OOC

*THIRD OF OCTOBER, YEAR 2929, 723 YEARS SINCE FLIGHT FROM EARTH, ACTIVATING AWAKENING PROTOCOL* Those are the words that go across my eyes as the pod wakes me up once again. *AWAKENING COMPLETE WELCOME CAPTAIN ANSELM OLDEREN*

"Another year gone by and another day of this cycle." I mutter to myself and I climb out of my pod and stretch. "I suppose I should go to today's work." Something feels off though. Wait... October 3rd... that is too early by about a week." I mutter "What is going..." The ship shakes with an explosion. "What in the name of humanity!" Another explosion cuts me off and sends me staggering so after I steady myself I run to the upper part of the bridge.

"Computer! Status of structural integrity of the ship!" I yell running up to the main control console on the ship.

*DECKS 17, 15, AND 11 HAVE ALL TAKEN MASSIVE DAMAGE. AIRLOCKS CLOSED ON THOSE DECKS. MINOR DAMAGE TO SEVERAL OTHER DECKS*

I stare out the window into space and I see what is going on all to clearly. "They have found us..." I mutter to myself. "After all these years have we finally been cornered? No... it cannot end here. It cannot ever end. Humanity has placed far too much trust in the Comperior, in me, to allow it to fail here. We need to survive and win." I immediately enter my codes into the computer. "Transfer all control over the ship to this terminal at once. I will attempt to guide the ship to safety from here." I start hammering away furiously at the keys.

*ACKNOWLEDGED*

"Captain..."

"I'm going to need to bring the main guns to bear. We need as much suppressing fire as we can get." I mutter entering commands into the console.

"Captain..."

"I'm going to need to increase power to engines as well so we can make a good getaway. We can't be stopped. Not here. Not after so long."

"Captain!" I hear someone scream in my ears and I turn around and see a young woman and several other people, six in total looking at me in bewilderment.

"Other people...?" I ask in wonder and place my hands on the woman's shoulders and touch her face. "You are real...?" I ask being completely stunned by this development.

"Captain?" She asks shocked.

I shake my head slightly. "Sorry Lieutenent. It has just been so long since I have spoken to another person that I am simply shocked."

"Understood sir. Though we have an emergency situation we need to clear up immediately."

"Right well." I look at her name tag. "Lieutenent Emilia Van Straten, have the bridge crew take the guns and see what you can do to help drive them off. We need to bring the situation under control and get away. We cannot allow for the hope of humanity to be lost."

"Yes sir!" She turns to the others. "You heard the man! We need to secure this ship at all costs. No way we letting these aliens take it from us."

The bridge crew goes to work and I, not wanting to say it out loud, type into the database. Computer, status of Cyropods on the ship.

Pods are in awakening process. Crew being slowly awakened. Letter has been sent to everyone who has awakened.

I click my tongue in annoyance, that letter will be the death of us if everything is known about it. I enter my codes into the mainframe. Stop all pod awakenings.

Negative on complete stop. Awakening will be delayed for so only a few members of the crew awaken each month. Is this acceptable?

Yes. Carry it out. Status of Pod 52093?

Pod 52093 has been awakened. I sigh. So she is up too.

I pick up the intercom for the ship. "Attention all crew members this is the Captain. Everyone who is on combat duty or feels like they can help report to your stations. Anyone who feels like they cannot assist with defensive operations report to the safe zones on deck 27. Security please ensure things proceed in a calm and orderly manner. All officers I am giving you freedom of action to do as you must for the good of the ship. Report to where you think is best or meet me up on the bridge, we must regain control of this situation at all costs. Engineers and pilots head down to the hanger and put the fighters and mechs into launch position. Remember you need to clear the hanger before launching since those require opening the airlocks to launch them out. Everyone do as you think is best for the Comperior and we will make it. Good luck and may God save us all for the good of humanity." With a few more keystrokes I return all functions to their appropriate areas of the ship.

