You know...interesting point. We can continue to call the language English, since it developed from the Anglo-Saxons. Or we can, as the Celts do, call it Saxonish. The choice between them is largely arbitrary. Saxonish sounds more awesome, but English is more well-known.

That's why I said popularly. For the people, usually Cambria is associated with the former Roman province of Britannia, hence the name, even if the Welsh/Cambrian influence is also strong. In the informal speech, modern countries are usually associated to the old Roman provinces with possible, Christendom being Italia, France being Gallia, Hansa being Germania, and so on.
