Adventure Awaits!!
So I have an idea for an RP, in which player controlled characters are a class of people called Adventurers. As the name implies, they embark on adventures, such as defeating great monsters, delivering items across towns, fighting other adventurers, and other tasks. It is a job filled with prestige and rumors, often making all of them to be heroes. This could not be further than truth, as not all adventurers are equal in abilities and wealth. The thing is, all it takes to be inducted as an adventurer is determination, whether it do good or evil in the land.

Setting
Acraxia is a place of wonder, filled with beautiful lands. If one were to give examples of what they sort of look like, it would be from the pages/scenes of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi), The Seven Deadly Sins, Konosuba, and Log Horizon. The land has just experienced a great war recently and is still recovering from it. At one of its weakest points, a newly raised Demon Army appears and threatens to overrun the world in darkness. All of the kingdom's leaders coming together, they assemble the greatest army Acraxia has ever seen and attacked the army. Only for it to be spectacularly defeated by a handful of strong monsters, sending them in a retreat. Fearing for their citizen or the destruction of their kingdom, they called upon the adventurers for their aid, pinning all hopes and dreams on them.

In response, some adventurers made guilds, while some remained solitary in their quest. It is up to them to stop the spread of darkness or will they fall apart before that happens?

Adventurers
When the various kingdom's militaries can't stop a threat, they call upon the thousands of adventurers on standby. A unique trait about them is the fact that anyone can become an adventurer, whether it be the poorest or being a born royalty who has been given everything they wanted in life. They can be of all races such as humans, Halflings, elves, orcs, werepeople, and others. They can be farmers, assassins, scholars, knights, wizard/witches, alchemists, archers, bakers, and more. They can be as young as ten years old or as old as two hundred years old. What makes them special is an ability that they possess, whether it be granted from birth or obtained somehow. Based on how useful and powerful they are, adventurers are ranked with the highest being Rank SSS and the lowest being Rank F.

Type of Adventurers
There are two types I'm talking about, not their job, age, but where they came from. On the majority side of things, Acraxia native adventurers, these adventurers came from the land. Pretty straight forward. On the other hand, the other type of adventurer is a Universal Travelers. These adventurers are those from certain period of time from our world who either died and are given another chance or were chosen by the gods to come there. Only few of the Universal Travelers start well off, but most start from nothing.

Technology
Technology is somewhat a mix. At most, the most prominent kind of technology would be found in the 11th century. But there also firearms in the form of muzzle-loading muskets or shotguns, which are slow to reload and difficult to use effectively. The most advance is when science and magic is used in conjunction, more examples of that later on.

Planned Application (Work in Progress):
Code: Select all
Name:
Type of Adventurer: (Universal Traveler or Acraxia Native)
Appearance:
Age: (10 min, 500 years old max)

Job: (i.e. Farmer, Knight, etc.)
Rank:
Equipment:
Abilities: (Magic Spells for those who use magic or special ability they have)
Personality and Motives: (I want sentences explaining your character's personality and the motives of becoming an adventurer.)
Biography: (At least two three sentence paragraphs.)
Theme Song: (Something that's just cool to have for your character.)
RP Sample:

I like it. Another!

Testing the application as the in house guinea pig should :P

Name: David Blake
Type of Adventurer: Universal Traveler
Appearance:
Age: 18
Gender:
Job: Soldier, United States Marine Corps
Rank: Corporal
Equipment:
Apparel
-Improved Modular Tactical Vest
-Enhanced Combat Helmet

