Regardless I doubt Osea will do anything overt given the powder keg sitting on their northern border. Despite being a superpower I doubt they'd want to start a shooting war with Belka, who no doubt would respond if their ally, Beiarusia, was targeted in anyway. A slippery slope no matter what they do. Best case scenario would be to use intel assets or otherwise distance themselves to save face. This whole part of the world is on edge so I'm certain those who can will try to keep the peace for a bit longer.

I'm gonna wait a bit until I make another post, since I assume it'll take like 3-4 days at least for Snowcat to get to Seian. I may make a post of them stopping in Dorusia, which is ironic, but it's roughly halfway to Seian from Indus, sooo...

Hey everybody! It's been ages! Anyways, the return of Nonna Radomir will follow sometime soon, now that I am reaching the end of my college career and hopefully will not be jam packed with stuff to do. I finished writing the short story I said I would write about Nonna, but unfortunately I don't think it turned out too well, so I decided against posting it. It's no great loss, as it would have taken place out of continuity anyways. So instead I am back, and will bring back Nonna where she belongs, in the seat of a PVO fighter, sometime soon. Can anyone give me the spark notes version of how the war has been going, and wether or not Nicky is still kicking?

Post coming up tomorrow night or Monday. Sorry for the delay. Gonna move us ahead a few days to a week or so. We aren't grounded anymore but the fighting still hasn't picked back up, although the border is as tense as ever after what happened. MP's are still on base as well despite the intel leak having fled. Figured we could get the practice sortie against Scythe and whatnot before the next mission.

Short thing up for Haruna to respond to alongside Null, then maybe some time for dialogue between Null and Pearsohn before cut to prep and execution of the practice missions/sorties. Scythe's treat.

It can take place now. I got time... nothing but...

San Dominiguez, San Martin
April 19th, 1989

The watercraft slowly, almost lazily, seemed to be spinning in empty circles as the current pulled it away into the depths of the San Dominiguez river, the silhouette of the small boat that Pearsohn had used to come ashore with the rest of team had served it's purpose, almost. Watching as the small craft continued to slowly, slothfully, almost begrudgingly wind its way down the river front, Pearsohn leveled his weapon towards the small rubber vessel, looking at it curiously through his night vision scope. The small carbine in his hands weighed next to nothing and keeping a trained grip on it was easy. Letting his fingers run absent-mindedly over the slights and grooves of the handgrip left him smiling oh so slightly at every little crack and chip missing from the hardened plastic cover. He'd been through a lot with this weapon, but what was about to happen would probably leave him parting with the weapon tonight. They'd need to go in heavy, and leave light.

"Almost time, ten more seconds."

A hushed voice brought him from his little trance brought on by the slow pirouetting of the little zodiac now almost entirely down and out of view. Lifting his scope a few inches, he now could see their target, or at least the craft's target. Framed in the moonlight and the eerie green light of the Night Vision scope was a single bridge, not too important in size or function, save for that it served as the primary means for the patrol they'd engaged earlier to get back into the little town of San Dominiguez. Now, with the entire region likely on high alert, they'd been forced to show their hand, and removing the weapon's scope from his sight, he watched on in anticipation of the coming moment.

"Three, two, boom."

The voice harmonized with the sound of a small button being depressed, there was a momentary pause, a hushed silence of anxiety meeting excitement. Adrenaline pumping already through the five smuggler's veins as they prepared to embark on one of their hardest sorties yet. All five were capable men, but they hadn't been chosen for just any reason, and as a brilliant white-hot blossom of fire shot up and cascaded around the bridge, more detonations rippled across the steel and wood frame as the remaining charges planted by an earlier recon group took effect. A delay of three or so seconds left Pearsohn wondering just how far they were as the sudden increase in pressure and the thunderous crack and roar of the massive explosion reached his ears.

"Go, go, go! Everyone, weapons up, lock and load! Let's get in there and get some in. Don't want to let Anton down. R-O-E is anything that moves, these folks were the ones that got a solid fifty of our guys killed. No mercy, no matter what they say. Alpha, you lead the way, use the heavy weapons to take down the guard towers and suppress the barracks. Bravo, you push hard left, flank around and start picking off the mother fuckers as they run towards you. They decided to corner themselves. Now let's just finish them off!"

