I really don't think you would be kicked from NS for that. That kind of treatment goes for people who have grossly violated site rules persistently, after several warnings and other disciplinary actions. I'd think you're ok.

When I started doing OP work, I didn't know anything either. I really had to learn on the fly. But after doing it for a little while, I've gotten more of a hang of it. To some degree. There's always more I could learn, and some of the things I just have gotten into a niche for things I like doing OOC page wise.

Don't give up on being an OP. And also, don't give up on your idea. It does sound fun. Just, by all means, take part as a player first. I did before I OP'ed, and I'm glad I did. Helped me a lot. I'm sure it will help you too.

(Also, in addition to some of the code links Zanera listed - { cough the same Zanera who should come back to Infinites cough cough,} you can also get advice from others you see as to how to do the coding, where to advertise, and all that.)

I felt like I had ran out of comedic juice so I mighta jumped off the ship, but I can see about swimming back to it.

Also, for Ravio, the P2TM Mentors are there to help you with writing and RPing stuff in general if you require their services.

The good thing about Infinites is that I and others are always willing to help stimulate comedic juices. If people are ever stuck, the OOC page is a good place to discuss. That seems to generate shared-comedy ideas. Which is always good.

The Moderators like the forums nice and tidy, since too many threads can slow down the server. If you want to discuss Minecraft things, it's best to take it to the Minecraft thread. Other than that, there isn't a reason why the Mods would be on your case for other things if you don't give them a reason to. Read the rules and follow them and you'll be fine.

I guess I really could ask for some ideas or to get the proper stimulation to generate new ones from OOCing.

Saying that Airship pirates is minecraft just because it's made with minecraft is like saying that War and peace is a dictionary just because they are both made with papper.

Airship pirates is a very tiny niche that can easily fit into a Minecraft thread, which is barely touched these days anyway. It is like one would also discuss mods and DLC and YouTube videos for or centered around Skyrim in the Skyrim thread. A discussion on dictionaries probably won't last long, and could easily go into a larger thread about books in general anyway, contributing to the thread whilst keeping the forum clean for [violet].

Calling Battlefield3 Minecraft because they are both video games would be as wrong as calling W&P a dictionary because they are both books. Airship pirates is a series in Minecraft. Calling airship pirates Minecraft would be extremely accurate.

Why people insist on having official discords for their individual RPs, I'll never understand. All it does is distract from the OOC thread, and an inactive OOC correlates with an inactive IC.

My biggest problem with Discord is that it isn't easy to be a part of a discussion if you live in the wrong time zone. An internal cabal of RP's, who both have the time to be constantly online and life in the right time zone with other players/the OP make important decisions there, without the other players being able to weigh in. For me, this has lead to not understanding certain plot developments, or being scared from posting because I am afraid I missed something. Looking back through an OOC thread it easy, watching hundreds of lines of Discord chat isn't. I think Discord leads to the death of RP's, and having a Discord for a specific RP really is a turn-off for me.
The name's James. James Usari. Well, my name is not actually James Usari, so don't bother actually looking it up, but it'll do for now.

Those too. An OOC thread keeps everyone up and informed on their owntime while Discord in practice creates a rather select group of the informed.

Well it's been more a matter of not participating in an RP in going on 5 months now and everything just feeling the same.

What you in the mood to RP with or have you gotten to that point in Bordom where you're like; "Dang man I don't know anything." *suggestion* "Nah, I'm not feeling it."

If you're not yet to that point of bordom; let me know of a genre or a character you'd like to play. Having a character in mind before looking for an RP can help in locating an enjoyable one.

The RP had interest and I think you can learn a bit from it. I'd suggest listing accepted applications on the OP Post but that's about the only advice I can give. RPs have slow starts- people have work, school, and other activities that take precedent so one has to be prepared for the long haul and engage the players. My recent RP wouldn't have gotten an IC if I didn't. I guess in that regard responding to Da Klan when he apologized for being late would be a way to show that you've not abandoned the RP. Some OPerators do that with a slow start- and it's important for players to know your dedicated. Recording the accepted applications and recognizing posts about delays is a good way to do that.

Indeed. Now, I can see the use of a discord server for RP groups, and I can even see it being useful in an extremely limited context within individual RPs, as long as its entirely restricted to the following:

-pinging certain members who need to post
-facilitating chatting that would otherwise be considered spam in the OOC (i.e., shitposting dank memes)
-being the venue for any required "fade to black" scene that can't happen in the IC (assuming the people doing it are of age)

Summer tends to bring on that sort of thing. I remember when the forum drowned in academy RP's, and yet here we still are.
