This entire time I've just been dodging him and I felt that I had to do something to form a confrontation. Either way, the timeskip cut off the sim and I always had to the option to runaway.

There's a couple large rooms like the planning room when it's not in use, and the cafeteria room that everyone eats in. Other than that there's mostly corridors and smaller rooms, the place is designed similarly to the bases in XCOM.
