Since you went ahead and notified us your character won't be killed off. Just don't expect to be scoring many kills.

Technically, but going by Israeli experience with it, it is effective as a fighter. You're not going to be getting any BVR kills with it, but it can hold its own in a dogfight.

I'm trying to keep fighters and attackers together with like aircraft so that wing-men have similar capabilities.

Which makes sense.

Yeah. Its a bit difficult trying to partner people up by aircraft type and rank.

Role would probably be the easiest.

Bio:
Born in Yuktobania to a pilot of the Yuktobanian Air Force and a village doctor in the mountainous region of Dresdan, Dmitry was oldest of a brother and sister, life was good for Dmitry as his family made enough income to support their needs and wants, however it was also sad for him as due to his father serving in the Yuktobanian Air Force he rarely saw him and when he did it was only for a short period of time. But his father made the best of it, taking Dmitry on hunting trips across the country teaching him how to operate a firearm at a young age.

One day when Dmitry was 10, his father bought him a small model airplane which easily intrigued Dmitry, he wanted to learn more about aircraft and thus as he grew up his father occasionaly took him to the various airbases he was stationed at, Dmitry then decided that after graduating high school he was going to enlist in the Yuktobanian Air Force, a decision his father now retired supported and his mother strongly opposed, she instead wanted him to become an engineer and join the college that was located in Dresdan, but her attempts to get him interested failed and thus after graduating high school, Dmitry immeditaly enlisted into the Yuktobanian Air Force.

Life in the Yuktobanian Air Force was great for Dmitry as he met new people and got to travel more instead of being restricted to Dresdan, Dmitry saw little to no action except for air space intrusions most of which were done without any force being used, but this changed when an unidentified fighter intruded into Yuktobanian airspace and when intercepted opened fire on his escourts resulting in damage to Dmitry's wingman causing him to return to base and Dmitry scoring his first kill, bringing down the aircraft with cannon fire. But that was the only combat he saw in the YAF thus he resigned and enlisted in the 13th Mercenary Squadron in hopes of seeing more combat and money to support his family.

RP Example:
Operation Defensive Shield

ACCEPTED. Since we already took off for sortie you have a few options. You can either wait for our return, hang around the airbase, or come in as late reinforcements.

It funny to me how many of the characters are socially awkward. Pilots, especially fighter pilots, are usually Type A personalities which are by their nature very social.

Thanks I was thinking of a story about him getting captured by the enemy or something and that he has to be rescued by Mercenary ground forces.

Yeah, I would hold off on the daring heroics for the time being.

I modelled my character after concepts of some of those IAF pilots involved in Operation Opera, and half of them are introverts lol.

Option one is obviously out.
Option 2 is even more obviously out.
Option 3 is acceptable, but it feels more like it's building up to a main theme than an actual main theme itself.
Option 4 is tolerable as a mission track, not as the main theme.
Option 5 is too RPG-y for Ace Combat.
Option 6 is acceptable, but it feels a bit too MGS-y for Ace Combat.

I choose none.

Do you have suggestions to add to the poll?

The Hoff is too handsome to be taken seriously.

I mean, didn't he ask you to get in his Car?

So my flight has 4 attackers and 3 fighters. Could South Eaka just act like he's been here the whole time and join my squad? His Phantom would give my flight four of each.