Silence, the cold, and groaning? But by whom.... Then Kerian remembered and hastened his exit from the pod and looked around slowly, letting the message he could barely hear on the intercom wash over him before looking around and seeing a few more either befuddled or still sleeping engineers extracting themselves from or laying in the pods. Clearing his throat Kerian yelled "Alright, everyone who cant pilot a mech start on deck repairs or help the sleepy heads out of their pods and set them to work. Get further instructions when the Chief gives em to ya." Dispersing the small group of engineers with a wave of his hand, Kerian made his way for the express elevator and was met with a small group of people bickering about which level to go to responded by pushing them inside and thumbing the button for deck 4. Suddenly patting his tactical gear down, Kerian found and attached the small holo display to his wrist and flipped through it, reading the small message and tapped the call button "Captain, this is 2nd Engineer Wolk, I've roused the repair teams and they should be on their way to the damaged decks. I've also got around 6 engineers here on the way to deck 4 I think most of them are fighter pilots but I've got myself a mech, that's about- Oh wait, the Chief Engineer's pod is open but she's out cold as of now, Signing off." Stepping out in front of the crowd Kerian made his way for the mech bay where he made his way to a towering mech that stood away from the others and wielded a large hammer instead of the normal axe and grasped a tower of metal in its other hand that acts as a huge shield. Kerian muttered to himself with a smile as he entered the large tower of metal "I love playing the tank..." before making the first step that wracked the hangar with its echos, a larger scaled recreation of a normal mech's footsteps. Taking up the shield and the hammer, Kerian stepped to the large airlock and radioed in to the other pilots "This is Wolk and I'm your tank today, how many of you guys like RPGs?"

Drachgral a military commander of the past and one of the few men that had been awakened from his pods sleep mod dropped down in his military uniform. Old Russian colors which had no meaning in this new day, he stepped out and when he heard the sirens almost against human instinct he was up in arms and rushing to his designated post. "So they found us this is just great...this is General Drachgral Black previous Russian Special Operation in Moscow during its siege someone give me a status update and what it is where looking at these bastards are going to want us deader then a mans spirit in Siberia." he rushed his way to the mech bay to try and help out how he could, while he didn't have experience with piloting a mech he knew how they worked and how he could outfit them. "This is just great...everyone is still waking up and where under full attack by God knows what..." before he could make it to the hangerbay he found what looked like the chief engineer out like a light bulb.

"Alright nap time is over lets get moving splash some water on there faces and lets get going.." he reached instinctively for his old Markov pistol to find it still in his holster. He gave a sigh of relief and checked the clip to find it full, one entire clip against whatever the hell they where fighting now this couldn't be worse but what the hell this was a war and they had to make due with whatever they had left. This pistol was one of the only things he had left of his old world, this and a sniper rifle which had saved his life against the invaders. it was in the armory however and he didn't have time to get it not that it would do much good in this situation after all. "Im still waiting for that damn status report" he said angrily in his usual dark tone.

He helped what people he could to a safe place and then those who needed to get to work he helped set into the right course before getting to the hanger himself. He looked around and found the old mech he had marked for himself to maintain, still in great condition and ready to go, all it needed was a pilot which sadly Drachgral wasn't at least not yet. "Alright anyone who knows what there doing get in your mechs we need to protect this ship damn it...I knew we needed more weapons on this damn thing..." if Drachgral had his way they probably wouldn't have made it out at all, with dwindling resources they where lucky to have a ship at all he wanted to have an armed warship carry everyone but in the end there wasn't time. Hell even the mechs weren't meant for this kind of space combat...however he would have to make due with what he was given....they all would.

A strange feeling washed over Dr. Kurt Buckley, rousing him from the deep, dreamless sleep that accompanied cryo-stasis. His senses slowly began to focus, starting with sight. The dull grey of the wall across from him was occasionally disrupted by the flashing red glare of an emergency light. What... is this? His brain struggled, attempting to make sense in the midst of disorientation. Alarm bells went off in his subconscious. But why?

Blurry figures darted across his field of view. Whatever was happening, it must be important. Buckley's vision became more clear, and as the seal on his pod broke, the sounds echoing through the halls came crashing down onto his head: the sirens, the voices, the hissing of the cryo-pods, the captain's message over the intercom... The captain... Buckley thought. The ship! The pieces started to come together in his mind. The door on the cryo-pod was fully opened now, and a computerized voice began to instruct him on the awakening procedure, before Captain Olderen's message interrupted it once more.

Code: Select all
Attention all crew members...

Buckley tried to pry himself from the pod but his motor-skills were still hindered from the cryo-stasis.

Code: Select all
... report to your stations.

Stations... Everything clicked. He was a doctor. A surgeon, to be specific. And a high-ranking one on the staff of this ship, no less. A combination of medical instincts and his military officer instincts welled up inside of him. Adrenaline took over; Buckley managed to climb from the cryo-pod. His eyes focused on the computer terminal next to the pod. The display read, among other things, almost 264,000 days in cryo-stasis. Initially the number didn't register. Must be, a mistake? Buckley thought as he recovered his doctor getup from a nearby locker. No matter, he thought as he made his way to the lift.