-Ka-Bar Combat Knife
-OKC-3S Bayonet
-M45A1 CQBP
--6, 8 round capacity magazines
-M16A2E2
-6, 30 round capacity magazines
-Entrenchment tool
[Done this mostly as a joke to test the appli and make sure it is dummy proof, if you like him I will clean this up]
Abilities: None applicable
Personality and Motives: David Blake is observed as being very methodical by his peers, he enjoys being precise and calculative with every action, in training he is observed displaying highly unconventional though processes to surprise the enemy and win the objective; case in point, during his Combat Leadership Course then Private Blake ordered his men to affix bayonets - those without proper bayonets were aided in duct taping their entrenchment tools, Ka-Bars, and various other objects to be used as bayonets and instead of using conventional door removal method instead used small explosive charges to destroy a wall and flooded the room with his platoon. David Blake is regarded well by those stationed with him, officer and enlisted alike, this is likely due to his steadfast resolve to get any job done and never give in to an obstacle. Despite being only a grunt he is inquisitive and has learned through small unsanctioned apprenticeship with the various occupations engineering, cavalry, medical, and other advanced capabilities that put him as a valuable asset in an assaulting force. Overall in conclusion David Blake proves in the utmost that strong will and determination can earn even the hardest of victories.
Biography: David Blake grew up in a small town just south of Louisville, Kentucky. Never being one for fighting he sought peaceful alternatives and instead used his charismatic nature to talk people down and stop fights between others. The day that made him realize that peaceful resolve was not always an option was when a big sixth grader came into the sandbox full of kids between the grades of second and fourth and began pushing people into the sand and kicking sand in their eyes. The teachers were no help as they were not paying attention to the children at all, and thus it came down to the younger kids to solve the problem. David approached the fella and asked him to stop which earned Dave an absorbent amount of sand in his face. Walking off to think a way to solve the situation Dave heard some kids shouting and came back to find the bigger kid actually punching a smaller boy to the point of knocking him down and then continuing the beating.

Declaring that enough was enough David grabbed a scarf he found left on the ground and noticed that some cat had used the sandbox as its litterbox, deciding to not touch cat feces he instead used a napkin that had blown in from the cafeteria and loaded the munition into his makeshift sling. Approaching the goliath of a kid he ordered him to leave and not bother them again, the boy stood up to his massive height and began to approach David, knowing he had the upper hand Dave slung the scarf in a circular arc above his head and let loose just luckily at the right moment to pelt the kid in the forehead with a sun baked and mostly petrified cat turd with enough force to rock the guy's head back a small degree. In disgust the older kid ran off, one can suppose this moment is what inspired David to strive for the lifestyle he'd pursue. From that moment forth David devoted his time and effort to helping others.

In the library one evening he found a book that said "Modern Knights: The U.S. Military", intrigued to find out more he read the book and discovered all the wonderful ways the U.S. military saved lives; on arrival to Parris Island he realized how much that book had left out. Rolling with it though David saw the good in what they did, later in life he'd be grateful for those Hellish months.

He had proved a good infantryman in training, his intelligence and strange thinking is what earned him a spot in several courses and schools that infantrymen did not typically go. Fresh out of intelligence school, which essentially taught him how to steal information off a laptop - which was pretty simple given the fact that the flashdrive you plugged into it really did all the work, he was sent to the sandbox to play. Arrival in what he could only figure was northern Iraq or southern Syria was horrid, instead of actually landing the plane as wasting fuel they just gave him a parachute and shoved him out the door, their excuse being that he had jump training. Nearly dying once already now Corporal Blade was pissed, this rage is more than likely what lead to his death.

The Marines had been casing a terrorist stronghold for weeks, they camped out in a ditch well away from the medieval era fortress that stood in the distance. Air support could not get units that far north as they did not want the Russians seeing them send units anywhere near Syria as they would send more units to the area and complicate covert operations in that area further, land based units were a week out at the best, sandstorms had sealed them off from any immediate aid. Thus the first lieutenant conversed with the sergeant and hatched a plan. Their force of thirty men would siege the fortress with heavy munitions and soften it from a distance before storming in to wipe out the hundred some force that it housed.

The next afternoon just as the sun waded down over the horizon the men opened fire with a barrage of SRAW, short range assault weapons, that blew chunks out of the sandstone towers and walls, one entire room of men was buried in a tomb of ancient bricks while they slept. Figuring they best use the ammunition that wouldn't be coming with them the troops opened their crate of ammunition and began dumping it towards the fortress as to ensure they did not leave it behind for the enemy to use. With darkness the only companion to the ungodly roar of gunfire exchange the Marine forces began creeping up to the compound under the blanket of black. Between the room caving in and the ammo dump over three fourths of the enemy force was taken out of the fight, the cost of it monetarily would most likely piss off a couple logistics officers, the men pushed on however. Coming into the structure though the Marine found out while the opposing force had stopped firing, they were drawing them in.

