The New Velociraptor Empire wrote:A Prologue to MadnessHow to Axe off your Villain
"So you thought you could waltz right in during all the commotion and take back our prize?" Neil inquired his longtime foe, Velocidoctor suspended in ropes above a pool of yellow resin. "Well yes in short." The elderly reptile replied coyly. "Well in a few moments I'll be rid of you and there will be nothing left in the way of the glorious Empire. All Hail Lord Pilkington!" Neil saluted as his wife Gretta took this as the cue to play the record of the national anthem. Velocidoctor just chuckled as Neil put his claw on the lever intended to lower the rope.
Neil hesitated, why was his moment of victory being scoffed at? Was there something he did not know? Impossible! Neil knew everything! Including the unknowable and the things he didn't know he knew! That made sense right? No matter, sense was meaningless in the grand scope of his conduct. But what did Velocidoctor know?
"Stop it! I won! So many have tried but I am a mere flick of the claw away from ending your troublesome existence." Neil reaffirmed. Velocidoctor chucked some more. "Oh I just find it funny. You lot just have a need to assert yourselves everywhere you go. You can't appreciate things as they are. You just have to twist everything to your own warped images no matter how small. Pilkington rules only a single star system and you have the need to control every aspect of this apartment. Look at it! A mere room just had to be a lavish mansion with your own lawn. You can't go outside without trying to assume control. And that made it all the more easier to escape." Velocidoctor replied.
Neil thought it over, "But I have you at the end of your literal rope about to be suffocated to death. No allies can help you they are all busy and I've sealed us all in here. How could you possibly escape?" Neil asked. "Simple, you have chroniton regulators in here to control the passage of time in here, the first thing I did before your butler found me was slow you down so I had time to set up what I needed. I borrowed one of your displacement devices and hopped back to the point where you stored the Chesterfield. Disassembling the vault was easy with one of your Timeline-reversal weapons. Then I popped ahead and..." Velocidoctor was cut off by Neil pulling the lever, not wanting to waste any more of his time. Velocidoctor fell and landed on the now hardened resin. "...Eavesdropped on which deathtrap you were going to use." Velocidoctor continued as he took a seat on an invisible sofa. He waved to his past self over by the resin tank controls which he had set to solidify what was supposed to be a liquid until he was submerged in it.
"You still aren't getting out of here. " Neil growled as he drew an overcharged energy pistol. "Neither are you. " Velocidoctor stated as his seat became a visible plaid. Neil fired and the energy beam dissipated off an invisible shield. "A little taste of your own medicine." Velocidoctor smirked as he and his sofa faded out of existence.
Lockpicking Space Fabric
Locked, it would be one way to describe the front door of 8D. Though that would imply that the lock was material and that the door led from one continuous space to another. Trapped in a bubble of their own making was a better way to put it. "Damn him, he took everything we need to open this up." Neil cursed as he tossed another useless tool into the pile of failures next to the blackened crater of a door which merely signified where the exit was supposed to be. "Neil, we can't keep doing this. I know it's fun and we can take these sorts of things but it is unfair to the kids. Why should these meddling vigilantes reduce the freedom of our children? They deserve better." Gretta said as she brought another cart of tools. "But who will do these things if we are not? The world needs things like us to challenge it." Neil said as he burned at the door with a Planck Energizer. "See we can't even think outside the bubble anymore. Time to pass the reigns to someone who can. The world may need us but we have changed too much and our timeline is too complicated to fit on forum post." Gretta urged as she handed Neil a Quantum Awl. "I suppose you're right, but we still need to go somewhere even if it isn't here. There has to be a way, Velocidoctor left so why can't we?" Neil said and drove the Quantum Awl into his skull.
Shades of the Past
Darkness, that is what you see what you aren't looking, that is what you dream when you are unimaginative, that is what you remember when you forget. Neil stood alone in his own mind, but it wasn't his mind, no shifting cityscapes or mad cap adventures here. "This is what I think about when I'm not thinking." Someone who wasn't Neil said. A door, simple enough, it wasn't anything special but it was something. Neil opened the door because he had to. A lounge or at least an idea of a lounge the details are quite hazy and irrelevant. The setting did not matter as much as who was in it. The Clever Fox was the first guest, dressed finely with a grey waistcoat and matching suit, he had been there the longest but left for only the briefest time returning with a bat stew. The Friendly Rabbit was the second guest, with pink fur and a bow tie he never really belonged here. The Mad Human was the third guest, his eyes covered by goggles and wearing a stained labcoat his left arm was sometimes a robotic claw or some other augmentation. He had seen the most of the outside and was the most comfortable. The Cat Swordsman was the 4th guest, dressed like a french Musketeer he enjoyed the first taste of blood. The Deadly Penguin waddled about as the fifth guest, dressed in a top hat and bow tie the waved an umbrella which contained a variety of uses. He had enjoyed most of the childhood adventures.
Now Neil was here, among the nameless, he considered himself lucky to have the widest press and the first proper name. "I think I remember you from so long ago." The Fox said. "Back then Jurrasic Park just came out and you were born from the sandbox in the purest sense." He continued. "Or rather the seed of your conception in the back of the mind. You weren't really here until the Internet came around." The Mad Human said with a wicked grin. "We are all more copied concept than original, but you were the first to be appreciated." The Cat purred. "You really were the first one of us trying to be original, unaware of others having the same idea. Discovery only implanted more copied ideas." The Penguin stated.
The guests faded away leaving only an amorphous form in the pseudo-lounge Its only feature was a single eye or a cracked smile, a bit hard to tell. "I tried moving on, but that is hard, and I don't like to let things go.And so many desperately want things the way they used to be." the shape said. "Gone but not forgotten, here but not tangible, and you cannot go back. You don't fit into neat little boxes. Time to put you to other things as I sort out your newest iteration."
"Well I couldn't quite follow that, but if that means I'm not trapped here then great!" Neil agreed naively and cheerfully.
Meanwhile in the town of Elsewhere
Gretta Garbo pulled the flyer from the bulletin board, "For Rent: Apartment in Timespace Bubble, Plenty of Lab Space for creating Abominations of Science! Comes with Free Intern. Looking for a Von Eldrich, preferably Velociraptor." she read and passed it to her boyfriend Neil Eldritch as she accepted an Animal Ice Cream from him, Chocolate Mole flavoured. "Oh, this sounds perfect for us!" Neil commented as he ate some Lizard Lime. "What if it is a trap?" Gretta asked. "Then we'll kill 'em all together." Neil assured her as a bus leaving the desert town pulled up.