------------------------------------------------------

The lift arrived at Level 26: The Medical Bay. As the door opened, a hectic scene revealed himself to Dr. Buckley. A skeleton crew of medical personnel, who themselves were recently unfrozen, attempted to deal with a deluge of injuries. A nurse stood near the lift, performing triage on the injured who managed to make their way to the medical facility. She looked up and down Buckley for apparent injury before realizing the rank insignia on his outfit. "Doctor!" she exclaimed. "Sir."

Buckley approached her. "Who's in charge here?" he asked tersely.

"Doctor Wallace, sir," she answered, "in the operating room."

Buckley nodded. Lieutenant Wallace, he thought, recalling a meeting before the freeze. He clutched a surgical mask over his face and entered the OR. "Doctor Wallace," he said to the flustered man who was standing over one operation, while verbally walking a nurse through a surgical procedure on a whole other patient.

Wallace's tired eyes lit up at the sight of another doctor. "Major Buckley!" he exclaimed in relief. "You're in charge," Wallace said, eager to shed the stress of command.

Buckley sidled up to the nurse, navigating the cluttered OR. "I'll take over this," he said, tying the mask to his face before taking the surgical tools from her. He looked up at Wallace, "are there any other doctors?"

Wallace nodded, "uh huh, one, in the safe zone, and a couple nurses, with the civilians."

"Alright," Buckley answered. "We need to speed this up," he said, gesturing outside where more injuries waited for them. "Work fast, don't worry about precision, we just need to keep them alive for now. We can do the detailing later."

"Right. Nurse, close for me," Wallace said before making his way to an open table. "Next patient!" he shouted through the doorway. The two doctors continued to chip away at the accumulating wounded, while nurses treated the lesser injuries.

"Stupid people who designed those stupid cyropods." Lanya cursed as she stumbled down the hallway, headed for the lifts so she could get to the Hangar. Swearing as she almost tripped over her own feet again, Lanya continued to curse not just the designers of the cyropods but anyone who was remotely involved in making sure she was in one.

The problem came about as, for reasons Lanya was unsure of at the moment, whilst she as a human was safely bought back to the world of the living, her cybernetic implants seemed to have still been frozen when the captains commands came through. And rather than stand about helplessly as her implants began to defrost and work again she had decided to try and make her way to the hangar, sensing her surroundings mainly by touch as she kept her left hand to a wall until one of her eyes had decided to work.
Since then she'd been able to call up the schematics for the ship and realized she'd headed in the wrong direction. Now headed the right way she lacked depth perception as her right eye appeared to be non-functional at the moment, a problem she'd fix as soon as possible.

Reaching the lift, Lanya hit the button for it and decided to rest against a nearby wall whilst it came. Her right arm, whilst functional didn't feel quite right, she supposed it was due to its inactivity, not that it mattered at the moment, if she needed to she could either try to fix it herself or see if the doctors aboard the ship knew enough about cybernetics to give it a go, and the phantom pain she got where her skin met metal just above her elbow was currently in effect. Smiling to herself as the lift came in she stumbled into it, hitting the right button as her other eye finally decided to catch up with the rest of her body. She was headed to the hangar now, hopefully she'd meet her crew and get on with what she needed to do to ensure the safety of the Comperior.

Arthur was dreaming soundly inside his cryopode. For the last 700 years he'd been dreaming, on and off, of life before. Arty walked into the arcade and sat down at one of the racing games. It was an hour before opening time and for some reason all the games were free. His Hawaiian themed shirt, his bathing suit, and his sandles gave hint to the relaxed attitude he'd maintained during the 700 years in stasis. He sat down at the game, marked Need for speed: Alien addition. He selected a car and began. A steady beat began to sound in the background. It wasn't long before he pulled ahead from a combination of great driving, dream luck, and smart use of weaponry to destroy the competition. The best kept getting louder. Art got off the racing game and approached a seperate game entitled house of the dead: Alien addition. For some reason many games were alien themed in this particular arcade. The game began and an intro scene played. As he focused on that, a mystery man walked through the doors of the otherwise empty arcade. Headshot after headshot was made as Arthur shot at the zombies inhabiting the alien craft that was identical to the ship he was on in real life. He walked through the halls shooting zombies and looking at the almost recognizable people in the stasis pods around him. The mystery man spoke up after clearing his throat "nice shooting" "thanks" Art stated slightly worried as he had thought he was alone. "What are you doing here soldier?" Art stuttered as he couldn't figure out a good reason. "I'll tell you what you are doing master corporal, your doing jack when you should be in formation. Now go form up on the parade square" Art was confused, "but cadets isn't till tomorrow DSM Dornan". "Wake up Duckworth, where do you think we are?" Duckworth blinked and suddenly was no longer in the arcade and was now on the parade square. He was standing in his pickel suit ready for inspection and the drill sergeant was looking at him. "I asked you a question master corporal". Duckworth was embarrassed. "The parade square sir". The DSM nodded. The armoury siren started to sound but no one else seemed to hear it. "You need to wake up Master corporal". Art was confused. "Pardon sir". "I said wake up!" The DSM yelled at him and frightened him a little. He closed his eyes as if to blink. When his eyes opened he was awake staring in front of him at a deserted floor except for the other passengers in stasis.
______________