Entering through a crack blown into the wall Corporal Blake stepped into the structure and time slowed as his adrenaline pumped at full speed. One of the guys had rigged himself with an explosive vest and now Blake was dead either way his body and the walls around them would protect the rest of his team, thus he pushed the guy behind him back with all his strength in that split second and took the brunt of the blast, the last thing he would see would be the dark starry sky as his life blood drained and his body ran cold.
Theme Song: All I Want by A Day To Remember
RP Sample: David woke up in a forest, the last thing he remembered was the blast. Opening his fairly large backpack he found an MRE and began preparing it. He was starving and needed food. The forest around him was beautiful and thus he decided to explore it while he food cooked. Finding some berries that he judged to be safe as a bird had just eaten one he feasted upon cherry cobbler with blueberries, the only thing that interrupted his meal was a branch snapping. Turning around and drawing his pistol David saw a figure in shiny plate armor with the visor of their knightly helmet down. "Wizard!" They shouted upon seeing David pour water into the packet of food which activated the heater and sent smoke rising from it. "Uh, no? It is just my MRE, you want some?" He offered the strange knight the silver packet in his hands, they sat on the log next to him sheepishly and nodded their head. "So... where the Hell am I? I died and yet here I am in this forest." The knight removed their helmet and behind it was a woman in her mid twenties with striking red hair and emerald eyes.

"Died? So you are a lich?" Blake furled his brow and looked at her with confusion and wondered why she was so hung up on this Dungeons and Dragons stuff. "Listen, I do not know magic. This is not a board game. You see this?" he pointed to the branch tape on his jacket that said U.S. MARINES, "I am a Marine, you know, like the Army but cooler?" His cheeky grin stated that he was just poking fun, but the woman was having none of it. "A Marine? Marine means water though and you clearly are not a fish."

"Okay, granted it does mean naval related, but technically everywhere you go water is underfoot down far enough." The woman crinkled her nose in a unconscious physical expression of the word maybe as she shrugged her shoulders ever so slightly. "What kingdom do you hail from?" Blake pointed to the American flag on his arm, "I am from America, what rock you been living under?"

"I do not live under a rock, I live within the confines of the castle, I am the Captain of the Princess' Royal Guard. Where is this America though?" She asked looking at the patch, "Your coat of arms is strange, it is not a shield." Blake thought for a moment, "It is a place where we do not have nobles or kings for one, we choose our leader every four years; in my home anyone can grow up to be whoever they please. It is not perfect, but nothing ever is." Blake looked to the ground in front of him, "Anyway, what is your name?" he perked up and looked to the young lady.

"Victoria, Victoria Stormwind." Right after saying that Victoria jumped up and knocked Blake behind the log they were sitting on. "Stay down!" She took up a defensive stance and drew her sword, across the forest clearing a ten foot bear had emerged. "There is a dire bear, the monsters do not hunt for survival they hunt for fun. It has killed three of our watch guards in this area." Blake popped up behind the log with his rifle shoulder and balanced on the fallen tree trunk, he could see through his scope that the bear had multiple gashes and assumed they were from swords and various weapons. Victoria was about to ask what he was holding before Blake pulled the trigger back and sent a round flying through the air. It struck the bear to the top of the head and dropped it. It was soon to charge towards them. Blake pocketed the brass casing as he was certain there was no way he'd be getting a resupply.
[cutting it short here, sorry, got to go check something outside]

[I'd say it is good, it allowed me plenty of room to have a great amount of fun while being organized enough to be easy to fill in. It has my seal of approval for use! Might have some more fun and make one for Victoria, the application is simple and easy to use yet freeform enough to have fun with. A+ ^.^]

So, basically, what I was thinking is that a bunch of RP groups get together and attempt to create the best RP in the Multiverse. Basically, a game jam, except an RP Jam.

If you're interested, reply to this post or get with me in TG's.

For those that were interested, here is the brainstorm thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=383022

Hmm..... I'll go straight to what I consider the problems/minor inconveniences/nitpicks and here they are in list format:

 • Job should just be a soldier, no need to say he's from the USMC.
 • Rank is what rank adventurer he is, Rank SSS being the highest and Rank F being the lowest. His military rank doesn't really matter when he was given a second chance in life in Acraxia.
 • Equipment is mostly a big no, I'm fine with him being his fatigues and combat boots (everything else underneath included), everything else is stripped away from him during the trip. The knife or entrenching tool is acceptable, but only one of them should be picked. Can't have both. To me, it seems pointless that a person should be allowed to start over their life and have a good portion of their stuff. Nah, it should be the bare minimum.

-6, 30 round capacity magazines

Okay, so maybe not idiot proof, but I am a special kind of idiot so the instructions should work with everyone else.
I's just testing the app though, I don't think I can manage an RP right now. The story does seem cool though, reminds me of Familiar of Zero which I LOVE the story of.

