How does the Hanseatic Republic have a higher population, and a larger army than I do, when they are a fraction of my size?

I assumed everyone was making their populations and millitaries bigger, because South Germany had 58 million people.

Eitherway, HANSE is the worlds superpower, not France.

No clue, probably on the app. You could conscript but they'd be less well equipped and trained.

You could hire mercenaries, I hope you have enough money for that many though.

You should read my economy. I put a lot of work into that, much more work than Hansa did. If Hansa is the most powerful military power, then we are the most powerful economic power. I built French-Angola to be super wealthy. They have factories and mints all over the planet... :/
