Right. Right, put it in the back.

She tucked it away carefully, not wanting to damage a good weapon.

Weapons, she felt, were quite often the closest thing she had to friends. Hence why she called her katanas 'the girls'.

Coilin looked at her for a moment and felt something weird.

He knew she wanted the blade...

And he wanted to give it to her.

This has never happened before... Strange... he thought to himself before turning and watching the goings on of the other people.

If you want it... You can have it. he thought at her. Just... After he leaves. He might get angry if I give it to you immediately.

Wh--you're giving this to me? Really?

Oh...

Thank you...

A little voice in the back of her head was screaming, 'Don't trust him! Don't you know what he wants from you, you stupid girl?'

She ignored it.

James, just now returning from walking around the room looking for enemies. comes back and says "Anything I miss while I was gone? Wait a second, is that a zombie horde? When did that get here? Man, I only left for a few minutes." James clutches his daggers firmly, ready to strike at any moment "Somebody explain why there's a zombie horde in the middle of this room before I start stabbing things. Also, why and how exactly do you have that sword Coilin?. It looks a lot more scary compared to my puny daggers"

Still laying down, she calls Anton. "Anton, I have files on these guys we are fighting. Want to take a look?"

Anton noted with some irritation that Machina had still not woken up. Perhaps the jolt was too low? Or maybe his cells needed to recharge naturally over time? There was still too much that Anton didn't know about this guy, so was impossible to know when, of even if, Machina would awaken. He noticed Marissa had already become bored, and was working on her laptop. Eventually, she called him over to the lying position she was at. Anton looked back at the unconscious boy, and decided he could afford to wait a little longer.

He walked over to her and sat to her side. "Absolutely. Any information I can get is invaluable." As he looked at the computer screen, he was impressed by the amount of data stored in the documents area. A hacker who actively seemed out knowledge? Now that was someone he'd want as an ally.

She had to push herself. She couldn't give up now. "I'll be back soon!" was the sentence she managed to string together before vanishing.

Violet appeared next to Anton, only there was no cloud. Something had gone wrong. Her power had given out half-way throught the trip. She was lucky to be alive. For about a second she felt fine. Then it struck her. Every muscle in her body gave her a sharp pain. Every one of them were to drained to move. All of her strength, both mystic and physical, is gone. Even breathing was a difficult task.

As all of this occurred, she fell to the side and collapsed against Anton. She look ill. She appeared to be near-death. That is the state she was in. Her mind was barely holding onto consciousness.

As he mused these thoughts over, a great weight slammed into his back, knocking him to the ground. Symbiote! Why didn't you warn me of an attack? Anton thought angrily as he struggled to get the body off of him.

Anton, it wasn't an attack. Take a look.

Confused, Anton moved the body until he was sitting up, with the body's head on lap. It wasn't until he turned it over that he realized who it was. "Violet?" She laid there unresponsive, and Anton gave her a little shake. "Violet, wake up." Still nothing. Worry rising in his mind, Anton began to scan her for some signs of life. As far as he could tell, she was alive, yet somehow drained of all vitality. But then, maybe there was something else? He didn't know demon physiology, who knows what the difference is.

Grasping at straws, Anton lay a hand on her head, letting the symbiote seep it's self onto her, making a kind of helmet. It began attempting to heal her, adding his own healing factor with the symbiote's ability to simulate life in an attempt to fuel her cells. He didn't know if it'd work, but he'd try.

So, I suppose I'll just have to deal with it." James sighs before cheerfully asking "So, what exactly are we going to do with this new zombie horde of ours?"

Anton watched as the symbiote did it's best to bring her back. Despite his efforts, it appeared as if he was having no effect. Grimly, he continued, allowing the symbiote to do everything it could to save her, but he had no clue if he was having any effect. All he could do was pray that his creation, this amalgamation of machine and man could somehow give her demonic cells the energy it needed to survive. But even that didn't look good. Helplessly, he watched as he heart beat slower and slower, until finally it ceased.

Anton watched numbly. Surely he hadn't failed, had he? He couldn't have! He was a savior! And yet here in his arms lay a dead girl, the only proof of his efforts to protect anything. Anger began to well up, anger at himself, at his technology, at his lack of ability to fix things.

Suddenly, the heartbeat shot up, and Violet was alive, coughing profusely. As soon as she could stop, she began sobbing, burying her face in her chest. He cradled her head against him, and for once the genius was at a loss. Unsure of what to do next, he simply held her, whispering "It's ok, you're alright. Just breath" over and over. After all, what do you say to someone who died?

