It is as I warned. My comment about most of what would be here being on Discord was not a complement of the service.

aerg, DISCORD... killing forums since it's inception. I warned people, even wiki's I'm on are suffering because of it.

Dude, this thread is practically dead. Just look at the inactivity. With out word from most of ya'll I was ready to call it quits and devote myself to some other group. How can you just 'brush' this off with some minor note regarding the chaos of spontaneous happenings?

So, Ryn wants me to call a mod to shut down this thread.

You want me to quite NS.

... also, if you could stop telling me to adapt that'd be nice. I have some trigger words like' "flow with it", "It's easier". Talk of people who just don't want to stand up to the direction of the world;

who don't understand

Rewatched Farthing Wood S2 (again) and now I can't help but suspect that Adder was quite possibly manipulating events behind the scenes.

Bounder didn't deserve to die, he was just guarding his family's territory but pragmatically speaking he was a potential threat to the Farthing faction. Dreamer's mysterious death and Adder's engimatic statement about evil may imply that the serpent was responsible - this death likely served to formally ignite the feud between Fox and Scarface who eventually clashed.

But after Fox is victorious and chooses to spare Scarface, Adder assassinates their shared foe. This puts a permanent end to Scarface's rule and ensures the Farthing Wood animals can continue prospering (of course there is that oath which might cause serious trouble a few generations in).

Did Adder play both sides to stoke conflict and ensure her faction emerged victorious? Maybe... buts its still kind of tin-foil.

I personally think so. It's the impression I got. Even the Farthing Wood wiki community makes note that in the books it's clear that Scarface killed Bounder (it was witnessed) but in the animated series it's not clear and as you note- seems implied that something afoot. I personally do think Adder killed Bounder.

In fact I believe this is where she got the idea for her plot; https://youtu.be/b8YP5Oa9ZLU?t=568 (from where the link goes to 11:40 in the video)

One can even assume that her comments to Bold about 'I do all evil' was a bit of her way of implying she got him back but- Bold was way too young to remember what happened I think.

Latest Idea.

Many millennia ago when the current civilizations were but primitives the galaxy was ruled by the Ren'sha'lah. The term means those who came before, most refer to them in Common as the Sanguine. They are vampiric in nature and despite being humanoid mammalians they have more in common with Earth Insects than anything else.

Centuries had passed since humanity had taken to the stars. We held a few colonies in the local cluster and fewer still in surrounding systems. Our first widespread encounter with extraterrestrial life was not a pleasant one. It was a Sanguine Hive Fleet which made contact with humanity first.

They found humans quite appealing and quickly annexed human space. During the 176 years of Sanguine occupation humans were harvested like cattle. Humans fought against the oppression, but it did little good. The Sanguine were more advanced and held all the cards, until they didn't.

One day the Sanguine vanished from Earth and human territory. Humanity's second alien contact was much more peaceful than the last. They were the Weseh conclave, a nomadic group formed from races displaced by the Sanguine long ago. Relations were understandably shaky at first. After several decades Earth controlled territory joined the Conclave, eventually forming the Intersystems Alliance.

It has been nearly two centuries since the formation of the Alliance. Two centuries of peace and development for the Alliance and the galaxy at large. Much has changed since Humanity took its first tenuous steps into becoming part of the Galactic community. In the dark reaches of the galaxy something ancient awakens and gazes out at the galaxy with curiousity, and hunger.

This takes influence from Titan AE, Starship Troopers(been watching the trilogy and the animated tv show as well as the two japanese made animated ones), Vampire Wars/Bloodsuckers, and Priest, to list a few.

This takes influence from the original concept which Omega Station was spawned from which may still be found here. More details can be found in the discord, but im still posting this here.

If made as an rp this would follow a local Militia Squad going on a routine mission following their training and recruitment. Then they would go from there, rising and perhaps falling.

Did the Sanquine, when they up and left Earth, take with them some Human cattle? could be a 'Lost Tribe' equivalent to Humanity.

WEll I am intending for there to be much mystery around them.

