"At the beginning of the 21st century, the Umbrella Corporation had become the largest commercial entity in the United States. Nine out of every ten homes contain its products. Its political and financial influence is felt everywhere. In public, it is the world's leading supplier of computer technology, medical products, and healthcare. Unknown, even to its own employees, its massive profits are generated by military technology, genetic experimentation, and viral weaponry."

Well, it happened, the goddamn zombie apocalypse. It all started in Raccoon City, and now the world is no more, whole cities crumbled by the disease. Fight, survive, live, has become part of daily life, everyday looking for supplies to survive that much longer and all the while avoiding the massive zombie hordes and whatever else prowls these landscapes. I can remember the day it started, everyone was living their normal lives when someone began to eat another on the street, that's when shit hit the fan, millions of 'them' began pouring out of everywhere slaughtering and eating the unsuspecting populace. The local police stood no chance either, slow to react and untrained, they were killed off as well. Then, as some reports say, a special division of military called S.T.A.R.S arrived and started to work toward the Umbrella Labs, and that's when the realization hit the people...Umbrella was responsible for the outbreak. Doesn't matter now though...the whole world has been turned into a wasteland, and you are in it, so buckle up, it's going to be a long road ahead.

This is my second attempt at a resident evil RP, set in the wasteland left after the outbreak ravaged the world for several years and turned the world into a desolate place devoid of life, except for the mutations of the strain created by the evil Umbrella Corp.

The Black Ones

The Black Ones are a merciless band of humans that prey on weak survivors. They are armed to the teeth and highly dangerous. They have camps set up around the arid wasteland, but their main camps are in the ruined city of Vegas. They are typically hostile and never will do business with 'unknowns'.

The Order of the Virus

The Order of the Virus is a tiny clan deep in the wasteland, they are famous for believing the virus to be a gift of a higher power. They are typically friendly, but are deranged at the same time. As is...some of their rituals, to join the cult, you have to slay a zombie and slather yourself in it's internal organs and blood. They also let themselves get bitten repeatedly, so members die regularly.

The Gifters

Okay, The Gifters are a weird bunch. They typically are very nice, and give away most of their things to people in need, they only keep the essentials and view everything else as things that other people need. They travel across the wasteland and try to avoid the large zombie hordes.

Umbrella Fighters

The Umbrella Fighters is a group that split from the Umbrella Corp after the outbreak. They escaped Raccoon City and tried to survive like everyone else, they have stolen high tech weaponry from the Umbrella Labs, but they have chosen to only give them to the higher rank soldiers in their little army. They're also wary of travelers, as most people despise them and hate them with a passion.

The Tormented

The Tormented is a group of National Guard that escaped the outbreak and fled Raccoon City, they have seen the horrors of the apocalypse and now travel as well armed and well trained raiders. They use their training to its fullest extent and they are usually hostile to anyone that they do not know.

Merchant Guild

The Merchant Guild, as everyone calls them, is a group that travels to the various camps and trades supplies for supplies, as there is not a valid form of currency in the wasteland. They have hired well trained bodyguards to make sure that they are safe while delivering the goods.

The Purifiers

The Purifiers are the survivors of the city of Kaffa in Crimea, and are one of the largest groups to date. They are obsessed with purifying the undead from the world, as their camp also has a munitions factory nearby. The Purifiers are well armed and highly trained. They are nice to the living and will accept anyone, but anyone who joins will be inspected to the point of privacy violation.

What kind of weapons are available in the wasteland?
All of your modern assault rifles and other forms of weaponry are present in this RP, though most of them will be available to purchase in the shops provided by the merchants. Also, Umbrella has developed several high tech guns and grenade launchers to help deal with the undead, they will be in the hands of their makers and also in abandoned and highly dangerous military bases and Umbrella labs, you might even find them on a lost patrol.

What kind of monsters are lurking in the wasteland?
Your typical zombies will always be about and other mutations, such as zombie dogs, lickers and others that people dare not speak about will be in the darkest corners of the arid wasteland will always be stalking you.

Where does this all take place?
After the apocalypse, and after a couple of years of the virus ravaging the earth, the whole world has basically become a wasteland. Whole cities in ruins, all plant life has been killed off, there is a couple of animals about that adapted to survive the harsh conditions, but mostly the inhabitants of the wasteland want to kill you. So where does this all take place? Think Midwest, where the vast wasteland is.

