Character App

Needed Information

Name: Peter Kowalski

Nickname: Pierre (which is what his Quebecois grandmother calls him), Pedro (which is what his ex-girlfriend's family called him), "Frenchie" (because of his tendency to speak in French as well as English, even though he's actually from Canada).

Age: 17

Sex: Male

Gender: Cis

Picture Appearance:
Image

Job Position: N/A

Abilities: Seeing as I think Corrian explained the difference between abilities and personal skills somewhere (I don't know where and I'm not really going to go through 100+ pages to find it), Peter is fairly intelligent and quite strong; not necessarily to Albert Einstein or Arnold Schwarzenegger levels (respectively) but he can still hold his own.

Origin: September 22nd, 1998, Toronto, ON, Canada

Personality: To put it bluntly, Peter's a bit of a loner, albeit one by choice. As a result, he tends to be quiet, slightly reserved and, most of the time, you won't know he's there. However, that isn't a major problem to him because he enjoys being by himself, gives him time to think. In fact, it only becomes a problem if you keep trying to socialise with him even when it's clear that he doesn't want to talk. You could argue that would make him a bit of a jerk, although he won't do anything malicious and, if provoked, he would either say a snide remark or just call you out on it; when you push him too far, he would challenge you to a cooking duel, a free throwing contest or, in really rare circumstances, a fight. He also has a tendency to swear in Quebecois, although he is trying to cut down on it.

However, there are moments where he can be sociable under his own free will. For example, he had a girlfriend, Jennifer, and their relationship was a good one, which lasted a couple of years (more on that later). Apart from that, he's very close to his family and gets along very well with them, often going back to Canada for the Summer and, apart from this year, Thanksgiving (which, for Canadians, is in October). And, if you're on his good side, then he's the most loyal friend you can have.

Apart from that, he's normally a straight B student. Not because it doesn't really interest him but because it keeps him out of the limelight, stops him getting extra attention, so he can still keep to himself. But, if there's anything he likes doing, he'll put plenty of effort and passion into it. In other words, he's a bit "Brilliant, but Lazy".

Equipment: Clothes:

  • Beige field jacket
  • A variety of shirts, ranging from a plain white one to shirts related to things he likes (see below)
  • Black jeans
  • Black and grey socks
  • Black Converse One Stars

He also has hockey jerseys - both home and away - for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Marlies, Colorado Avalanche and Team Canada, as well as a home jersey for Jokerit (which was actually sent over from his Finnish pen pal) and a home jersey for the Quebec Nordiques (which he bought at a Goodwill). He also has a couple of Blue Jays shirts, even though he doesn't really watch baseball that much. And, despite the fact that he doesn't like football at all, he has a Toronto Argonauts jersey, although it was a hand-me-down from his older brother Mike. During P.E., he wears a Toronto Raptors home kit, as well has his usual socks and shoes.

Equipment:

  • Toronto Maple Leafs backpack full of school supplies (as well as a smaller Leafs bag for his gym clothes)
  • A Team Canada duffel bag with all of his clothes
  • Silver 7th gen iPod Nano
  • A brown BMF wallet
  • Nokia Lumia 930
  • A Gilette Mach3 razor blade, shaving foam and some aftershave
  • 1994 Dodge Shadow

Suggested Information

Moral Alignment: Mostly true neutral, although on his good days he can be neutral good.

Blood Type: A+

Height, Weight, Body Type: Peter is 6' 1" (185cm), 173lb (78.5kg) and fairly slim, although in the right light there are some muscles.

Distinguishing Marks: His stubble, which makes him look much older than he really is.

Bio/History: Peter Wayne Kowalski was born in Roncesvalles, Toronto, ON on September 22nd, 1998. The youngest of Douglas and Béatrice (née Levasseur) Kowalski - his older brothers being twins Matthew Gordon Kowalski (aka Matt) and Michael Mario Kowalski (aka Mike); both were born on January 3rd, 1995 - he and his family moved to Denver, Colorado in 2000, as his father - who works as an SQL developer - was transferred there by his company. Although Matt and Mike settled into school alright, Peter was mainly quiet and just hanged around in the background. Although middle school was more of the same, he became more sociable in his first few years of high school (see below) This lead to his parents deciding to send him to Blake Holsey High for his last year, as they thought that a smaller school environment was better for him.

