Today much of the territory has been reclaimed by nature, and is generally regarded as an unofficial wildlife preserve, but many villages exist throughout the foggy woodlands. To the northeast are the ruins of Orso Castle; to the south is the River Celeste. Military occupation has increased dramatically in recent months.

You don't get a choice. Unless you are unable to fly for some valid reason (injured, damaged aircraft, etc.) you are sent on whatever mission they want you to go on.

Although less impressive than the nearby Songnisan Highlands, the Kao region is nonetheless a beautiful environment in the vicinity of Nonsan. Predominantly devoid of human settlement, Highway 6 (and smaller transit roads) are the primary infrastructure of the area.