Art stretched in his pod, feeling refreshed after such a long nap. A holographic letter appeared in front of him. It sounded like he was to report to his station, though he wasn't assigned one. "I suppose I'll go to the entertainment deck" he resolved, although there weren't many good options given his limited skill set in this situation, he was concerned about his ability to help. He climbed out of his pod, grasped his cane, dusted the fronts from his top hat, and strolled to the entertainment wing.

Mavrus Skotadius

Blackness. All of it. Years and years of murky blackness, with no other dreams besides it. There are screams, shouts, cries. Yet those are the only things that can penetrate the darkness. Only laughter and screams can be heard in his nightmare.

As his pod opened, Mavrus stretched his body while looking around his surroundings. A lot of the pods are now opened and most of their occupants are now awake. He just stared at them and he was snapped out of his daze by the Captain's orders. He also stared at the speakers for awhile and he took a weird looking staff that was emblemed in his cyropod. As he grabbed it, the triangle tip glowed purple and he strode off to Deck 26 where he had a glimpse of the medical crew. All of them are running around and are terribly busy albeit some panicking. He continued to the research center and he stretched the staff to the recognition machine, laser emiting from the wide tip. The doors opened and revealed few of his researchers tapping on machines and checking monitors with complex images and equations.

"Status report." He said in a voice devoid of emotion as he went to the center of the room and plunged the staff into a keyhole of some sort. "17, 11, and 15 has been severely damaged sir! An unknown assailant or force has attacked the ship!" This one's a young female, wearing a lab coat like everyone else. "Has the Captain took control of the ship?" The woman in coat shook her head. "He has returned it to it's normal functions as you came in sir." Mavrus pushed a button and a myriad of screens floated in front of him. "Start analyzing the damage and periodically send reports to the Engineering." He tapped a few more keys to connect to the Captain. "This is Doctor Mavrus Skotadius reporting for duty. Requesting permission for lockdown in damaged areas to prevent crew casualties and injuries and for further analyzation."

Captain Olderen

I run a quick scan. It seems like the ship decided to prioritize awakening the officers and then started awakening people randomly. With that communications started flooding in. "Captain, this is 2nd Engineer Wolk, I've roused the repair teams and they should be on their way to the damaged decks. I've also got around 6 engineers here on the way to deck 4 I think most of them are fighter pilots but I've got myself a mech, that's about- Oh wait, the Chief Engineer's pod is open but she's out cold as of now, Signing off."

"2nd Engineer Wolk this is the Captain. Good work. Do what you can from your level, you have permission to launch what you need to fight as soon as you can launch. We will need all the manpower we can muster if we are to make it through this."

After that another message comes in, it seems to be a status request from the head of security. I will deal with it after this message that just came in. "This is Doctor Mavrus Skotadius reporting for duty. Requesting permission for lockdown in damaged areas to prevent crew casualties and injuries and for further analyzation."

"Doctor Skotadius, I'm afraid compliance with that request will be difficult as what engineers we do have are heading either to the damaged areas or to the hanger. Work with them as best you can in order to help minimize casualties I will send out an announcement to the ship in order to help keep the rest of the crew away." I send as a reply. I pick up the intercom. "Attention all crew members, parts of decks 17, 11, and 15 have been compromised. For your own safety please avoid these areas unless you are part of engineering. Thank you." I hang up. "Now to inform the head of security." I immediately send a message to him.

"General Black this is the Captain, here is the status report you requested. Decks 17, 11, and 15 have taken massive damage but have been successfully locked down. 100 members of the crew were awakened. As for what we are dealing with lets just say they found us. As far as my assessments, and what scanners we have functioning tell me, we are dealing with approximately 32 of their ships that we classified as fighters and a five of the ones we classified as bombers." I stop as an explosion happens. "Scratch that. 31 of the ships we classified as fighters. That is about the summation."

"Excellent shot! Keep shooting and we will make it through this yet!" I yell at the very meager crew on the bridge manning the guns to the best of their abilities. "Engineering this is the Captain all mechs and fighters that can be piloted are cleared to launch. I repeat they are clear to launch as soon as the hanger is empty. good hunting for Earth!"