A small shout of approval and soon all men were on their feet running up the embankment of the river and towards the area now filled with lights and shouting and the sounds of panic as personnel in the small prison camp struggled to come to terms with what had just happened. San Dominiguez had served as the sentencing and execution ground for over two hundred criminals in the last two years. That however was just the one's intentionally killed, those whom had died through medical or resource neglect had been left uncounted, their bodies dumped in the San Dominiguez to be eaten by the fish and reptiles that lived in it. Now, though a small group in total, the ones they'd been oppressing and fighting for so long had brought the fight to them. As the first two men broke up over the edge of the hill, the one carrying the light machinegun promptly dropped prone and began to fire. The loud popping sound of the weapon's chatter as it tore into the night and the bodies of those unfortunate enough to be in front of it filled the air, masking the sound of the second man in the team quickly setting up his own weapon.

Panicked shouts and screams filled the air, and as gunfire started to return, suddenly the sound of a solid whump audibly filled the air in the brief pause between bursts of gunfire. The resounding report of a rifle-launched 40mm grenade detonating against the side of building and the responding cracking, crunching, and collapse of said building gave way to dead silence on the behalf of the prison guards now beginning to register the reality of the situation. Tracers, still flying angrily from the barrel of the light machine gunner as he laid down more fire into the night. Guards lay, either ripped to shreds bleeding out, or cowering behind cover. IT was to no avail as now the second branch of the attack came into fruition.

Tracers ripped out of the forest from behind the men cowering from the seemingly full-frontal assault from the machine-gunner and his ammo-bearing grenadier friend. Brilliant blue-white streaks burned their arcing trails through the night air as crisp cracks and pops sent splinters of wooden structures into the air. Needless to say, the sounds of bullets hitting the bodies of fleeing guards and contractors in the camp could be barely made out over the resounding thunder of gunfire and explosions as wet mulching noises. Sounds of bones breaking and popping as bullets made hard contact with armor penetrating capabilities that could make some APCs blush. This wasn't a fight, and the guards knew it as they quickly were laid out and massacred.

One by one, the shadowy figures of the personnel from the woods began to materialize out of seemingly thin air as they pushed up on the encampment and picked their way through the struggling bodies of those not dead yet to put them down and to double-tap the one's not missing limbs or significant body mass. Explosions continuing to rock the far side of the prison camp, the sounds of prisoners beginning to panic and run about within their confines lead only to further screams as stray rounds tore into the crowds of smugglers and detained pirates made into unintentional victims of the deadly crossfire. Almost as soon as the fighting had started though, it had ended and dozens of prison guards lay dead or dying, their screams mingling with the sounds of flames and the burning of wooden support structures around the watchtowers.

A resounding explosion to the South gave way to the Alpha team's demolition charges now set and being detonated as they penetrated through the outer barrier of the camp. The Bravo team, having chosen the hostile backdrop of the jungle had simply made a soft entrance to the camp under the cover of the Alpha team and now had already penetrated deep within. Their target was close, the objective of all this carnage and destruction lay on the other side of a large iron door from within could be heard shouting of dozens of political dissidents and important prisoners slated for execution in the nearer times. Breaching and clearing the building quickly, a few pops of gunfire into cowering guards and over-aggressive prisoners soon revealed the location of the inmate they'd come for.

"Anton, it's Silvertongue. I think you're ride's here, but we got to get moving quick. We've got less than ten minutes before they start flooding this place and hunting for us. Get back." A quick motion had the Yuktobanian man, gaunt from the weeks of neglect and possible torture he'd been under, now scrambling for cover. A few more gunshots and their reports echoing through the corridors of the VIP prison section had the door flying open and within minutes the men of Bravo had extracted Anton from the camp. Acrid black smoke rolled out over the river banks and sent ashes and sparks flying high into the sky to mingle with the distant backdrop of a thousand pinpricks of light, far removed witnesses to the brutality of this night.

