Umm, would Upgrade slowly taking over the reactor be bad? I mean its only for 10 mnutes, plus it also depends on the security measures it has that slows upgrade down. Yes upgrade will eventually control all of it, that's what he does takes control of tech stuff, upgrades them and uses them to his advantage until the omnitrix tmes out.

I sort of hinted towards his class throughout the rp. At several points, he entered a "Beserk mode" where he just went nuts on a bunch of enemies. As for his powers, James could use his anger to give him a power boost, channel his anger into frickin' sword beams, and go beserk.

Fun fact, I did at some point plan on having James become a villain (basically being the one in Kefka's place), if his views ever diverged from Conundrums to the point that he directly opposed him.
