Okay if you took a coke out of a compartment and were to open it in your cockpit. ( assuming you're drinking this in the jet and you open it) and have to do some whacked out maneuvers to do that wouldn't you get coca cola all over your "office"? Also if that's In your plane that's better than the legendary german fighter pilot who was said to have a bf-109 fitted with an ashtray because he was known for smoking cigars

Anyway in real life, I been thru Pilot selection but bugged out because they got me lined up for G-550 assignment because I had a slipped disk after simulated ejection. Imagine this. I flew an F-16D in practice, drove a Leopard 2, but have not gotten a civilian car license.

When you get a lock it's countermeasures and weaving. No fancy stuff like pulling up, cutting the engines shit and the Heat Seeker loses you in the cold air. No. Dive to the deck, gain airspeed. You need to throw the plane off a 'lead' trajectory. Missiles are smart, they can anticipate where your plane is going, lead your plane and explode near it. But humans are smarter, you need to constantly be on the alert. High-G maneuvers are often the key, but try not to bleed out too much airspeed too often. Reason? Missile A is chasing you. SAMs fire another missile to take advantage of your extreme maneuver.

There's alot, more than what you experience in the game where once a missile missed, it missed.

I wish I could go into the army or the air force but mynas refers syndrome prevents that. I even was at a recruitment center and I was turned away because of it

In my country we're conscripts :p Basically every week when theres pilot selection they'd ship us off the training camp in an island, head to the airbase and look at computer screens all day. Math, reaction, critical thinking, all in one go. You get the initial thrill, then you start to question if you can actually make it, simply because there are much better people around you.

And meh, it kinda sucks to lose 2 years of civvy life which could be spent on studies or work. Still a controversial issue back home.

Singapore. But I don't lose much even now. Gonna be called back for retraining next week, involved in Rapid Runway Repair after they settled my vocation in the Air Force Pioneers. Looking at F-16s sitting in their hangars at night while leading a convoy is a guy's level of cool, or taking the wrong turn and having four F-15s streak over one's head while landing, and the runway is less than 500 meters away, rendering temporary deafness.... worth it.

Don't worry, Airshows are cool. I helped to organise one in 2014, weeks before my national service ended, they had it in my base. The US F-18 Hornet is a beauty. Twin engines roaring louder than the single one of the F-16.

I can't join. Afraid of heights and flying, and I don't have 20/20 vision unaided, which I hear is a requirement to be a pilot.
The Navy wants be for their AP, though, so I may do that after I finish university.

I don't have 20/20 vision either, so if that's the case I may not get to fly. I'm not so much terrified of heights as I am terrified of falling. I'm fine if I'm in an airplane, but if I'm standing on a high ledge it's not gonna go over well.

I had all of the requirements too, 20/20 to 20/15 vision, good grades, good physical condition, I have no fear of heights just uncertainty when climbing trees especially at the tops of pines( I fell 2 stories when I was 10) exept that I have as-burgers syndrome so my dreams of the military ( exeptthe Citizens Air Patrol) went out the window

He didn't say anything about Haruna yet, so she's gonna be the blur one even tho she doesn't like flirty ones.

For Sewek.... she already has a counter to throw him off.... if he dares to hit on her.

If y'all need a non-uniformed photo of Shinden, it's in her char sheet.

I pictured Sewek being the typical jock in high school. And Angel is oblivious most of the time, so subtly is likely to go over her head.

In other news, how much longer should I give for everyone to mill about before moving ahead? I know several people right now are in the middle of things, so it seemed like a dick move to just cut them off now.

I don't have 20/20 vision either so no flying for me. Playing DCS is the closest I'll ever get. But unfortunately there's no DCS F-18 yet so I can't at least pretend I'm in the RCAF.

Ayee. Dont worry, IRL is more important.

@Panther Shinden's moving off to clear her room and get some rest.

EDIT - Nevermind, I'll accelerate the process myself.

I'd say maybe enough time to clear up some loose ends, otherwise just send a message over the PA system of an emergency briefing ;)

But i think it'll be 24-48 hours before Haruna could fly again

The time frame is not an issue. It's more or less cutting off people who are busy otherwise right now.