It would be neat if these fans messaged us, though they mostly seem to talk to cer and the OPs lol.

I occasionally hear feedback regarding something I've posted or, if I've been away a while, I might get a TG asking what happened in the IC. The comments I hear, while still applicable to PL, usually have to do with my character and those interacting with him/her. We'll get to chatting and then other stuff will come up. Why does so-and-so have this ability, or how did that-person actually stop whatever was happening sort of thing. I urge people to join, and sometimes they do. It's been a while since I've heard anything. Hmmm...
I used to find comments in forums before the DBZ group came along. They use "PL" for "power level". Now it's harder to find us on an ego search.
Torsi -> <- Swith. I'm not a people. I'm a goofball. That's different!

Ah, that sucks. The search is useful, and not everyone wants to come and talk to us. I mean yeah, we're goofballs. and stuff
Speaking of things, has the tv tropes page had any upkeep at all?

Mon handled the trope page, along with Gio, I think? Anyway, it hasn't been updated in ages as far as I know.
Hmm, maybe I should do a Weebly for PL?
TSU! Jesus, how can I miss an app? YAY TSU! Cer's telecommuting today but I don't know if he'll have time to review it. Offhand, I think it looks good. He may ask you to bump up her ice powers by a point or two, since she's been using the power for ages (and used it during the Fiend battle).
Dance, I am a goofball. Ask anyone!
