sipped some ice coffee through a swirly straw.

"Don't listen to her, she's twenty years old and will still try to force you play mermaids," he called, turning a page in his book.

"Mermaids is the best game ever!" Giovenith protested. "We'll find sea shells and sing! Come on, sing with me! 'UP WHERE THEY WALK, UP WHERE THEY RUN, UP WHERE THEY STAY ALL DAY IN THE SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!'" She sang horribly off-key.

2)Romulus will be doing a complete overhaul of the Building's defenses and be expanding its military capabilities, like he should've done already when he first arrived. This will involve him getting everyone up to speed on military drill and weapons training, and get the Building ready to fight more cohesively as a combined military unit, and so as a result, the simulation room will be used heavily during the 2 months skip. He'll also work towards forming a list (that'll be present in the OOC) about the capabilities of every resident in the Building (I'll work on formalizing this list and posting it once I know who's going to be present in the Building after the reboot).

And in the meanwhile, Romy and whoever can help him, will be attempting to acquire more resources and war supplies to help in the Building's efforts during the 2 months. Either by going on quick supply runs (and thus providing additional field training), or by purchasing them from the nearby Cites with whatever funds he can muster (and while trying to buy them on discount).

Nivea would obviously be given more formal combat training from Romy. And she plans to acquire more updated gear (as in better than the iron-aged medieval stuff she came with), out of hopefully the courtesy of the Tech-priests, and by whatever Romy and anyone else can bring in. She'll obviously lend her assistance to anyone in the building, and try to get to know everyone. So generally, just try and be helpful and kind.

For Characters:
I think I might go with the new character (To try him out) and Maghrl. Sterling will be around but parked, so pretty much an NPC. I think that's what cer said? Venla will be around until the end of her story then I'll see what to do with her.

Saki I'll drop, but if the Ops are okay with it he could just be an NPC at the burrows, given his new business there. HE wouldn't go back to his old world.

As for what they're doing. New guy wouldn't have arrived yet. Maghrl's will have been training with his force abilities, namely force healing and empathy(reading emotions/feelings/minds, along with helping his mind trickery). He'll be realizing he needs a proper resource to start training himself and might start planning an expedition back to his home universe to borrow some jedi holocrons to aid in his training and improving skills. Said expedition is another story I'll be doing. I'll see who might want to go on it.

I only regret that I have but two characters to give for my RP.

I'll have to TG you about what Amanda will be doing during the skip; there are several choices. Sandy will be slightly distracted with his own story.

We're working on getting the Raiders on their way. If you want to skip before we're ready, I can post a couple of WIP placeholders for shopping in Alessio and the transition to Alexandria.

Can't go past the 2 limit even if they're parked or NPC I don't think, NA. You gotta decide now who you're bringing. Personally, I think it's smarter to go with Maghrl and Sterling. New characters can be fun, but this is really a transition where you can't afford to be experimental or throw your attention around on whims. Better to go with characters who are already established and that you have an understanding of for the road to come than to waste a spot on a character coming in with no investments and that you might not like as much as your old ones.

Question though: What will become of the cutouts once we skip, and/or what happens to them once their real selves return?

Probably not a good assumption: time doesn't pass consistently in different universes. Characters on missions will re-enter the Galli timestream when the mission ends, whatever time in Galli that is.

Yeah Gio. I need to talk to Cer about it. I won't be playing Sakarias, but he's got a shop so it doesn't make too much sense to just disappear.

Definitely Drova and Yuna. I'm totally fine with focusing on Drova as a single character until Gio's story concludes.

We can say that the Nikanors went home to the Branriech, could type up a whole thing for it.

As for what Drova's been doing? More than likely trying to open up to more people. He sees himself as a failure, but he also wants to meet more people to learn from them, maybe trying to find a sparring partner for swordfighting, or a marksman so he can improve his aim with a rifle. The only thing missing is a cheesy 80's montage song.

EDIT: He's not really looking for friends, but more activities that help get his mind off of all the negativity.

1. I still only have 1 at a moment. Julia Harker, but I have the possibility of making another character, maybe someone who is an alchemist and knows alchemy.

2. Julia would probably began to worked at Ascalon, as hired pilot and/or occasional fixer. Probably involved with fair shares of criminal dealings and underworld businesses, if you don't mind I involved it into Julia's plot.

1) Dora is gone after Torii's funeral. I'm bringing along only Chrys and Cuisine-and-MB.
2) Chrys will have spent time working with whoever doing whatever. Setting up patrols and/or training. Cuisine and MB will have been foraging, and possibly helping Deuce out with the garden(?).