Name: Mathias 'Sharpy' Sharp
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Appearance: Mathias is average built and has brown hair, he has extremely blue eyes and has several scars across his face.
Equipment: Mathias carries in his backpack, a couple of food rations, a crowbar and various other tools, a picture of his long lost family. For weapons he has, a knife in a sheath on his leg, a glock 18 with several clips holstered, he also carries a M16 with three clips.
Backstory: Mathias was with his family in Raccoon City whenever the virus spread, he fought his way out of the house with his family, they ran across the street and his wife fell down, he tried to save her, but failed, and she was eaten alive, he carried his daughter far away from the screaming and they found a working car and drove away from the city. He later found out that his daughter was bitten and has to shoot her. He later joined up with the Tormented, and now spends his days there.
Can he/she read and write?: Yes.
Weaknesses: Mathias main weakness is his depression over the loss of his family, as he still blames himself for their deaths. He also has broken his leg in the past, and it is now incredibly weak.
Abilities: Mathias is well trained with both his rifle and his pistol, he is very athletic and works out constantly.

Backstory: An Umbrella researcher stationed at the North American facility outside of Las Vegas. He worked with Dr. Isaacs on the "Enhanced Zombie" project, but was transferred to the Lake Mead Facility before Dr. Isaacs mutated and killed everyone. An exceptional scientist who views the global T-Virus pandemic as an unusually large field test.
Can he/she read and write?: Of course.
Weaknesses: Harbin is a scientist, not a soldier. He can shoot, but he's not a marksman. He insists on carrying a S&W Model 500 for use against larger mutants, even though the gun is too much revolver for people twice his size and there are a few rifles and shotguns around that would serve the purpose better anyway. Harbin is more interested in his work than in helping to keep the group functioning, and one of these days, his curiosity is going to get him killed.
Abilities: Harbin is a world-class scientist. Given the right facilities, he could synthesize more antivirus, or a more dangerous strain of the T-Virus. That might be the only reason he's kept around. His knowledge of anatomy and physiology also allows him to act as a field medic when the need arises, although he's quick to remind others that he's "not that kind of doctor." He has a familiarity with the anatomy and behavior of zombies and other common mutants that often helps him and those around him to stay alive in the wild.

Weaknesses: Due to specialization in Stealth and Speed, he's not particularly strong in terms of lifting, or durable. Additionally, he's not good at making "friends", and tends to only focus on his mission.

Anyway, this is how he and his family got away. An entire train bearing survivors (who later became the members of the Purifiers) was poised to leave Kaffa and head for Ukraine. A horde was chasing them when they managed to get in the armored train and flee. Yet, the stress of being second in command has demanded much of Yuri;his hair even became white as a result.

When she graduated High school she wanted to go to college to become a Physicist. However, she her family did not have the money to send her so she decided to join the Army. She enlisted as an 88M, truck driver, and was stationed at Fort Irwin in California. She would stay there until the collapse of the government when she and a number of other Soldiers went AWOL.
She stole a Humvee and headed out east to try and find somewhere that was safe. It was on the way to Nellis AFB when she came across a group of soldiers in a broken down Stryker ICV who seemed to have the same idea. She preceded to repaired the vehicle and she followed them to a National Guard Armory where she met a group of deserters who had begun stockpiling supplies.
As the world collapsed around them they began to venture out into the growing wasteland in small teams scavenging supplies and parts wherever they could. Eventually the infected made their way to the camp and broke through the fences. Amina grabbed as many guns and supplies that she could in the short time available and stole a Stryker driving it and a small trailer out into the wastes. It was there that she began trading her goods for other supplies and became an official Merchant.

Can he/she read and write?: Yes
Weaknesses: Not much of a fighter, prefers to talk, a bit of a loner.
Abilities: Good mechanics, decent trader, decent shot with rifle and pistol, military training, excellent driver.

Backstory:Yuri was a resident of Kaffa, Crimea, when the zombies simo,y came out of nowhere. Compared to other survivors, he is tremendously lucky, as he managed to get his whole family intact.

Anyway, this is how he and his family got away. An entire train bearing survivors (who later became the members of the Purifiers) was poised to leave Kaffa and head for Ukraine. A horde was chasing them when they managed to get in the armored train and flee. Yet, the stress of being second in command has demanded much of Yuri;his hair even became white as a result.
Can he/she read and write?:Yes
Weaknesses:The stress has given him heart disease, and he is more fit as an administrator than a fighter
Abilities: Good at leading and is also good at sniping
