Hmm, I suppose if folks forgot how to make bronze, that might explain it being shitty and this roughly equivalent to iron.

My point was just that generalized cast iron doesn't have good weapon qualities, compared to bronze; it is both more brittle, has less tensile strength, and is less dense than tin-bronze, while requiring hotter fires to refine and being probe to corrosion. Properly made bronze kit is better than properly made iron kit.