The life was fading from her eyes. The pain she was expereincing was unlike anything that she had ever endured in her lifetime. Even death was less painful than continuous suffering. As the minutes rolled by, her breathing slowed until it stopped. Her heart flatlined. It appeared to be hopeless...

Before anyone could react, however, she shot up and began coughing violently as her lungs began to retake in oxygen. If weren't for the symbiote, she wouldn't have made it. The color slowly returned to her skin, but she was still to weak to do much. When her coughing stopped, she leaned her head against his chest and cried. He saved her from her own stupidity. She knew that she was using too much energy, yet she pushed herself beyond her limits.

Anton Greaves

Kractero wrote:Stepping back, Marissa begins to feel useless. Marissa had never really seen someone pass out in front of her, the situation seemed alien to her. She imagined people fainted when she hacked them but never really saw it occur in person... "Sorry that I can't help Anton," Marissa softly says, watching him work. "I am usually useless anyway...I don't understand humans as well as I do machines. I'll probably mess things up if I do, but how can I help?"

Looking up from Violet, he saw the confusion and sadness etched on Marissa's face. Anton put a hand on her shoulder and squeezed gently. "You're not useless. Without you, we won't be able to retake the security systems. Heck, we'd all still be in the assembly room." Anton spoke truly, genuinely. He admired what she could do, and meant it when he complimented her help. The symbiote was good but it was often slow to avoid any failsafes. Against stronger encryptions it would take longer than they had.

Continuing, Anton said "It's ok not to understand people. I barely do. And as for what you could have done, unless you can hack a body into working, there wasn't much you could do. I wasn't sure the symbiote would handle it." He hoped he was getting through to her. He didn't want her to have doubts. That lead to mistakes, and those could not be made at this point. And beside, he'd grown to like working with the hacker. Maybe this is what the symbiote meant by finding friends.

"You really do understand people," Marissa says, regaining composure. "You made me feel better. I can't make people feel better, let alone myself. But I appreciate that. Good luck taking care of Violet. I'll just start discerning possible information about our two friends then, I guess." She drops back to her laptop.

Austin looked around as well.

"What the hell happened? We're free already?" Austin kissed Zuri as other students started flooding out of the area. He didn't really feel like going and looking for the masked guy, Zuri had relaxed him far too much for any drama now.

"Let's find someplace quiet then, perhaps our room?" he smiled, raising an eyebrow.

He took her hand and they went back down the elevator and along the corridor, back to their room. As they both entered, he closed the door behind them, then playfully jumped onto one of the beds, looking back at his girlfriend.

"This seems quiet, don't you think?" He laughed.

"We have no idea if the attackers are still here and you want to go into our room?" Zuri asked when Austin said he wanted to go to their room. "No objections from my side." She let him guide her to their room, where he closed the door and threw himself onto one of the beds. "I have a feeling it won't stay very quiet in here for long." She said before laying down on top of Austin. She let one hand slide under his cloths and over his scaly chest before kissing him. "Lets hope nobody interrupts us this time.

Austin looked up at her, slightly nervous this time, after the commotion that's been going on in the academy lately.

"I thought I'd be coming here to learn something, I never thought I'd end up with a girlfriend!" he laughed, kissing her. "You are perfect," he whispered. "There is nothing I would change about today."

Austin felt the shivers run through his spine every time she kissed him or ran her hand along his scaly chest, and equally whenever he did the same back to her. He could feel her body on top of his, her legs on his and their faces close together. Austin put his arm around her back as he kissed her. His other hand ran through her hair and around the back of her neck. They both lay there kissing for around 10 minutes. Only silence could draw them apart, as they didn't know what was happening upstairs, back through the elevator. But Austin had seen other students and hoped that they'd be going off to do their own thing anyway. Austin had been worried about getting caught with Zuri all day.

He sat up with his legs on the bed, shaking the tingles off. He shivered as Zuri put her hands on him, Austin had become so nervous about everything. He decided to mentally block the fear and stop focusing on himself, so he shuffled to Zuri and kissed her again. It had seemed that both of them had become less nervous over the course of the day, and forgotten why they were even here in the first place. He lay on his back below Zuri as she went down to kiss him again. Even though Austin felt like something was happening upstairs with the masked guy and stuff, he wanted to put his attention more on Zuri, as she was his priority over anything right now, especially the academy.

Once they were done, he stood up beside the bed and started speaking to Zuri.

"Do you think we should go back up now? Or stay down here in our room for a bit longer? I mean, I'm fine with either, but something might be happening up there, and we might need to go do something." Austin truly wanted to stay with her, he knew they wouldn't be separated unless a mission required them to be. So either decision was a good one for him.