"Noted." He said before the Captain cut off their connection. He continued on punching and tapping keys on the transparent floating screens in front of him and a scale of the ship came to view. The damaged sectors are glowing red, with summarizations of the damage. He tapped a few more and it showed the locations of the aforementioned engineers. He then connected to the speajers of the vicinity. "This is Doctor Skotadius. I am requesting you to send data to the research center as you survey the area. Surveillance has been down in those parts you are heading to. Perhaps take some samples of unidentified substances that you can find, it might be an outstanding specimen or a deadly virus. Be reminded to wear your safety suits, exposure is not a joke." He cut off the connection and the screens vanished as he pulled the staff from the central control of the research center. "All right, maintain communications with the Engineering department. If you receive any major information, call my attention. I will be at my office." The researchers nodded as the Chief walked away to the farthest side of the room, stretching the staff to the recognition machine which the staff launched lasers at. The door opened and it closed as soon as the doctor came in, shutting himself from the worl--- eh --- ship.

"If they found us then they might have Somthing on there ships we can use...id like to request the incapacitation of the vessels rather then there destruction, we could use the materials and whatever they have onboard I'm sure our scientist would be more then happy with whatever we could bring back. I move for a capture on whatever we can I don't think we are in much of a situation not to, if they have found us they are likely to have sent out our location there guns would be very useful on our own craft that and there power cores could be rigged to help supply them and give our ship a little extra boost."

He looked through the list of all the weapons currently onboard and wished he had some type of emp weapon to use against the machines, "captain can you tell me if any of the egg heads whipped up an emp blast before we got put on ice?" He asked with full seriousness monitoring the battle as he tried to help provide firing solutions for what guns they had through the hanger.

The red glow illuminated the passageways of the ancient ship like a glowing fire that have warmth to all that surrounded it. Duckworth came to a full stop as a disembodied voice rang through the halls, emanating from the mesh covered speakers requesting, nay, ordering all hands to their stations or to safety. It didn't take long for Duckworth to piece together the voluntold nature of the captains non-optional request and quickly determined to change course to the bridge.
The well dressed teenager made his way to the bridge with haste, stopping only for a drink of 700 year old recycled water from the pristine water fountain so often that if it had been alcohol he would have been rendered into a drunken stupor. It was fortunately unfortunate that the water fountains weren't working as the rust could've killed him if his wait for the water bottle to defrost didn't do that first.

He soon arrived at the bridge. His oxfords having become thoughly soaked by the defrosting morning coat that had been dropping and drying out but was fine now. Arty walked up to a gaggle of officers and other awakened crew, thougholly standing out like a cow in a Van Gogh painting unlike the gentleman beside him who was more like a nut in a tool box.

Having reached his destination the young teen decided that adopting the cadet motto, hurry up and wait, was the best option to do at this time and wait for further instructions is exactly what he did.

"If they found us then they might have Somthing on there ships we can use...id like to request the incapacitation of the vessels rather then there destruction, we could use the materials and whatever they have onboard I'm sure our scientist would be more then happy with whatever we could bring back. I move for a capture on whatever we can I don't think we are in much of a situation not to, if they have found us they are likely to have sent out our location there guns would be very useful on our own craft that and there power cores could be rigged to help supply them and give our ship a little extra boost. Captain can you tell me if any of the egg heads whipped up an emp blast before we got put on ice?"

"EMP?" I ask going over the ships functions and inventories I have memorized. "We have probably 2 dozen EMP rockets located on Deck 4. Will those work? We can load a couple onto a fighter and send it out to shoot. Their homing systems should still work too. As for an EMP blast I don't know how well it would work out in space but we due have a back up system that should be able to fire twice and that's it. But I give it a fairly good chance they could fry the systems of any ship besides out own beyond recovery. Plus since we have launched fighters and mechs that will most likely kill our pilots. For now we will use the rockets to try to capture a few. So permission granted for capture attempt. I am heading down to the hanger so make sure they are loaded onto a fighter." As soon as I hang up I see someone who isn't part of the bridge crew. "You up here to help? Good we need it. Lieutenent Van Straten get him on one of the guns I need to get to the hanger."

"Yes sir." She replies and I leave but I can hear her give a brief explanation. "And that is how you shoot the guns." She concludes talking as quickly as she can. "Just point and shoot."

