You are technically correct, sir... as Futurama says the best kind of correct!

Theoretically though if the boom could work on a -23BN, the affixing it directly to a -23P without other minor changes could work. It wouldn't be strictly realistic, but it could work. The boom is off a Mirage anyhow so it isn't a stretch that the modification could be made.

In the long run I just thought it might be a good upgrade for short legged aircraft, especially if someone new joins with a lower tier aircraft and finds themselves out-ranged by the missions assigned to them. I'd love to see more missions where we could fly recon or ecm, as I am a sucker for being the squishy wizard in RPs. That or the bard. I get told to hush a lot....

Be careful out there. Already lost Gunny in the water, don't need you being swept away as well.

Well easier said then done, almost lost a deuce and a half, with 15 guys in it including me when a branch the size of a 125mm casing hit the side of the truck and almost pushed us off the bridge into the river

MISSION UPDATE
Manbasa, Dorusia
November 8, 1992
81°F (27°C) Sunny

Formerly the northernmost city in South Sotoa, Manbasa was captured by Dorusia during the Verusean War in mid-1986. Urban, with a high population density for its size, the city has been plagued with a minor insurgency against foreign rule, yet despite this the region has remained relatively peaceful if not strictly maintained by a vigilant police force. A small airbase sits west of the city with a naval port and armory in the northeast along the waterfront. Manbasa is typical of most developments in this area of the world. Repeated attempts by South Sotoa to have the city peacefully returned have failed.

The armory has been secured by allied forces, however, the battle for downtown is still very much active. Allied planes have inflicted casualties upon the enemy but have taken losses as well. Two enemy Ace squadrons are approaching from the south. Eliminate all hostile aircraft or else survive until DAF reinforcements arrive.

Both Viggens were last seen pursuing Aguila. One broke off and one is still tailing. If that helps your post.

Go for it. Just don't fire one missile and knock out 80% of the enemies.

Technically it'd be 4. But yeah.

Witch reappears:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40FsKwX-K8U

Start at 1:51. :p

Dibs on that one. Time to for Nonna to do what she does best: shoot down high altitude aircraft. Will probably be incommunicado next week due to finals... maybe not we'll have to see.

Week after that I am free though, so count me in.

Kyraina be safe and good luck! As the Japanese would say "Gammbatte!"

....

Wut....

So who's dibbing what now.

Personally am looking at an Ace, but whether it'll be fun to write an F-4, or stick to the Flankers for the moment...

I'd like to Dib the Yak-25RV, Witch... I am free Friday so I'll probably be OK to post then if no one has any objections. I have never gone after an Ace before, and he's one of the few aircraft I stand a chance of shooting down nowadays, what with the MiG-23P's increasing obsolescence. It would be a different experience to write an Ace on Ace duel for me... but if others had dibs on Witch first then I will acquiesce.

I am half tempted to let him get away... staying in the theme "stop that pigeon" theme. Maybe have Nonna's radar go out or something...

Then if somebody else wanted to bag him, they'd be free to.

I'm relinquishing Witch, will go after the Flankers.

OK. I am fairly sure that the Yak-25RV would actually have been something Nonna has encountered before in training, as the Soviets used them to simulate U-2s IRL. Assuming Bearusia would do the same here...

Keep in mind that your radar would show a friendly IFF tag so you'd be at a slight disadvantage identifying enemy aircraft from a distance. Plus you probably wouldn't get away with engaging the Mandrake without some difficulties sent your way.

Question, wouldn't changing the IFF tags go both ways?

I'd have to look, but it would be a valid risk to undertake if it helps with a surprise attack like this.

The reinforcements would have just as much a chance of friendly fire on the forces already there if that were the case.

So hostile aircraft (or some) are showing friendly IFF, correct?