So, I've been playing a lot of Star Craft, Dead Space, and Aliens while having recently finished reading the first volume of a collection of Astro Boy manga stories. It's like, ... any RPs I might be interested in? RPs involving a multiverse are not my cup of tea. I once signed up to play an Android in a space horror RP; but that RP didn't get off the ground. As far as Astro Boy goes I was drawn into the deepness of the stories, the Robot Law, and other aspects of the setting. Turns out I'm a sensitive guy.

I agree, I love cute things. Though hopefully your pals aren't dicks about it like mine are.

Some people can't look past the art style to see the depths below. Others just can't connect to characters as I can. The first time I felt sympathy was towards a fictional character. Like, Sarah Kerrigan, some people don't feel for her. They see awesome fights, lasers, and just- do not grasp the underlying emotion- the humanity of the characters. With Astro Boy I found my self tearing up during a some of the Stories such as Kino the Magnificent, Plant People, and The Hot Dog Corps. I latch on to some of aspects of a character or plot that others don't seem to grasp on an emotional level.

The first character I felt Sympathy for was Little Foot from The Land Before Time, and that spark of sympathy has spread into these years of my life. It's part of why I enjoy the Post Apocalyptic Genre, I think, since, when you think about it, Little Foot's world was, like that of Pixar's Dinosaur, apocalyptic.

Ok, I was a little 'left field' in the above. I really am in the need for something cute but deep- which sounds like something embarrassing to say. But, don't be a shamed to be you they tell me! I'm an American who likes Canada, sue me (in a metaphorical kind of way, it's not like I'm trying to become a Canadian citizen even while such has been suggested to me- Canada is too much of a police state if Flash Point is indicative of their real police force). Like, really, Flashpoint makes me think Canada is some kind of police state.

That, or my French-o-phobia is acting up :? (I've gotten over the outrageous idea that French people are more likely to partake of Canabalism then any other nationality, but the idea still lingers in my mind)

I have had Canadians inform me of the tragedy that is their healthcare system and they have also told me indepth of the weapons laws - I personally refuse to so much as go into Canada again as the place is a freaking hazard to life in all honesty. The people are nice enough, but I think I would rather visit somewhere like Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan - you know, places where at least people with guns will save my ass when the criminals try to kill me; Hell, I think I'd rather go to Russia than Canada, God bless 'em but their weapons laws are total horse shit.

As far as nationalities go we had a Swiss girl transfer in for a short time, we also had a guy who went over to the UK and came back, one of my buddies had done something Spetsnaz related at some point (the crazy Russian guys whoa re a whole other story of themselves), and I think I met a French chick? The funnest was Laura (the Swiss girl who we affectionately named Swiss Cheese), the biggest asshole was the guy who had gone to the UK and back because he thought he was the end all be all of aviation (which granted he was pretty smart at that but dumb in everything else) who smashed a one of a kind nearly 150+ year old artifact to pieces with his foolishness. I got in a fight with the Russian but we became pretty good friends after I threatened to shove a bar stool up his ass.

In other words I don't think I could be anything but American as assholes exist all across the globe, but at least here we get mostly the cool people from other countries :P The "brit" doesn't count, he was born in South Carolina and got sent over there for a few years before coming back. Though I can see myself being Israeli, my nose is too small and I am too white, also too tall, but any country that is that small and knocks out six other nations in six days has my utmost respect.

It is fine to be sensitive though and do not let anyone say otherwise. Funniest story, so I am sitting on this crate eatting my meal that consists of a silver packet of "astronaut food" as the kiddos seem to call it and a bottle of water. These big burly Chuck Norris looking guy plops down opposite of me on a bench and literally starts picking his teeth with a knife. Course by this point I am eyeballing this mountain of a guy, he ball cap had some insignia on it and based on his beard I figured I probably did not want to ask what he did for fun as I'd most likely be horrified.

Now this guy was Goliath if I had ever seen it, but all men are human else they are monsters. He opens the pocket of his fatigue jacket and pulls out this little pink bunny doll. Course I was confused and then before I could ponder further he starts to tear up and wipe his eyes. Asking the poor guy what was wrong he told me that he really just missed his nieces and nephews - I'll spare the rest but he had seen somethings that I don't blame him for crying. This is an extreme example of course as it is not often you see that; but it serves as proof that being "manly" isn't about how muscular you are or how tough you look, it is about the size and strength of your heart.

So don't feel weird about being emotional, Harb, it is what makes you human. :)

I heard great things about their health care system. such as it not sucking like america. They also were actually nice to refugees, and knew that none of them were terrorists. Because with how long the process for refugees is, along with the possibility of still getting denied, why would a terrorist sneak across the border as a refugee.

