From what Google is telling me, TARPS = Tactical Airborne Reconnaissance Pod System, a system used by the F-14 for aerial reconnaissance of terrain. As it relates to the RP, I assume a desired recon mission into Beiarusia to find the PoW camp.

Hey all,

Sorry for the bouncing in and out but I figured that I should give you all an update. Not all of you may know this but, like some others here, I'm a member of the US Army National Guard and I serve as a medic. Over the past few months, I've been bouncing around my brigade doing medical coverage where needed for several weeks at a time and due to these, I haven't been able to access the internet as much. That being said, I'm almost through all the time I was scheduled for and should be able to come back to this shortly.

So after doing the math, I've realized that I won't be capable of getting the F-15C before the end of the RP. So I'm buffing the absolute fuck out of the "Black Hornet".

- Airframe Durability ($800,000)
- Countermeasures Upgrade($1,025,000)
- Tracking ($1,300,000)
- Engine Upgrade ($750,000)
- Engine Efficiency($300,000)
- Radar Improvement($1,200,000)

- Total = $5,037,500 - $4,700,000 = $337,500 leftover.

Yeah that, I just haven't had time to finish the IC post requesting one yet. But um, one fighter (Garret's F-14D) two volunteers, a TARPS Pod, ECM Pod, two ADM Tactical Air Launched Decoys with two sidewinders, and an AIM-120 for defense.

There is a really good website that talks about every weapon and attachment ever equipped to an F-14 even just experimentally and every single piece of equipment that was standard or added on to them too. It's given me a lot of ideas on how to keep the bird capable of operating on a tier 5 level because it doesn't seem like Garret will ever afford an F-22 or 23

I think that it might be cool to have my mission concurrent with the training flight if it gets cleared.

Maybe that's how it goes down.

How do we feel about the TARPS being interrupted by Snowcat?

I think yes. A berusian flight intercepts Garret and is on the verge of taking him down when enter Snowcat

Oh.

I meant Garret is out doing his thing when he's intercepted. Enter Snowcat.

Pearsohn's never been a talented fighter pilot, just a talented criminal/mercenary. I'd put my money on Aiden or Jones. They're the professionals. Wakahisa's got some weight behind her, but we've seen better, Null is from a prestigious squadron and was a protégé of a talented fighter pilot, but he himself seems to be rather a talented leader and not a talented fighter pilot. Aguila is caught somewhere in the Jack-of-all-Trades area and so that puts me rooting for only one of two people... Aiden and Jones have both been put into plenty of fights, but IIRC, Aiden's younger and still has plenty of fight left in him. He's managed to land crippled aircraft and airframes and is ruthless enough to consider doing the unthinkable in the fight like a true scrapper. Jones is more refined and seems to be a more knightly character, and while I'd like to believe he'd win against Frosty, I doubt that he'd be able to fight down and dirty enough, or up to the physical stresses that Frosty in turn would take... I don't know their career records either, but I think the more rigid training of Jones, while highly beneficial would wilt under Frosty's own training.

Just my thoughts on all of this in the polls. Others are more than welcome to debate.

*Using sports anchor voice*

Great stuff, Kass. But I'll have to counter you by saying that in a straight-up fight, Aiden is dust in the wind. His experience is mainly with air-to-ground rather than dogfighting, which is why I think we can see Jones or Pearsohn coming out on top today. But we can never overlook the prestigious Null, and while you're right Null's strength may be in leadership, we can't underestimate his raw talent in the cockpit against other aircraft. I guess we'll just have to see what unfolds on the field for us today, or should I say the skies?

Pretty much. Most of his piloting career has been in multirole aircraft so it'd make sense for him to be a jack of all trades, master of none kinda guy. I never really wanted a super amazing fighter ace character anyway, nor did i want a rookie, somebody who's experienced enough to know the deal yet young enough to make mistakes and more importantly, improvements. He'd hold his own in a fight against the other guys but under pressure, would probably eventually buckle and start making mistakes, honestly my vote has to go to Jones. I've not seen enough of Frosty to make a calculated judgement.

that said i'm voting for myself anyway because nobody said i can't olololo

I'm voting on the grounds of youth and experience. Jones seemed to be the most experienced, but his physical wounds might hinder him somewhat during an extended fight (unless it gets fully fixed).

Ok, first new post in a long time is up. This one was really fun to write, the Trabant is an unending well spring of bad car jokes. And I thought giving Nonna a way to get off base more easily might allow for some more interesting outings with friends. The backstory behind what she's been doing all this while is essentially that she's been payed to give boring seminars for 'Scythe" on MiG-23 tactics in the V-PVO, which they have been semi-ignoring as I assume they good enough pilots already and are only there because someone higher up mandated they be or just prefer Western Tactics. They've also been using her as a test pilot for repaired battle damaged MiGs, and for various odd jobs around the base. Nonna's sick of being a lackey to them, even if they are better pilots, so she's told the Scythe CO to keep his money and come crawling back to Morena.