Spurring his mech out of the airlock and activating its maglocks to prevent himself from floating off into space, Kerian made his way across the hull of the ship towards the damaged sections with two other mechs on his trail. As he aproached the damage his mouth fell open, not at the corpses or the atmosphere that was being vented but what had caused the damage, an enemy ship had gutted itself and the Comperior, the two twisted planes of hull starkly contrasted in color, making the alien ship easily visible. Scanning the horizon for any other ships Kerian's hud flashed with an energy reading that was twice as large as the ship embedded in the hull, the class Corvette came to mind when looking at the sleek design but the visible gashes and the large cloud of debris told of what had happened, an accident at ridiculous speed. Opening a channel between himself and the other officers of the ship, Kerian reported with an awe filled voice "Wolk here, you all wont believe this but we've taken on a little extra, an alien extra. A smaller ship slammed into us and gutted those decks pretty badly, I see one other enemy ship but it looks like there was another, at least the debris suggests it. We might want to get to that larger one for materials and hope whatever caused the others to crap out wont get us too, I think it was some sort of FTL accident, some miscalculation? Whatever it was, there's only one real threat to worry about, the debris might cause some more minor damage later but I think we're in the clear asides the bombers and fighters, don't think we'll get anything useful out of the Corvette though, things dead in the water. I don't think any of us mind though, I know I sure as hell don't." Walking up to survey the damage more closely Kerian radioed a few engineers in EVA suits he saw already patching deck 15 up, and told them to make sure to secure the debris, citing that it might be useful.

The lift ride had been kind to Lanya, and it's semi-privacy gave her the time to compose herself and optimize her cybernetics. Reaching the hangar Lanya walked a lot more confidently out of the lift than she did into it.

Looking around the hangar, Lanya observed the different areas for a few seconds each, her eyes taking pictures that she could study later. The hangar itself was almost completely empty, everyone who would be under her command either out in space in mechs and fighters, or running around the ship repairing things. Looking at one of the fighters she could theoretically fly, even if this was the first time she'd seen one in real life, Lanya decided to instead try and organize the repair teams instead. Deciding it was probably a good idea to let the captain know she was around, Lanya patched her first call through to him as she headed towards the computer systems in the hangar, hoping to be able to get a better picture from there.

"Captain, this is Chief Engineer McFadden reporting. Err... Second Engineer Wolk has taken a.. couple of mechs with him to look at the exterior damage and we have around 4 or 5 fighters in space as of now. I'll be on Deck 4 commanding the repair teams if you need anything, McFadden out."

"Second Engineer Wolk, this is Chief Engineer McFadden. I'm giving you command of all the fighters we have out in space at the moment, if you and your mechs see a firing opportunity take it, likewise if you see an opportunity the fighters can take, let them know ASAP. McFadden out."

"Calling all repair teams, this is Chief Engineer McFadden. I'm marking all major damages on your HUD's now, get those done ASAP then focus on the more minor repairs. If you come across a problem then contact the nearest repair team, and if they can't help, me and we'll get things worked out. McFadden out."

Tapping away at the computer system she was standing at, Lanya relaxed into her role, watching with a little smile on her face as things started to become a bit more like normal, or rather, what she assumed would become normal for life on this ship.

Gabriel McKnight - Deck 26
He awoke - gasping for air, in a panic-like state as his cryo pod opened up. Collapsing onto the ground once it completely opened up, breathing heavily. Greedily gulping down air as if he had just almost drowned. Shortly after this..he vomited - mostly just mucus-like liquid all over the floor. His whole world was spinning, slower than his actual movements. Or was he slower than the world? He didn't know. He couldn't think straight. What..where am.. He'd think to himself in a panic - scrambling to his feet, as he attempted to get a feel for his surroundings. He still couldn't stand up quite right - using the wall as leverage to hoist himself up on his feet.
The war..the enemy..earth. His thoughts were all over the place - it was as if he was in some sort of waking nightmare. He heard a voice echoing in his head.

Attention all crew members, report to your stations..

Okay. Maybe it wasn't in his head. He crawled along the wall, weakly still trying to get his bearings. Entirely confused on his location and and what exactly was going on. He gently grasped a corner, turning into it as he walked into what seemed like a med-bay. He looked about it - still struggling to see the world clearly. Everything in his vision moving slowly side to side or up and down. He collapsed back on one knee when he entered the med-bay. Making an audible 'oomf' as he tried to collect himself.

Mr.black smiled when he was given permission for his little capture mission, "Alright this is a message to all pilots, we are going to bring back whatever we can intact, that means if you can help it capture the fighters don't destroy them. Whoever can bring them back will be doing a great service to humanity. There is no telling how there technology could have advanced while we humans slumbered looking for a place to call our new home. This is an oppertunity we cannot afford to pass up."