You, think you could, suggest some RPs or an RP concept? With everyone focused on the Multiverse I haven't been troubling anyone, and quite frankly don't know what I actually want from an RP :/ Which is why I've been making a list of music videos hoping it might be used to deduce what I really want in an RP. I'm sure someone will comment on it.

Alright, maybe I don't know what I want. Someone take a look and listen to these and make a suggestion. This is a slow day at the office.

Ghost Assassin
Pompei
Big Hero Six: Things we Lost in the Fire (Tadashi Tribute)

I couldn't think of anything else after finding the last one. I really like Tadashi's character, and Big Hero Six. Plus I wasn't ready for those emotions.

To be honest, I think I just got nervous because I posted the Teck Tek Techknicle RP to the forums, and got six views but no hits. The nerves have got to the point that I no longer feel like hosting the RP, and would rather take on the role of a character in someone else's RP.

I don't know ask the countless dead in Europe.

Oh and to the healthcare thing, most of the patients coming into the hospital nearby are from the northern country and also other countries with a universal healthcare system or those like it. You'd think given my location that you'd have more Spanish speaking patients, but they actually have a vast sum of German, Russian, and English speaking patients who are foreign.

I adore adorable things, though my former platoon mates called me "King of the Lolis"... Feckin' assholes. I think it is stupid that men by social standards have to be action hero-esqe or else be "gay". So what if I skip around the barracks in a red white and blue apron over my camies? I have been wanting to do a comedy, and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot the movie kinda pissed me off as it tried to make light of a serious topic but sucked at it horribly in my opinion.

I am however utterly tired of anything involving fighting (yep, odd coming from me, but I am serious) and kinda just want a sweet RP where we focus on character development in a world where bombs are not exploding and gunshots are not piercing the sky. To explore a world with childlike wonder and to see it for the first time. Kinda like that old TV show Rugratz.

I am familiar with that desire. Communicating that desire proved challenging, as the Slice of Life RPs I hosted to forefill the desire didn't remain peaceful for long. Mostly as the settings where not the kind to draw in people with that desire. Monsters in hiding, magical people in hiding, students who are monsters, students who are ghosts- but for some reason I can't just join a mundane 'everyone is human' RP. The setting has to be one full of mystery, diversity of the species, and drama that doesn't end in a building being destroyed by lasers.

I suppose we could always try to be detectives or something. If we gotta fight I at least want to fight some criminals :P

In association with my former post: Like, their is a TV show called 'Ruby Gloom'- one character is a Skeleton, another is two headed, a third is the manefistation of misery it's self, a fourth is a ghost- they all have oddities but in their world it's nothing 'strange'. So they end up going about daily life like anyone else would despite the oddities. It's a cute show too ^_^ You can find episodes on YouTube.

Yeah! I'd be up for that :D What level of detective, professionalism wise?

Police Detective
Private Detective
Armature Detective (in the manner of Nancy Drew or Mystery Inc)

Oh, it has occurred to me that we'd need someone to come up with mysteries for us to solve, otherwise we wouldn't have much of a mystery now would we

If you have seen You're Under Arrest, that is what I would want to go for. So Police Detective, but with a heavy focus on community duties and not so Battlefield: Hardline...

I've, never watched You're Under Arrest but remember you mentioning it before. Eh, I find myself reminiscing about the 'A Place We Use to Know' RP which had that feel in mind when it started, but due to the Order having to fall it inevitably grew into a focus on suppressing the 'terrorists', and unsanctioned Metahumans. It moved drastically away from a look at life under the order to 'a really brutal look at life under the order'. I'm actually not upset about that as it shows how the Order's fall was a good thing.

...

Anyhow, back on track- I've got nothing. I mean, as far as police shows go my favorite is Dragnet which is focused on police procedure during the 1950s and 1960s.

Sample; The Hammer

It's why I got a copy of L.A. Noir. I was already pretty familiar with aspects of the city, and how to go about the work due to Dragnet.

I think we would pull off playing as cops. We could stretch the rules a bit too ;P
I am thinking our patrol car could be either an Impala or a Caprice... either way we should modify it a bit, surely if it is to hunt down criminals they'd let us get away with a super charged engine, Nitro, and a few other goodies, right? *imagines dropping a V-10 Corvette crate motor into an Impala*

I don't know about this; I think I'd be like the old cop dealing with a loose cannon on the force :/