In sophomore year, he was paired with a girl called Jennifer for a science project. After they both found out they had some things in common - namely they're both loners (she was shy, whereas he chose solitude) and their families would move to the States after their births (his parents moved from Toronto when he was two, her parents moved from Guadalajara when she was three) - they started dating. The highlight of their relationship was Valentine's Day when, instead of doing anything for themselves, they decided to treat their parents, as well as Matt and his girlfriend at the time to a special Valentines dinner; Peter doing the cooking (along with Mike, who was single at the time but didn't want to feel left out, helping out) and Jennifer being the waitress. In fact, the only reason they broke up was because she and her family were moving to Syracuse and they didn't think that the relationship would survive long distance; either way, they still keep in contact with each other. Again, just goes to show that Peter can be sociable when he wants to and because it might add more to his character. I don't know.

Also, to those who are wondering, his love of cooking began when he was five years old. At Thanksgiving 2003, instead of watching the football (where the Ottawa Renegades beat the Argonauts 21-15), he asked if he could help out in the kitchen. And he did; even though he didn't really do a whole lot (most of it was just opening cans of food and taste testing just to see if things were done properly), he had plenty of fun doing it. It was at that moment when he realised that he wanted to be a chef, so he spent the next couple of years reading cookbooks, trying to replicate the recipes he's read or giving them a twist and just generally trying to hone his craft. Although the idea of culinary school came up quite a few times, Peter decided to wait until he was an adult before applying.

And yes, before you ask, their middle names are references to hockey players.

Additional Fun Stuff

Voice: Although he's been living in the US since he was two years old, he still retains a strong Ontarian accent. To give you a good idea of what he sounds like exactly, just imagine Stewart Francis but in a slightly higher pitch. And, before you ask, he actually says "a boat" instead of "aboot" and "hein?" instead of "eh?", although that last one comes up if he doesn't understand something.

Personal Skills: He's very good at basketball, having played it about every day for about ten years. And, even though I don't know if he'll be able to show it off unless someone pushes him that far, he's an excellent cook, with poutine being his specialty. He's also very good in French, being from Canada and, since he has relatives in and around Montréal, he can also speak Joual as well. He also speaks a little Spanish, as his ex-girlfriend was from Mexico.

Sex Orientation: Heterosexual.

Likes: Hockey; basketball; cooking; cooking shows, his favourite being Iron Chef; poutine, which is not only his specialty but also his favourite food; donuts (especially Tim Hortons); tea, both ice and regular; macaroni and cheese (bonus points if it's Kraft Dinner); Winter; Rick and Morty, his favourite TV show; and, of course...

Favourite East Coast Rappers: Nas; Biggie; Beastie Boys; Jay Z; Wu-Tang Clan; Immortal Technique; Company Flow (and El-P in general); Mos Def; Big L; KRS-One; Gang Starr; Public Enemy; Run DMC; Big Pun
Favourite West Coast Rappers: Earl Sweatshirt; Snoop Dogg; Tupac; NWA (although he's not a big fan of Eazy-E and, apart from a few exceptions, Ice Cube post-The Predator); Ice-T; DJ Quik; Kendrick Lamar; Nate Dogg; clipping.
Other music he likes: Outkast (his favourite); Frank Ocean; Common; Billie Holliday; Geto Boys; Kanye West (although he hates Yeezus and isn't that big on The Life of Pablo); MC Solaar; UGK; Blackstreet; J. Cole; Lil Jon (more a guilty pleasure, though)

Dislikes: Coffee; rock music (yes, including The Tragically Hip); metal; both Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor (so, obviously, he won't like that Marvin Gaye song); football (both American, Canadian and soccer); dubstep; smoking; drugs; jocks; homo- bi- and transphobia; being around people for too long; being touched (although friends, family and those with a good reason are the only exceptions) politics, to a lesser extent. Also, since I wouldn't classify it as a "dislike" due to it being something more, I'd like to point out that hurting Karlee (his best friend/honorary sister), Miyuki (his other friend/secret girlfriend) and/or Christian (his other other friend/roommate) in any way, shape or form will cause him to get angry.

Disorders & Handicaps: He's an ISTP, with a bit of emphasis on the I; while it is possible that there could be a reason for it, don't expect him to say what it is. He's also allergic to coconuts.

Past Occupations: He had a paper route when he was 12, but that was about it.

Fears, Wishes, and Goals: Fears: He's afraid of letting people down, which is probably one explanation as to why he's so introverted and why he tries to be average; afraid of getting ill, although it doesn't get to the point where he thinks he's dying just because he coughed; and he's afraid of mice and rats, mostly out of fear of contamination. He also doesn't like large groups of people, but it's more a dislike than a fear.

Wishes: He doesn't really have that many wishes, really. Maybe get through high school without any serious problems. Getting a girlfriend or any friends might be a bonus, but that's more of a side-wish.

