Sort of feeling out involving myself in a third RP. I'd be more interested I think in a Alt-History/Faction RP taking place in a medieval age, but as long as it's not futuristic I could probably involve myself in anything else. Any good recommendations on RPs that aren't too far along to hop into?

I mean, to be fair, Elementals has only just started off, in spite of having officially launched last year... in April, I think. We have only just now gotten into the second scene, to give some lay of the land.

We launched this year in January, but yeah, the story itself hasn't moved that far. The characters are in a port at the moment, so it would be easy to bring in new characters.

That probably plays into no 2 as well to a certain extent, though I would note that, in my opinion, RPs have become more time-demanding over the years. A good thing and a bad thing, really. I used to think nothing of juggling 5 RPs because I usually only put two to three paragraphs into a post, but nowadays that level of casual posting is frowned upon. Not really here nor there, just different.

Sadly, I feel like P2TM'ers may have become a little too competitive and paranoid about looking like they're not taking games "seriously" enough. It started out as encouragement to separate ourselves from F7, but has morphed into a kind of creative workaholism. The fear of being labelled a glorified chill and chat thread is also a driving force behind a lot of it, I think.

More along the lines of chupacabras and other mythical creatures, with some zombies thrown in for good measure. I've been thinking of using Nevada or New Mexico as the setting.

New Mexico has a lot of Native American tribes, ergo a lot of Native American myths and monsters you can use.

The Navajo have skin-walkers, which might be interesting. The Navajo lived in New Mexico in the 1880s.

How does one making an appealing OP that would attract players? This is something that prevents me from posting RPs because I feel like I'd look low effort by comparison. If it helps with suggestions, what I'm trying to work on is an RP in the vein of police procedural TV shows like CSI and NCIS. Since it's set in the real world so to speak it's not like I have extensive lore to pad out an OP with.

Ok, I've had an idea, a horror/mystery RP set on a british merchant ship in 1833 in service of the Honorable East India Company, ( and if it starts to sound like Return of the Obra Dinn, while I was inspired by it it will look nothing like it so no worries ), so, before I ask for opinions and help, first, the premise, a East Indiaman ship named "The Brightstone" has departed from England about 4 months ago carrying 80 crew, passengers, and ~900 tons of cargo to India, the ship was sailing smoothly, albeit with some tensions on it, then just when they were passing Cape of Good Hope, a murder happened, the question is, will the crew be able to find out who is the culprit, and will they uncover any other secrets while doing so.

I ask for opinions, want to find some reliable RPers who would help me keep the tension going ( because let's face it, you can't have a murder mystery, if only one person acts in a way that can put them in suspicion while every other crew member is a total paragon of selflessness ) and for help ( especially with the various intricacies of 19th century sailing )

You can't do one-person games, no. If you want to write an independent story, you're welcome to make a personal art thread and post it there. Keep in mind, anything above PG-13 content is not allowed on the site, so if the "maturity" of your story exceeds that, it cannot be posted anywhere.

I never posted in the Art thread before. And if I had, it was for a story contest. You sure I would allowed to publish a story, similar to a maintenance thread? (I would have to post multiple stuff in the form of replies for my story.)