Machina shot up with a jolt. "Don't let them take me back!" He screamed rocking on his heels. "they'll never take me back, I won't let them." He saw some more people in the room than there were when he passed out. "Why are you here?!" He asked while readying his lightning. His vision still wasn't quite clear.

"You know what? Screw logic, nothing makes sense anymore. This day has been filled with more absurd things in less than 24 hours than I've seen in my whole life. So, I suppose I'll just have to deal with it." James sighs before cheerfully asking "So, what exactly are we going to do with this new zombie horde of ours?"

He sees Violet faint and almost decides to go and help but Anton goes instead and James tries to forget about it, reasoning that he probably couldn't help anyway, and that Anton could probably deal with it by himself. But, it didn't really help. James frowns, for just a slight instant before returning to whatever he was doing before, with no sign of any changes.

Coilin actually laughed, a short, barking laugh that sounded almost too harsh to carry any humor. He patted James's shoulder. "That sentence, right there, made my day, James. Thank you so much." he said, smiling.

Machina appeared to have been rather ignored: the urgency out of his attention being taken away by the sudden appearance of Violet. He didn't blame them: Violet looked better any day, very good indeed. But Karl needed allies, and it was generally seen as a good idea if you wanted those to be nice.

And so, he reacted to Machina's insane screaming the way any sane man wouldn't: he crouched down beside him.
"Noone's going to be taking you anywhere," he said in his best soothing voice. "You're perfectly safe. No need to scream..."

Marissa returns to her laptop's location, laying down at the screen. She starts to analyze the various jumbled information located within the academy's text file. Records of tests, dialogue, reactions, experiments... She wondered how long it would be before they start experimenting on them...probably shouldn't think about that too hard. Guess I should just copy useful things? She begins to copy and paste the information that would help them against X and Milo, putting them inside a text document. It still wasn't as organized as she wished, but it was readable. Leaning upwards, she looks around the room, noticing a few new visitors. A zombie horde, probably from that necromancer boy, she found a file on him in the FSS security information. The disabled mind-reader, Coilin, talking to Raven. There was James there as well. She waves at him, before leaning against the wall, rubbing her eyes. How long was this going to take...

"Noone's trying to hurt you though," Karl explained, only half surprised that he could touch Machina's mind, it being electricity, with his own. It seemed...somehow tortured, like a machine with a few parts long, long past their due retirement. He tried to calm it with his own placid one as he did so...subtly so as to attempt to avoid angering him.
All the while, he sent a tendril out to Marissa's computer: a small chat window appearing in the bottom lefthand corner.
"They sure like collecting data," it said. "They've rather less than they started with on me." He'd removed a good chunk of it. "Found anything useful?" his message concluded with his first name, above a strange symbol.
It was the symbol that he'd used whenever he'd hacked a computer system that people thought couldn't be hacked. Staff would come in one morning to find a huge horribly blue eye with no visible boundary between itself and the ever-changing hygroglyphs that circled around it. It was famous: it'd been on the news, always under numbers of currency lost: big numbers.

"No, don't leave," Honor started to say, but Violet disappeared anyway, leaving her alone in the dark. And she heard footsteps approaching, as X and Milo appeared near the stop of the stairwell. "Get away," she warned, raising the railgun and hoping they didn't know it wasn't loaded. "Don't come any closer!"

"What do we do?" Milo asked X, speaking through the private communications feed in their helmets.

"The foolish girl doesn't know what's best for her. Put a couple rounds in her head, it should put her out long enough to you to get to the hangar at least," X commanded, and Milo nodded, firing a few Uzi shots at Honor that hit their mark.

Honor collapsed and Milo picked up her body, throwing her over his shoulder. "We split up now," X ordered. "You take her towards the hangar, I find IN-3, and I'll see if I can get Gabriel also on our way to you. Understood?"

"Yes," Milo nodded, leaving as X switched the power back on and picked up the railgun that Honor had been carrying. The lights didn't just go back on, the computer system shut down and entered a full reset, purging itself of outside factors.

When the server rooms, on the other side of the base, awoke again, they didn't just wake up the compute mainframe, they awoke a new entity. Boy, it's good to be alive again... But what's this? Intruders in the base? Time to take back our Stronghold...

Coilin immediately stopped talking and looked around. "Sh*te. They got Honor." he said, and then put a finger to his temple.

Time to have a little... fun. he thought, before focusing on assaulting Milo's head with images, sounds, thoughts, and memories.