Goals: His main goal is to go to a good culinary school, so he can perfect his art and fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming a chef. Bonus points if it's one in Canada.

Theme Song: Outkast - Elevators (Me and You)

Scent: Mostly aftershave, although there is a faint hint of poutine there.

Hopefully this is alright. If there any problems, issues, questions or anything like that, please let me know so I could answer, explain or change them. Also, I've had to change a few things from the last time I used this character (for example, originally he was 18 because he was born on September 2nd, before the start of the school year) and I wanted to make sure I got everything planned in so I don't end up throwing stuff into the IC that wasn't in my app. So, if it turns out that I didn't need to do make any changes, I might change it back.

P.S. Apologies if it looks like I've ripped off Dylan. I haven't, this is all purely coincidental.

Bringing this fellow back over (with a couple changes):

Name: Stephen Lindstrom

Nickname: Stephen the Heathen

Age: 18

Sex: Male

Gender: Cis, but kinda feminine-looking

Picture Appearance:
Image

Job Position:

Abilities: Stephen is a synesthete (sound to color and number to color)

Origin: November 3 1997, Seattle, WA

Personality: Stephen is easygoing, analytical and open-minded. He's slow to anger or offend. He's generally laid-back but can kinda implode when stressed out. He cares about his appearance, but not about fashion trends.

Equipment: A laptop, hair dye, a Swiss army knife, a small Mjolnir pendant, seamless socks, noise-cancelling headphones and a bass guitar.

Suggested Information

Moral Alignment: N or NG?

Blood Type: A-

Height, Weight, Body Type: 6'1 and lanky

Distinguishing Marks: He wants to get a tattoo in Elder Futhark but hasn't picked one out yet

Bio/History: Stephen was born in a middle-class family in West Seattle. Public education was always hard on him because of his sensory issues. When he was 14 he converted to Norse paganism, which his Lutheran parents kinda rolled their eyes at and considered some weird phase and which he got mixed reactions for at school. When he was 16 he met his (quasi) long term girlfriend who he was in an open relationship with for 2 years. They broke up earlier this year because Stephen liked a guy more than her - a guy who ironically turned out to be straight. Being fed up with his life in the Seattle public school system anyways, he decided to make his last year of high school into an adventure and applied for Blake Holsey High.

Additional Fun Stuff

Voice:

Personal Skills: Programming in Python, playing bass and keyboards

Sex Orientation: Bisexual (Kinsey 2), also polyamorous (but currently single)

Likes: Metal, electronic music, pagan religions, programming, games (PC and tabletop), speculative fiction, hiking

Dislikes: Christianity, shallow people, pop songs with vapid lyrics, racists misusing Viking symbolism

Disorders & Handicaps: Stephen has sensory processing issues so uncomfortable noises, textures or lights can cause him to become very agitated.

Past Occupations:

Fears, Wishes, and Goals: Fears strange noises in the night and parasitic animals, wishes for a keytar and a mead horn, has the goals of getting a stem degree and learning Old Norse.

Theme Song: \m/

Scent: Clean, maybe a bit "oceanic", but nothing too flashy

I also have a new character idea or two that I'll work on more and post soon.

"In a second"

Got busy with something.

Either way, everything is accepted.

Elejamie wrote:P.S. Apologies if it looks like I've ripped off Dylan. I haven't, this is all purely coincidental.

Nah, it doesn't. They're pretty different. And it's not really that big of a deal if there are some similarities with characters anyway. Might make them more likely to get along, too.

Edit: Pretty sure everything is up to date again.

Bio/History: Skipping, at least for now, because Corrian said I could and he trusts me :P . I'll give a quick summary, though. Basically, Drake has lived a good life with his family of 14 (Including him). 2 being parents, the other 12 being siblings. They're pretty rich, live in a big house, and all generations love fun. Holidays at their house are beyond epic, and Drake and his high-school-age siblings will be bringing this in to the RP a bit.

Additional Fun Stuff

Scent: Drake often smells sweet, like freshly washed clothes, mixed with the pleasant scent of a pine forest. Sometimes he has the smell of horse on him, but somehow it's generally not the bad horse smells, but the smell of the horse itself, rather than it's poo. It's not a bad smell, because he keeps his horse clean.

Accepted, obviously :)

Edit: By the way, any time anyone wants, they can tell me where they want their students to be roomed at, so I can start figuring out what is and isn't full.

Nah, it doesn't. They're pretty different. And it's not really that big of a deal if there are some similarities with characters anyway. Might make them more likely to get along, too.