Drachgral was all to serious, if they where going to have an advantage they needed it now. If they could get there technology from the enemy they would be able to see as to what they have been up to in the 700 or so years that they have been in hibernation. With all that time and still chasing them there's no telling what they had to have come up with, it was unsettling to think about. Never the less the risk had to be taken even if it was going to coast us a few mechs. The payout would be to great and mr.black was willing to roll the dice in this case.

"Let's get this done so we can get the hell out of here already, we stay here to long and we are going to be trampled humanity will not die this day." He looked around the hangar a second feeling a bit like he was being watched but shrugged it off he was probably just feeling anxious about the situation going on right now. Not even a coffee before there getting shot at.

"NEXT!" Dr. Buckley shouted as he finished stitching the patient at the table in front of him closed.

The nurse in med-bay entryway answered back, "That's all, doctor!"

Buckley hesitated, letting out a sigh that was half relief and half uncertain. If they were under attack, surely there would be more casualties? He stripped the surgical gloves from his hands and dropped them on the OR floor as Dr. Wallace approached him with a handshake. "We made it," Wallace said with a fatigued grin.

Buckley nodded, "for now." He had no idea how he made it through that surgical session with minimal issues, seeing as he was still dealing with some lingering symptoms of the cryo-freezing. Surgery, just like riding a bike, he thought, sardonically. Fortunately, most of the crew that they operated on were injured with fairly straightforward lacerations and shrapnel wounds.

"Everything's under control here," Buckley said to Wallace. "I'm going to make my way to the safe zone, see if they need any more help there." He pulled the surgical gown off of himself and exited the operating room.

An 'oomf' sounded from somewhere down the hall. A nurse peeked around the corner and shouted, "doctor!"

Buckley darted the short way down the hall into the entryway and found the nurse standing over a man who had collapsed. He knelled next to the man and spoke, "take it easy, I'm a doctor." He craned his neck in an attempt to see into the man's face. "What's the problem?"

Deck 26 - Medbay
I have to get up. He thought to himself, struggling to stand on more than one knee. He shook his head, trying to properly compose himself. The enemy could be anywhere. I have to keep moving. His thoughts were erratic, and otherwise irrational. He attempted to keep moving when he heard a woman's voice - her words unclear but her tone sounding like one of distress. He then heard a running toward his location when he froze. Hearing the voice of a man just inches away from him. His mind was racing with possible explanations and outcomes for this situation. His muscles tightened and his heart began beating erratically - adrenaline now beginning to pump throughout his body.

In a sudden and surprising show of strength and skill - Gabriel quickly dealt three powerful jabs to the strange mans stomach and chest, before gripping the man by the arm and flipping him over onto his back. Gabriel quickly climbed on top of the man and pinned him down, forearm pressed against his neck. Gabe stared down at the man, his eyes were wild and he was panting and shaking violently. Sweat dripping down his face. "Where am I!? What have you freaks done to me!?" He said, making it quite clear he was in some sort of strange and delusional state. His army fatigues indicated his military status - and the United States flag sewn onto the outfits shoulder indicated just where he served.

Buckley lay somewhat dazed on the floor, a hulk of a man pinning him down. The voices of the shocked medical staff mingled indiscriminately in the air.

Where am I!? What have you freaks done to me!?

The last few seconds replayed through the doctor's mind. Somewhere in his subconscious, his mind latched onto a thought: That fighting style... it seemed familiar. He blinked back the water in his eyes and refocused, looking into the man's crazed yet still piercing blue eyes, before his gaze was drawn to a familiar shape in his periphery: the flag of the United States.

Back in his subconscious, the brain concluded: If 'I'm a doctor' didn't work, perhaps pulling rank might? It was worth a shot, at least. In his experience, Buckley knew of soldiers who saluted out of instinct even while suffering from the most gruesome injuries, and some even who he wouldn't be surprised to learn, somehow saluted while under anesthesia.

The wind knocked out of him, Buckley attempted his best 'officer' voice under the circumstances: "Stand-" he wheezed before regathering himself. "Stand down, soldier!" It was not quite a yell, thanks to the forearm pressuring his throat. The doctor hoped that somebody on the medical staff was fetching a sedative in case the order didn't work.

Gabriel stared down at the doctor, his vision slowly clearing just as he heard the man below him shout. 'Stand down soldier!' The phrase itself seemed to trigger an almost immediate subconscious effect in which he'd pull himself off of the doctor in compliance. It would take him a few moments more for it to click in his head that he was in no danger.

