It's actually kind of surreal. A good number of the people I've known practically since joining this site are gone. It's a bit sad, when I really think about it. Honestly, this community has contributed so much to making me who I am today. Not only have I bettered my writing skills a hundredfold, but this place has been a constant in my life for most of the past 5 years, a place where I can come and have fun and ignore real life and feel good. This place has helped me get through some really rough times, and I love it for that. Because of this site, I've met some of the people I consider to be among my best friends. It's the circle of life. It's what How Roleplays Die is about, just applied to people.

One cannot stay active and write forever. Eventually, the passion and the ambition fade out, like a candle's light in a room devoid of oxygen.

But that is not something to be scared of. We should all remember that we're not the last. There's always someone newer, someone less experienced, but someone still passionate about this hobby behind us in the line.

Ten years later, none of us will be here anymore - but that's okay. Because we will still live on in our successors.

I just hope that someone who succeeds me has the same passion for abridging roleplays as I do.