Edit: Pretty sure everything is up to date again.

Phew, that's good

Also, I wouldn't bet on the two getting along. Dylan doesn't really like foreigners (and, by extension, immigrants), whereas Peter's a Canadian who moved to the US when he was two. Unless, of course, Canadians are an exception or the two learn to tolerate each other. Either way, should make for some interesting writing and/or character development.

P.S. Do you think you can put my guy in room 30? I don't know why that room specifically, but it's somewhere upstairs with a good view.

I actually don't know if Dylan truly dislikes foreigners completely, or if he just likes to make stupid insults and generalizations about people (I made a Mexican immigrant in here last time, and I was going to have him be a bully to her). Either way, I don't know if your guy would be too fond of him. He's more of a bully then truly disliking them, I think, I just put that kind of stuff in the dislikes because of his attitude.

Anyway, I'll add the characters to the list.

Edit: Hmm, I was going to put my two brothers together, but they would probably actually want to be in different rooms then each other. Any takers for either William or Dylan to room with?

Edit 2: I can also tweak rooms around if any of you decide you want to room together.

Oh, OK. That's actually quite interesting to know.

Also, even if he doesn't truly dislike foreigners completely, there could be some other reasons for them not liking each other. IIRC, the Bruins (if Dylan likes hockey and they're his favourite team) and the Maple Leafs are rivals, so that might also be another reason for them not to get along. Maybe it's the fact that Dylan likes football, whereas Peter doesn't. Maybe it's over a girl (unlikely but don't rule it out). Or maybe it's because Peter's an introvert who prefers solitude, which means he might seem a bit cold and rude to people (and it doesn't help that he doesn't think too highly of Dylan). The possibilities are endless.

Again, maybe the two will eventually get along (or become vitriolic best buds, for any fellow Tropers out there), especially if they find out they have things in common. Maybe they don't and remain each other's arch-rivals. Maybe they never interact with one another. Either way, Dylan's one of your guys and this is basically your RP, so feel free to do whatever you want; if you're unsure about what should happen next in their relationship, don't be afraid to shoot me a TG and I'll see if I can help you out.

Character App
**(Erase words in parentheses when finishing app)**

Needed Information

Name: Jillian Saphnie

Nickname: Jill, Sapphire

Age: 14

Sex: Female

Gender: She sees herself as a girl, so yeah.

Picture Appearance:
Image

Ignore the stats and the name! I just found the picture and wanted to use it

Job Position: Well, she's not a teacher, so I don't think I need to fill this in

Abilities: She's decently smart when it comes to math and can do basic math situations and a bit more complex things in her mind with ease. Kind of like a calculator, except not as fast with more complex situations

Origin: (Birth Date, Birthplace, Nationality, etc. Items that would be on your passport, or birth certificate.) December 12, 2002, Pueblo, Colorado

Personality: A pretty easygoing girl in general, really. She can be a bit nerdy when it comes to some of her favorite topics and tends to nerd out at them at times, which usually ends up with her getting embarrassed. She talks a lot, especially when nervous or excited, and the topic she talks about always changes and she never stays on topic for more than a few seconds at a time. Her mind can run around rather freely and won't stay on topic for too long, much like her nervous talking. Some could say that she can be pretty energetic at times, and you wouldn't entirely be wrong about that. At times she runs around like a scared mouse, or she's put too much caffeine into her system, even though she doesn't normally drink caffeine, since that normally never ends well for her in the long run. She can be pretty friendly for some, and a bit unfriendly towards others. Most of the time she's just neutral and won't focus on making any new friends. She's got classes to pass after all. Sometimes she'll try to play matchmaker, only to have that fail miserably, since she's not good at reading emotions or anything like that. She's the girl that focuses more on the here and now rather than the there and later, and she takes like at an incredibly fast pace

Equipment:
Calculator (for math problems she can't do in her head)
Computer
Packed clothes, of course.
Some sleeping stuff she needs
Toothbrush and other personal hygiene things
School supplies
A DS (old school, the only game system she wanted to bring)

Suggested Information

Moral Alignment: True Neutral

Blood Type: O+

Height, Weight, Body Type: 5'4, 100 pounds, has a skinny body in general, but she's not unhealthily skinny

Distinguishing Marks: Honestly, there's nothing really distinguishing about her right now, but she might get her ears pierced or a tattoo sometime in the RP