Millenia ago when they ruled they were akin to the Wraith from Stargate atlantis, cultivating worlds for their needs, but being stealthy to crush rebellion. Then something happened and all that was left were the Remnants. It was one of these Remnants which took Earth, then they in turn vanished as well for unknown reasons, but mankind always has to dabble in things best left alone.

:) Exciting, my mind goes to the 'Post Humans' of Star Control Origins- but you know- a darker vampiric version.

Adder was instrumental to the Farthing group's survival when Scarface became a threat and her actions could constitute a kind of pragmatic villainy - but the potential betrayal still hurts dearly. Dreamer was an innocent and trusted Adder like a family friend but may have either fallen victim to the snake's wounded pride or was chosen as a sacrifical pawn to kickstart the feud.

Poor Bold :( His story is almost a tragic reversal of Fox's even though they both had the same courage to explore beyond their home.

Fox was always special - maybe even chosen by some force of fate. The final book in the series (The Adventure Begins) is a prequel that features the Sage Hedgehog I recall Owl had mentioned in the show. This sage prophesized both the existence of White Deer Park during the early destruction of Farthing Wood and a leader who would unite the Farthing animals. This leader must have been Fox who may have even appeared towards the end as a cub.

Bold wasn't special in the same way - he seemed to be set up as a brave heroic figure similar to Fox but either through sheer bad luck or not being quite as adept and resourceful he his gradually broken by his travels and forced to return before expiring. His story did demonstrate the terrible dangers the Farthing animals had to contend with and how White Deer Park was the only sanctuary left. As unwise as Bold's departure was, his struggle to carve our his own destiny made him sympathetic.

His stoic acceptance of his impending death was emotionally moving and if nothing else he did help guide Whisper to White Deer Park where she presumably lived a better and safer life.

Mix of both, mostly action adventure with the group fighting the Sanguine and their pawns. I will be introducing something i came up with for another setting, the Nemean Incident. A courier vessel leaving an independent research cooperative sent out a distress call then went silent, I based it off of Aliens and the Nostromo shenanigans.

Sanguine Caste Classification:

Thrall: The Thrall are the weakest and most numerous of the Sanguine. Biologically they are not truly Sanguine, but they are not very far from being one. A Thrall comes into being when a member of another race repeatedly ingests the bodily fluids, typically blood, of a Turned class Sanguine or higher. They are very instinctual beings but are largely the same as they were previously. (coincidentally only those who have been addicted to narcotics or the like have been seen to become a Thrall)

Familiar: A Familiar is similar to a Thrall but on a more independent and functioning level. Familiar class Sanguine are stronger and more attuned to Sanguine biology than the Thrall. This goes for weaknesses as well as strengths.

Turned: Turned are the most numerous true Sanguine, but alternatively are the weakest. Each Turned Sanguine was once a member of a different race. Most still look the same except for intetnal physiological changes and Sanguine quirks.

Warrior: Warriors are Sanguine whose very purpose is to fight. This caste typically carries out the raids/harvests on other planets and civilizations.

Noble:(may make Nobles the leaders and commanders, make the evolved a separate class/caste) Nobles are those Sanguine who have evolved to be more than what they once were.

Royalty: Royal class Sanguine are not made but can only be born. They are typically the oldest and most powerful of any Sanguine Class.

Sanguine Biology:(incomplete)

Although lumped together not all Sanguine are alike, even within the same Caste/Classification there can be physical and even mental differences. Despite this there are a few traits, beneficial and detrimental, which are common among all Sanguine.

Each and every Sanguine on some level requires the consumption of blood to be at their peak. When fully sated(but not gorged/over fed) Sanguine are typically physically superior to humans(base race if Turned). Blood from most other species and Thralls are their typical fare. Only certain types of Sanguine can feed on other Sanguine.

Sanguine are host to a sort of parasitic bacteria that converts foreign material(typically blood) into a compatible form. It is this bacteria which allows Sanguine to 'turn' those of other races and species into a compatible form of existence, ie a Thrall, Turned or Familiar.

A discussion for a New RP is being considered in Discord.

Currently we have settled on the genre of Kaiju, where players are going to be playing Kaiju and the humans around them. Fights will be inevitable.

Does anybody not in the Discord thread have any interest, questions, suggestions?
