An Elder Scrolls roleplay? As if! We've never seen that before!
Anyway, I always find Elder Scrolls RPs a lot of fun, and while they don't always work out, one can always try! The setting is huge, with lots of little details hidden in its lore, and with a massive and varied world to use it should never be boring. In this Roleplay, you'll be free to do as you like (within limits, I'll have to add), creating your own story somewhere within Tamriel - although I recommend interacting with other players, which always makes things more interesting and fun. If you want, you can ask me or my Co-OPs to throw an event at you or something of the likes, if you're not sure what to do or how to start out, possibly even yielding rewards of some kind!
The roleplay's focus is on storytelling, and if you're stuck the OP and his Co-OPs will gladly help you out. That said, feel free to discuss whatever you like in this thread (within NS's rules, eh?)
The World
The world of Tamriel is, as can be expected, much the same as the one we know and love - although it is set slightly more than a hundred years past Skyrim. As such, here's a rundown of the major events that've happened in the past century!
Rules & Application
As always, there are some rules in place - these shouldn't be too hard to follow, I believe, and are pretty much common sense, but here they are anyway!
Follow the site's rules.
Don't godmod/metagame/etc.
Use correct grammar and spelling.
Minimum IC post size should be one paragraph compromising of at least 4 lines.
Don't be an ass.
No Dragonborn allowed. Go shout somewhere else!
Players can not achieve CHIM, nor can they use Console Commands (looking at you, Vivec) or the Creation Kit. No reloading old save games!
You're allowed three characters total - none of them should be Canon characters, and if they're related only distantly so (exceptions for minor characters).
Have fun!
Current no-no's for character creation:
No vampires
No races that aren't playable in the game (we already have a few of those running around)
No leaders of Companions/Fighters Guild/College of Winterhold/etc
Behold, thy application form! Please don't start out with silly OP equipment such as fully enchanted gear or Daedric stuff. Thanks.

It is the year 307 of the Fourth Era, and the dawn of the Fifth Era is upon us. The future of Tamriel stands at the precipice. The entire continent shall be engulfed by the coming Great War, the second of its kind. The remaining provinces of the Empire now stand united behind Emperor Remaunus Cardes III, grandson of the first to bear his name, he who was sent to take the Ruby Throne by Reman Cyrodiil and Tiber Septim themselves, reclaiming several of the relics of Pelinal Whitestrake, the Divine Crusader, bane of Elfkind, and he who reforged what was left of the Empire of old. Opposed to the Empire stand the Aldmeri Dominion, victors of the Great War, utterly convinced of Merkind's supremacy over mankind, still recovering from their losses during that War. The Dunmer of Morrowind and the Argonians to their south are still at war, the only thing keeping the Argonians from overrunning all of the Dark Elves' homeland the efforts of the still mighty House Redoran. Hammerfel, still independent, too prepares for battle against the hated Thalmor once more.
