I want to go eat a marmot.

But my leg's broken, and there are no marmots in the Philippines.

Marmots look tasty.

The pictures I saw make them look as big as a small child.

My S.E.R.E. book detailed what bugs to eat and which to not; you'd be surprised how juicy some of those ground crawlers are, though the crunch can be a bit off putting the first time.

Roaches have protein. But the kinds that you find in the Philippines live off of trash, so sometimes they really stink when you smash them. They fly, too. It's disgusting.

Also one if the reasons I started breeding mantises.

... I really want to eat a marmot.

I ate a caterpillar, one of the non-fuzzy squishy ones. It was a bit like a gusher if you remember those things.

Surely a marmot tastes like other rodentia though? Why not just locate a squirrel, rabbit, or some other small fuzzy creature? Any kind of meat (aside from person, cause that would be so wrong) with proper seasonings and the right cooking method surely can taste delicious.

There're no squirrels where I live! Also, no rabbits (no wild ones, anyway)

I would like to go and chase something out on the farm though, but right now I can't.. I'm immobilized. And even if I could walk right now, I couldn't go very far. As you know, AT-ATs aren't very fast. Right now I walk like one-- with only three legs! >.<

Still though... That marmot looks so plump and tasty..

Indeed, there are no squirrels in the Philippines. Having lived there for 8 years and visited about a year ago, I can confirm that.

What about frogs? Chicken guts? Balot? Goat meat dishes? Liver?..... I'm sure that there plenty of mammals that can be cooked there, personally mine would be the street vendors that sell Fish balls and other things. They're delicious!

There's shumai in Indonesia, with peanut sauce, soy sauce, and spicy/tomato sauce and lime as part of the accessories for the food. It's made from the fish, as well.

Of course, in Indonesia you will also find a lot of exotic foods. Bats, Grasshooper, I think there's komodo meat (?). In Thailand, I remember there is a half-boiled duck egg, the duck's still inside the egg so when you open the shell you can eat...the half-boiled baby duck.

We have something like that to, it's called Balot. It's almost a fully developed baby chick.

You know what I miss?.....

I know that it's not a widely shared sentiment, but I miss discussing OM&T..... Whether it be planning stuff or if it's just talking about characters or thoughts about the setting of the various RPs. Although, I guess there's a reason it's dead, but sometimes it's good discuss one your roots.

I don't like balot... e.e

My parents don't want me eating street food, either. I can eat fish balls only if they're made at home.

I have determined that my presence on this site is rather like that of a ghost in a home. Perhaps I am haunting- or something. By that I mean my ability to do much of anything on this site is limited on this terminal, but I can still chat so that's a plus :D

Where I able to join I'd examine it further. It looks very well done. I like the Fallout-esque feel of Benuty's RP.

GAMMA WORLD: The Beasts We Are

Some of you may recall 'Gamma World: The Earth Inherited' or 'Sentient Nature'. From the mind behind both comes The Beasts We Are. Taking place many centuries after a the old world's end, Gamma World brings players into a world of fantasy, mutants, old tech, and the futuristic. It is in this setting that we find a valley- a region- akin to 'Redwall', 'The Animals of Farthing Wood', 'Ms. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH', and 'Alpha and Omega'.

In this region, long abandoned by the Humans who struggle beyond it, various factions are in conflict and united only by a single entity, 'The Chief of the Valley'. An elected entity whose position is held until death. Often this individual is known as the Emperor or High King depending on how they style their rule, and how much they respect the voice of the Court-Moot. Some are even known as President for the sake of presiding and doing little else. Such individuals tend to only be found when the Valley is at peace, but such is not the present.

The Valley is threatened from with in and without, by forces real and imagined.

On the edge of the valley Humans have been sighted- their motives unknown by legends of Humans have not been favorable in the valley, and thus the border dwelling animals are understandably concerned. From with in, the old conflict between Predators and Prey has flared up. With the Valley's population having reached near crowded it was only natural for it to die down in this fashion, but if an outside force does threaten someone will have to bring cooperation lest the divided valley fall. Additionally, the Chief has perished, and a new one must be elected and to that post ambitious minds have said their eyes upon.

Who will lead the valley, and to what ends shall they seek? Will all democracy fade, or will the Court-Moot survive these trying times? Perhaps the valley will fall, and all efforts be in vain....

---
The Beasts We Are takes place in what was once a Wild Life Sanctuary that conducted Medical Research before the Social Wars. Ruins of both can be found, but the people of the Valley generally consider these ruins haunted, and are cautious of the mechanical creatures that guard the place- for every so often a being known as Warden, and it's servants called Ranger emerge to abduct, kill, or relocate the valley folk. No one knows what becomes of those taken by Warden- none remember what happened if they return at all. Some find themselves healed of all wounds, while others are nauseous, and do not survive for long after their return. Many have spoken of assailing the ruins in the past, but none have succeed.

What do ya'll think?

If the above is to happen I'll need a Co-Op who can serve as Co-Designer. My connection is too unreliable for me to host this alone, and my time too brief when I do get on to expand on it productively. A content designer, a story teller- that's what this RP will need.

It had to be dropped in order to pay for water, and electricity. But I'm getting employed so I may yet be able to afford it myself.

If no one is interested in the above then I'll gladly be a supporting content creator for one of you. It'd have to be a project that interest me, so give it a shot. I'd love to be on someone's project team.