As the men poured out onto the banks of the river, they could see now over the treetops the smoke rising high into the sky, reflecting the light of the dozens of fires burning brightly throughout the island complex. Bearing right, the men quickly found themselves moving towards the river's edge where they came to a brief stop. Dropping down to a knee, Silvertongue finally took this as a chance to look over Anton. To make sure this was their man. Though the cheeks were more thin than he'd ever seen ,the eyes devoid of their color and the hair and flesh matted with blood and bruises, it most certainly was his employer. Motioning over another man, he looked over at him and nodded as he quickly got up from the place beside Anton and moved to another man from the strike team. Now bearing over Anton, the new man gave him a quick look over, the dim light of a pen light flashing briefly into the Yuktobanian Arms Dealer's eyes to elicit the appropriate reaction and flinching. A comforting arm quieted the man as he began to panic. Tears softly streamed down his face as the shock of what had just happened settled in and he let his body fall forward into the arms of the Seianese man before him.

"I told you I'd not let you die to them. I told I was going to come back for you, I just needed some time. I'm sorry for making you wait as long as you did Anton. I'm so sorry."

All Satoru could elicit from the Yuktobanian now was just the soft sobbing of a broken man as he slowly allowed himself to come back to his senses, shut off in defense of his psyche oh so long ago after he'd been captured in a sting somewhere near the borders of San Martin weeks back. Life had never been easy before, but whatever had happened here had been different than any of the traumas before and it didn’t take an educated man to come to that conclusion, especially not after seeing the camp first hand, even if in the middle of a firefight.

The approaching figure of Pearsohn, returning from a short conference with the members of the Strike Team had him dropping once again to a knee beside the two friends now embracing. Giving a moment of silence, it quickly became apparent that time was running out and he didn’t have the time to wait on them any longer. Speaking up, quickly, quietly, yet sternly, he garnered Anton and Satoru’s attentions.

“Radioman’s got the chopper inbound. Full extraction via a CH-47, personnel type. Water extraction about half a klick downstream. We need to get moving now, we’ll pop the flare once we’re in about the right spot. We already determined where it is, but we need to get going now. Anton, think you can float for a few?”

“Yeah, I’ll make it. Just get me the hell out of here. I think I’m done with vacations in San Martin for a long while.” A soft chuckle from the gathered men had them all rising to their feet and slowly securing their weapons. Most fielded some form of Yuktobanian assault rifle, their dependability in the aquatic conditions they’d subjected themselves to and the heavier rounds had lent them a considerable advantage to the underequipped prison guards of the camp now slowly beginning to flame out with a lack of appropriate fuel for the few fires that had carried on long enough.

Sounds of soft wading and splashing into the river had the men all slowly submerging themselves to their shoulders and softly swimming out to the center of the tropical river where the current could then carry them downstream. Soon enough, all that was left was the soft chirping of the night in the forest to replace the sounds of approaching motors from the neighboring military garrison near the prison. By the time any help would arrive there, the men would already be long gone and untraceable to any and all forms of tracking they’d have at their local disposal.

Almost ten minutes of drifting, slowly and lazily left the men nearing their approach point. The sound of gentle splashing as one of the men began to dig around in his vest produced a large-caliber pistol-like device. A pop and a solid whump sent a streak of brilliant red light high into the air as the sound of helicopter rotor blades became apparent. Wind beat down ferociously as the Chinook screamed by overhead, spotlight bearing down ferociously on the men in the water as it slowly came around and slowed it’s descent. Almost reversing the top current the men were on from a distance of over a hundred feet away, soon enough though, the strike team had waded their way onboard, and with them Anton too was finally secured.

Disappearing into the night, it would be known as the Wolf’s Heist throughout the criminal community, one a few successful high-stakes rescue missions that had ever been carried out on a San Martin Criminal Detention and Execution Center. The notoriously strict government security now lay torn to ribbons by a team of operators that had been given no name and no motive beyond one man. Anton. Whatever was to come of this night, and the men whom had partaken in the attack would perhaps lie to the ambiguity of history, or the uncertainty of the future. One thing though was for sure, to all whom feared the shadows, they’d become spectres greater in garnering fear than most others. They had become Demons.