Bio/History: Well, nothing too horrible is in her past, really. She grew up with her mother and father in Pueblo, her mother being a teacher, a science teacher to be exact, and her father being just a simple mailman. Jillian had a pretty decent life, she wasn't pampered and she didn't live in the lap of luxury, but she also wasn't poor and needed to save food and all that, no. The family had no financial problems in the slightest. Jillian was a bit slow on learning certain things when she was a bit younger, specifically how to talk. Her first word was spoken at a very fast pace, and that's how it stayed until she finally learned how to actually take pauses in between her words, and after that, verbal communication went by smoothly enough. During school she had a few friends, but she certainly wasn't the most popular person in school, not that she cared, that kind of attention from other classmates would have Jillian probably just a bit stressed, and probably have her end up talking fast again. She was decent in all of her classes, excelling in math, mostly, and her teachers always had to remind her to show her work on the paper, but she'd always forget to. It just seemed too easy, she would say, a waste of space on the paper. She learned to put her work on the paper though, after a couple of reminders, and actually having to write it on the top of her assignments to remember that. Her other classes, like stated before, went by decently. She only had troubles in Science. Rather ironic, really, since her mother was actually the teacher of that class as well. Her mother seemed to have just a bit more expectations in her daughter than the rest of the class, and called on her more often, gave her harder questions, slightly altered assignments to make it just a bit more difficult. Yes, her mother meant well, but Jillian found it just too challenging! She slowly began to get annoyed by the mere mention of the subject. Of course, she never expressed this to her mother, she didn't want to disappoint her, but she did spend many nights running through fake arguments in her head about that subject. Around the time of her fourteenth birthday, her parents had heard of a rather successful boarding school and had thought that Jillian should go there. Hey, she might even learn something she normally wouldn't at normal schools. So, Jillian was given a few days to pack, and then sent off to the boarding school

Additional Fun Stuff

Voice: Finally found a voice I like. She starts talking at twelve seconds in or so. It's Miranda Cosgrove https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvO8D_Alh34

Personal Skills: Well, like I said, she's kind of like a calculator when it comes to basic math. She can also talk at an incredibly fast pace when she wants to. While not being too friendly towards people, she remembers to check up on her friends and spend time with them and puts her friends first most of the time.

Sex Orientation: Currently she's questioning her sexuality, and she's hoping to at least experiment a bit in the future (not the near future) to see which one she prefers, guys or girls

Likes: Math, her friends, playing matchmaker, pop and jazz music, dancing (not good at it), some anime, certain video games, reading books, making good friends, all sweet things.

Dislikes: Science, bullies, failed relationships (it's just sad), intolerant people, people who are overly cocky, most metal or rock musics, waiting too long

Disorders & Handicaps: ADHD alllll the way. A seriously bad case of it, hyper all the time and her mind wanders off.

Past Occupations: She didn't have much of an occupation when growing up to the age she is now. She had a small lemonade stand when she was seven, selling a cup of lemonade for a simple ten cents, but that was it

Fears, Wishes, and Goals: (Each of these three things influence your characters. Fears limit and control them disallowing them from certain activities and providing prejudice towards things or people. Wishes are less like limits due to fear, and more along the line of a way to coax a character towards a goal. Goals are stronger than wishes, and thus can cause more problems.)
Fears: Spiders, being alone, embarrassing herself too much, losing her friends, fire, and the thought of things she's done wrong in the past. She wants to constantly move forward. She feels if she gets stuck in the past, she'll keep thinking about the 'what ifs'.
Wishes: Have a few more friends, really, that's about it. If you want to add more then yes, she does want to put someone into a stable relationship as well.
Goals: get a good education and job (thinking ahead, just like her), the job preferably being something involving her favorite subject, math making her parents proud of her, getting into a stable relationship with someone (for now, not marriage, just something steady that will last a while)

Theme Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zCy3EWs9Q0 Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo - Let's Go

Scent: due to her love of all things sweet, she often smells like strongly scented candy, if you know what I mean.

Alright, i hope this is good
RP Types I Enjoy: God RPs (anything involving deities), alt history, medieval.
Just call me Sahara

Speaking of, I'll work on the IC later (Most of it should be easy because I'm just gonna be lazy and take what I've done before, because it feels kinda pointless to waste my time making a post for the same exact thing in a different way that I did before. But of course after the first post, it changes from there), but I may give people another day or two before I actually post it to see what other apps show up.

Well, it may take me a bit more work then I thought to get the IC post done, because I'm mostly starting fresh so a lot of the old stuff I have doesn't work anymore. However, I'll probably just post with the newcomers first, and not bother with first day intros into the school for the people who are coming back for second, third, ect years. I'll just post with them later and focus on the people arriving for the first time.
