Stahl was born into a rather well educated household deep within Estovakia, born into a life of privilege. Well educated and well connected he had little issue getting into the esteemed Estovakian Air Force's Flight school. There was where his privilege ended. He was never the top of his class, never had particularly outstanding fighter scores and was never particularly skilled at Fighter tactics. He was however not too shabby in regards to Ground Attack Aircraft. Of course, The Estovakian Air Force often viewed Ground Attack Pilots as 'inferior' to their Air Superiority focused comrades. In a rather uneventful assignment he was charged with being a pilot for an Su-25 'Frogfoot' Aircraft. Not an especially esteemed position, but flying none the less. Stahl wasn't happy, but he wasn't disappointed either. It seemed as if Stahl would live out a quite, and unremarkable career. This however, proved to be fictitious. An extremist group who, in retrospect, wasn't important enough for anyone to bother naming, had attacked an Estovakian Oil Field and Stahl and his wingman happened to be the closest asset to aid the embattled Estovakian Security Forces. A bit overkill? Of course, but there's no kill like Over kill.
The pair of SU-25's was carrying a fairly standard load of 240mm Rockets and anti-tank missiles. Complete overkill considering the circumstances. But Stahl, in a surprising act of competence. Successfully provided Close Air Support, without killing Friendly troops, and more importantly, without damaging the Oil Facilities. Although, he was chastised for using 240mm rockets to blow up the Terrorist van as they attempted to flee the seen. Or was it because he'd missed twice destroying Guard Houses that were fortunately unoccupied? At the end of the day, it proved that he did indeed know how to do his job, And after some additional training he became a competent pilot. The Estovakian government was so eager to get rid of him, They set him up with a job in the 13th Mercenary Air Squadron and he'd barely cleared the door before it could hit him right in the ass. Upon his arrival to the 13th, To his surprise an Su-25 didn't await him. But an Aircraft he'd never flown, a Panavia Tornado. How hard could it be.... Right?

Schutlz is very much the polar opposite of Stahl. Born to poor farmers in Estovakia who had no contacts. He had to fight tooth and nail to get into the Air Academy and in many cases, had to resort to less than.. acceptable... means in order to progress. Including but not limited too, ensuring his competition had untimely accidents around exam times. Of course, this isn't to say that he wasn't a good pilot, In fact he was a rather decent one. But he certainly did not take his chances. His hard work payed off and in the end, he was assigned to a Fighter Squadron, the pilot of a Su-27 Fighter Aircraft. A more than prestigious position especially considering that he'd started out with literally nothing. Things were going fairly well until an armed altercation with another Officer resulted in him having his Commission revoked. He drifted from country to country taking up various piloting jobs, His renown from his younger days fading away as the years drug on. Eventually, a smartly dressed individual approached him as he was attempting to drink himself to death in a bar, informing him of the 13th Mercenary Air Squadron, and that it would give him the opportunity to fly again. I'm sure we can all bet on his surprise when he was greeted with someone who'd he only heard tails of incompetence about among the Estovakian Air Force.

Josef would have went to the academy in the late 60's or early 70's if he's 41 years old. The SU-27 would still be about a decade+ away from when Josef would have become a pilot (somewhere between 22 and 28) The MiG-25 would be the biggest and bestest fighter in the Estovakian Arsenal at the time.

OP related side question:
Is a player able to change loadouts during an engagement? Or a prolonged battle? I'm assuming not.
Better to start with mixed loadout?
I.E x4 AGM-65's and x2 GBU-12's and x2 Side Winders?
Rookie mistake my apologies, Has been corrected.

Well i wasn't referring to just magically changing in the air, But if friendly ground forces captured an Air Strip, using it as a REUP point.
I'm interested to see how multi-role layouts would work on some aircraft that never had any sort of Ground Attack suite (to my knowledge) namely F-14 which there seems to be an abundance of.

People have done it a couple of times yes, some battles that would be unnecessary as they'd be over by the time you'd have returned to the home plate and back, depends on the situation i suppose.