When it all finally clicked, Gabriel looked down at the collapsed and wheezing doctor and gasped lightly. "Oh! I'm so sorry, sir." He said, kneeling down to help the doctor to his feet. "I hope I didn't injure you in any way - again I'm very sorry." The soldier would attempt to elaborate, the adrenaline rushing inside of him slowly ebbing away and was quickly replaced with the weak feeling he felt before - in which he tried to ignore it.

As head of security by self appointment at the least the Russian was notified of the situation going on in the medical bay, his face soon appeared on one of the monitors in the room as he looked around seeing the united states uniform brought him back, he spoke in a thick russian accent looking at the Doctor "Is everything alright in here i was told there was a problem do you need a security to come up and help?" he asked looking around the room on the monitor. As far as he could see there was nothing to troubling going on just an america causing trouble nothing new for him.

"If nothing is wrong we need everyone back on duty, with the enemy attacking us we need to have every last man and woman doing what they can to make a difference." black rubbed the back of his head and cracked a few nuckles going back to working on a few of the mechs and fighters trying to get them combat ready as soon as possible

"I am standing right behind you McFadden." I say dryly having taken the express elevator down to the hanger. "I thank you for the report." I bow my head slightly. "This may not be appropriate at the moment but welcome to the Comperior and glad to see people up. Let's make sure we all work together to survive this." I yell over at Black where I see him near a fighter. "Black! You got those EMP missiles attached to the fighter?"

"Just a moment Captain!" He barks some orders to the Engineers and a few minutes go by which I use to change into a pilots uniform. "Done!"

"Good I will be taking that fighter out. The bridge can handle itself." Just to be sure I take out my communicator. "Lieutenent Van Straten cut all power to engines to slow us down. We have several operations we must do here. Also I am heading out on a fighter so you have the bridge."

"Understood Captain. Come back safe."

"Deus vult." I reply ending the communication and get in the fighter and launch myself out.

Buckley rose, favoring his stomach a bit. "It's alright," he said, uneasily. There was no point in dressing down the soldier, as Buckley conceded the likelihood that the man was probably out of his head. And then there was the question of whether the authority behind his rank existed at all, seeing as the United States, not to mention the rest of the world, was almost certainly extinguished. But there would be time for existential conversations about rank and authority later.

The doctor thought back, to before the freezing. All the medical personnel were briefed on the possible side-effects of the carbon freezing process. Buckley himself was still slowly shaking some of the effects. The soldier in front of him, however, seemed to be dealing with it differently. But if his symptoms were not drastic, he would probably be fit to join in the defensive effort against their attackers.

Buckley raised his hand for an informal salute before dropping it for a handshake. "Major Kurt Buckley, United States Army, surgeon."

Art walked over to the turret. It was intimidating having only done something like this in arcade games and practice. He walked through a spinning door into a circular chamber that was off to the right of the bridge. The chamber had numerous pods extended out of the wall that people had to climb into. Arthur saw staff buzzing busy as bees around the chamber. Interrupting one he informed one of 3 individuals that he was there to run a turret. The staff member directed him to a pod. A coat hanger with 4 hooks sat between the 2 pods Art stood between. Removing his frock coat and topper he hung them up.

Eyes drifted. Legs swung. Art hopped into the pod and pushed the big blue button. The Lights shut down in the pod. The pod pushed forward and up, prompting a much grander view of space then in the bridge. A thick glass plate and shield seperated Arthur from the clammy cold embrace of oranos.

Sitting in his hydrolift seat, Art looked out into the jaws of the enemy fleet. It's glowering bloodshot eyes, yellow teeth and black throat. Fire spewed forth from the jaws like a dragon and laser fire hit the shield above Arthur's head. Truth be told fear was in Art, who proceeded to pray to the father son and Holy Ghost before grasping girly the controls as he was instructed prior to entering the pod.

Eyes drifted down at the big red eject button and Arthur wondered why that was installed before a hearty explosion lifted him to reality. His hands regrasped the H-shaped "controller" with red buttons on top. His thumbs rested on top of the controller and hit the fire button as quick as a bunny hopped in the old world. One shot after another brought one ship after another crashing down into the shield of the human ship.

"1st Lieutenant Gabriel Rodrigo Amoldo De la Fuente McKnight, United States Marine Corps." He said, saluting the Major before he dropped his hand to return the handshake to Major Kurt. "So whats happening currently, Major? Everyone seems to be in a fuss..have we found a suitable plant for colonization or something?" He inquired, tilting his head at the Major. He awaited an answer until another possibility slowly dawned on him.

His jaw tightened and his body seemed to tense up as he looked at Kurt. "Is it the Enemy, Major? Have they found us."
